For example, do not be afraid of repetition. It is critical that students with significant disabilities get to experience material over several days to be able to fully assimilate what is being taught. Also, adding visual supports to your printables and class activities helps students be able to pay more attention to the content you are presenting rather than the mechanics of what is expected. Finally, ask questions. Good questions!! Regardless of the material, if we can ask students good questions it will push them to think more deeply than before. ♥As always please take a moment to leave feedback or post any questions you may have. Remember, you will gain credit toward future purchases on tpt as you leave more and more feedback!! ♥I am currently developing more units, and any feedback I get helps me make improvements in the future. Plus, it just means a lot to me.
The Lakeside Quilt is a traditional hand made quilt, made with a variety of cotton fabrics. The design features an elegant arrangement of patterned fabrics in the traditional blue and white chevron. The style of chevron quilting and textile work has been around hundreds of years and was popular in Ireland and England, with symbolizing dating back to Ancient Greece. However the resurgence in the US was believed to originate from Women’s Temperance Movement in 1890s. This period in time saw the rise of the Anti-Saloon League, and were early contributors of National Prohibition from 1920 to 1933. The belief is that the quilts were sewn to promote the abolition of alcohol in the US, and were commonly seen with a blue and white color scheme. The theory behind the blue and white color scheme is that the colors symbolize the purity of water. The palette on the front of the quilt is made up of soft earthy shades of blue mixed with natural tones of ecru, white and shades of black and brown. The back of the quilt a periwinkle blue. The quilt is new. One of a kind. Origin: United States Manufacturing: Machine Quilted Material: Cotton Condition: Great. Wear and inconsistencies are unique to the original item. "Blackbird Near Reeds in Snow," by Eigon Bessho (c. 1890-1920) DIMENSIONS • 9" x 12" (Image: 4.25" x 10.5") • 12" x 16" (Image: 5.63" x 14") • 16" x 20" (Image: 6.88" x 17") • 20" x 30" (Image: 10.5" x 26") • 24" x 36" (Image: 12.5" x 31") Archival Inkjet on Fine Art Paper Smooth Surface - Matte Finish - Inset Borders ABOUT THE ARTWORK ----------------------------- "Blackbird Near Reeds in Snow" is an Edo period woodcut of the kachoga ("bird and flower") genre. Its minimalist composition is characteristic of Japanese art, where aesthetic statements are often made in the taper of a few lines, or the gradients of an ink wash. Whereas Western art, with its three-point perspective and advanced techniques of realism, sometimes borders on the novelistic, traditional Japanese art observes the same economy and precision as its poetry. ART-CENTRIC DESIGN ----------------------------- Vintage art is not standardized. The original works are usually too long, or too short, to neatly fill a store-bought frame. Most shops arbitrarily crop the artwork to match, leading to claustrophobic prints with missing or partial elements. These modifications — sometimes trivial, sometimes ludicrous — are not always shown in the product photos. We believe that the purpose of art is not to fill a frame; it is the purpose of a frame to showcase the art. Our prints have inset borders that make up any differences in proportion between the artwork and a standard frame, so that you can experience the art as the artist intended. They look sharp in beveled mats, may be float mounted, or inserted directly into standard frames; the borders providing a mat-like accent around the image. There are many styles from which to choose. Framing is a fun, creative process that enhances the artwork and livens your space for years to come. Should you like any advice, feel free to reach out. CUSTOMIZATION AND IMAGE REQUESTS ----------------------------- We are happy to customize our prints to fit your frame. Borderless prints may require the artwork to be cropped to fit a new aspect ratio. In such cases, we will provide a mockup to ensure that the final product meets with your approval. If you’re looking for an artwork that is not in our catalog, feel free to ask if we can provide it. We will print any public domain or openly licensed image that is available in high resolution. MUSEUM QUALITY ----------------------------- Giclée process prints are the gold standard in fine art reproduction. We use a matte finish, cotton fiber paper to maximize detail while eliminating glare. Our prints display a wide color gamut, deep blacks and beautiful tonal transitions. Produced using only archival materials, they will not fade or yellow, but maintain their original quality for as long as you own them. HANDMADE DECLARATION ----------------------------- To assure artistic quality, all of our production and design is strictly in-house. Every print has been proofed, calibrated and inspected for defects. We do not drop ship, resell or make use of third-party production partners. SHIPPING AND PACKAGING ----------------------------- All orders ship within one business day via USPS First Class, Priority Mail or Priority Mail Express. Sizes 9” x 12” and 12” x 16” ship in a flat configuration, unless combined with larger prints, which require tubes. We will replace any lost or damaged items at no expense to you. HAPPINESS GUARANTEE ----------------------------- We will promptly address any issues that may arise with your order. If you are unhappy with your print for any reason, you are welcome to return it for a full refund.

Gerald Leslie Brockhurst (1890 - 1978) was one of the most celebrated and original portrait painters and printmakers of the inter-war years, whose sitters included the Duchess of Windsor and Marlene Dietrich. His portraits are characterised by their fine draughtsmanship and other-worldly qualities. He entered Birmingham School of Art at the age of twelve and went on to the Royal Academy where he won many prizes including a travelling scholarship which in 1912 took him to Paris and Italy. The influence of the Italian Renaissance, in particular the work of Piero della Francesca and Leonardo da Vinci, can often be seen in his portraits. Set in idealised landscapes, the sitter appears to float in the front of the picture plane. [Christie’s, London - Oil on panel, 61 x 47 cm]

Carl Størmer (1872-1957) enjoyed a hobby that was very, very unusual at the time. He walked around Oslo, Norway in the 1890s with his spy camera and secretly took everyday pictures of people. The subjects in Størmer's pictures appear in their natural state. These street photography shots extremely differ from the grave and strict posing trends that dominated photography during those years.
