This is the lifeblood of Athens however its ancient history is what brings in tourists from around the world. Like them, I climbed the Acropolis to the Parthenon and looked down over this famous Mediterranean city and over to Mount Lycabettus, which is topped by a pretty little chapel. I walked under the massive columns at the Temple of Zeus that have stood for centuries and will continue to do so, long after the tourists have gone. The owl is a symbol of Athens, and my illustration of this capital city of Greece, features a fine fellow, keeping guard over a sprig of olives.
