You may have just arrived from the wonderfully talented Kaylee Van Es' Blog. I just adore what she has created! I get to showcase the Lovely Lilly Pad Stamp Set (#152288). This is one of those fun "Reversibles" Stamp Sets. Which means this set is uniquely designed so that both sides of the photopolymer stamp can be used, One side creates the lines and detail; while the other fills in the image. However, with this set, the images are not symmetrical and will not line up perfectly, but that makes the result very artsy, I think. There are so many possibilities! For my first card, I wanted to show you how you can use the reversed side of the stamp to create a background. It's very simple. Here's how you do it: First, I like to stamp the detailed side of the stamp first, because that makes it easier to see where i will be placing the filled in part of the image. Next (after you clean the inked up side you just used), you simply flip the stamp over to the other side and place it firmly on your clear block. Then ink up as you usually would and stamp. I first stamped off onto scratch paper so that my "filler" image would be a shade lighter. You can see for my sample, I used the wavy watery image to create a soft patterned background using Petal Pink Ink on Petal Pink Cardstock (below). You will notice that my flower image looks filled in. If the offset look of this reversible stamp bothers you, you can simply use a Sponge Dauber to fill in any uninked areas. Here's a closeup of the effect: I made a smaller 3x3 coordinating note card as well: For my next card, I used that gorgeous Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper to layer behind my flower image. I used So Saffron Ink to stamp the lily pad image onto my background. I love creating my own patterned paper this way. It's very simple and doesn't require many supplies-just ink, stamps, and paper! Hello Hello Crafty Friends Welcome to the BE INSPIRED BLOG HOP for November. This month the Be Inspired Design Team are sharing creations with a "FEELING FESTIVE" theme. Such a timely challenge if you are anything like me and are still making Christmas Cards like crazy. Living in Western Australia we get to celebrate the festive season during the Summer months and my family and friends love Christmas Cards with a beachy - summery vibe opposed to wintery scenes. The first two cards I have to share today were requested by Hubby - he asked for "cards with no lard" LoL, which basically means clean and simple without too many layers and embellishments. I have inked up images from the Timeless Tropical stamp set for these two cards. I was SOoooOoo stoked when I won this set in Prize Patrol at Onstage. Out of all the sets that were given away on the day I really really wanted this one as I just couldn't wait for preorder!!!! Both cards share the same layout, made to look like a holiday snap of Palm trees. To create the "photo frames" I have simply removed a square from a rectangle piece of Whisper White card. Next, I took a piece of Shimmery White card and sponged Soft Suede, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay inks, then cut it in half and adhered to the "frame" with Tombow. The Palm tree images and flowers were stamped in Memento and coloured using Stampin' Blends. I have white heat embossed the sentiment from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and tucked it under the flowers - which have been attached with mini dimensionals. The next card disregarded Hubby's request for clean and simple!! This one is for me to send one of my crafty friends who will appreciate all the "lard" LoL. This card starts with a piece of Shimmery White card to which I have sponged, Soft Suede, Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point inks in layers like they were sand, water and sky. I have then stamped and fussy cut several flowers, pineapples and the Palm trees from Timeless Tropical stamp set and added a few die cut stitched rectangles and Tropical die cuts. Before adhering the card front to the base, I have added some linen twine. To finish the card I added the heat embossed sentiment and a few Holiday Rhinestone jewels in pumpkin pie to the centre of the flowers. That is all from me today. It's blog hop time again with my crafty West Coast Creators teammates! And even better, the January - June mini catalogue is now live AND it's Saleabration time! I actually made this card more than a month ago but I have yet to share it or write the blog entry I had been intending to! This card use the stamp set Enjoy the Moment. It was included in our swag bag from attending On Stage at Home. It's one of those sets that I look at and think I don't need but I've seen incredible projects with it and I had SO much fun creating this design. There are a lot of different elements so I'll start from the cardstock and work my way out to the detailed images. I chose a Cinnamon Cider cardstock base to which I added a layer of Early Espresso cardstock (4"x5.25") topped with a layer of Whisper White (3.75"x5"). Now for the images, I chose to stamp in versamark and heat emboss in white. I did this on the smallest Stitched Shape Square die cut on Whisper White. Each image was then sponged with a different ink colour - Petal Pink, So Saffron, Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam. Each image is then backed with a scalloped square layer in the coordinating cardstock. I used Sponge Daubers to create this look but now that the Blending Brushes are available, I'm looking forward to trying this again using the brushes. To finish it off, I stamped the greeting using Early Espresso. I am so pleased with the end result of this card and can't wait to use this stamp set to create more beautiful designs! Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Design Team's November Blog Hop. The Around the World on Wednesday has been created by my lovely friend Angie McKenzie and comprises a group of super talented demonstrators from around the world. The Around the World Hop goes live on the second Wednesday of each month. Our theme this month is The Market - All About Texture! It is a broad theme with a specific focus on Texture! I've chosen to use the new Enjoy the Moment Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!, it is a new stamp set due out in the new Mini Catalogue in January. The seed pods, leaves and seeds immediately made me think of the markets where you can buy an array of different items including dried flowers and seeds. These images are so real I can imagine the feel and texture of them, but to add some extra texture, I ran the stamped panel through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. Despite dried "things" usually being brown, I decided these images looked great in any colour! And of course, I added my trademark accessories, some Gold Metallic Pearls, Linen Thread and a sentiment white embossed on Basic Black Cardstock! Hello stamping friends! Today, I am SO excited to share my project with you for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. We are an awesome group of stampers from all over the world who come together on the second Wednesday of every month to share some creative inspiration and smiles from around the globe. Our theme for the December 2020 Blog Hop is “Something Old, Something New”. There are so many ways to interpret this theme and that is why I LOVE being part of this blog hop. Throughout this hop you may see some retired products, some new products, some of the designer’s favorites, or just a mixture of all of the above. Well, I don’t know about you but I’m ready for 2020 to take a bow and exit the stage already. What a year, right? I had initially planned to do a mix of older products with something new. But once I got to playing with “something new” I fell into a happy place creatively and that is what I went with for my project. For my project, I decided to make a fun fold card using one of my favorite product suites in the upcoming January-June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog: Ice Cream Corner! At our team meeting earlier this week, I did a "Mystery Stamping" presentation and a “Double-Z Fold Card” for my project *I’ve also shared all of the card measurements below along with a full supply list at the end of this post. Once I created my card for the meeting I had fun making even more of these fun fold cards using some of the awesome new products in the Stampin’ Up!® Jan-June Mini Catalog. Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I feature the beautiful Wonderful Romance Bundle with a lovely z-fold card in Petal Pink. To make this card cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock 11 5/8" x 6". Score at 3 7/8" and 7 3/4" along the long edge. Mark one 6" edge at 3 1/2" and cut from the opposite top corner to this mark to create angle. See diagram below: Using a lead pencil draw a light line 1 5/8" from angle. This will be your guide for die cutting the decorative edge. Using the guide line run the leaf edge die thru your Bigshot, starting at narrow edge. Carefully align the beginning of the die with the end of the previous cut to avoid doubling up. Remove the small cut outs. Card should look like this. Cut 3 pieces of matching paper measuring 3 3/4" wide and as high as the highest point of each of the three panels of your card. Here my three panels are 2 5/8" x 3 3/4", 3 1/2" x 3 3/4" and 4 1/4" x 3 3/4". For each panel of paper align with card, mark the lower point and cut at angle to fit. Remember that one of your panels will be positioned on the reverse side of your card (which will face forward when card is being displayed) so the angle on this one will be a mirror image of your other panels. Glue down with Multipurpose Glue. The base of your card is complete, now to decorate! Using Tuxedo Black ink and the Wonderful Romance stamp set on Whisper White cardstock stamp: One flower bouquet 4 large leaves 2 smaller leaves 8 Small flowers Colour images with Stampin Blends, markers or watercolour pencils. Here I have used Stampin Blends in Dark Petal Pink, Light Flirty Flamingo and Light Mossy Meadow. Cut out by hand or using the dies from the bundle. Also cut two oval tags from bundle in Whisper White cardstock. Decorate the forward facing panels of your card with the die cut images. Here I have stamped one of the oval tags with a sentiment from the stamp set for the front of the card and left the other blank for a handwritten personal message. Your card is finished. Well done!
