"Wherever I wander, wherever I roam... be it ever so humble, there's no place like home" Rolling hills run alongside the ocean in this New England styled landscape print; saltbox homes, a lighthouse and a church dot the landscape while a schooner and whale enjoy the calm seas. An 8" x 30" signed print, painted primarily in shades of cream, tan, and brown; the finished piece was then distressed and antiqued which shows up nicely in the print. (source) As I have shared with you a couple weeks ago, I was and still am in the throws of painting our entry foyer. So of course with new paint in a space comes... yes you know it and so do I... A NEW FURNITURE ARRANGEMENT ...plus the purchase of a few other new items. So I have been perusing the Internet, Google Images being my favorite way to go, looking for some much needed inspiration. I had fun checking out the many beautiful foyer ideas, so I thought I'd share with you a few that really caught my eye. Here we go in no particular order... I just adore the cozy feel of this first pic from Southern Living. (I can imagine the palms outside that little window swaying away in a warm gentle southern breeze.) (source) And I am really crushing on this wood and iron railing. Thinking that maybe just what is needed on our staircase. Isn't it pretty? (source) This next entry is cozy as can be and wonderfully charming. (source) Vanessa from the blog At the Picket Fence, shows off her elegant foyer. She strikes the perfect balance between wall art and furnishings. (source) You know the saying...Go Big or Go Home! This is not the entry to the home, excuse me, mansion, it is actually on the second floor, however it very well could be a foyer. This is the Blairsden Mansion, one of the largest privately owned homes in the country, located in Peapack-Gladstone NJ. I went on a tour of this magnificent place last May. If you would like to see the entire mansion tour just click here. And now for something really striking! (Or should I say "Striping"?) (source) This next foyer is my hands down favorite. I love the architectural detail of the walls, ceiling and doorway casings, which seems to render this space absolutely timeless! (source) And who doesn't adore StoneGable farmhouse? Yvonne has the most amazing style and her entry is simply stunning! Don't you love her new chair? I'd want to park myself in that chair for hours just to sit and admire her lovely farmhouse inspired home. (source) Here's another entry idea from Pottery Barn. I've recently noticed that I am drawn to the idea and look of gallery walls. To me they tell a story. And finally this last entry, which is way way way out of my reach, I had to share because I think it is just beautiful! (source) So there you have it! Some wonderful inspiration for me to mull over in my mind. I do have a few ideas of what I'd like to do in our foyer, I just need to play around with them over the next few days. But in the meantime, I am wishing you all a very happy last week of February! Come on SPRING! XO
Set of 2 lovely samplers from the 70s/80s completed on what appears to be a cotton/linen fabric. They are very well done and would look adorable framed and hanging. Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home and Now I Wake to See the light tis God has kept ,e through the night. The larger samplers finished area measures approximately 9" by 11" and the prayer samplers finished area measures approximately 7.5" by 9.5". They are in good but vintage condition. No loose threads, no pulls, no holes, however both have stains so please see all photos. Some are on the edges and would be well hidden by a mat and frame others would not. I love positive feedback! The Duty of Natural Affection
Such a timeless sentiment, expressed with obvious love, this vintage sampler had to have taken someone countless hours to produce. The cross stitch sampler says: "Be It Ever So Humble There's No Place Like Home" below a decorative house, finished with a nicely detailed border. The sampler is in good, age-related condition -- all the stitching is intact -- and is ready to be framed. We have soaked the piece in RetroClean and ironed it. The sampler is approx. 9" x 11 1/2" Free Shipping on This Item
I have made this lovely cushion from a 1960s vintage embroidered linen sampler and an upcycled polycotton sheeting fabric. The front of the cushion has the poem: " 'mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam, Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home" in cross stitch with a cottage scene, floral flourishes and a simple cross stitch border. I made sage green cotton piping and the reverse side is a pretty, soft floral polycotton in co-ordinating colours. The cushion is sold filled. I can sell it unfilled if you prefer, msg me prior to purchase and I will adjust the shipping. Measures 35cm X 40cm. All fabric is as-new or in very good recycled condition. Please msg me with any questions…I’m happy to help! ** I always combine postage and refund any postage overcharge. I use recycled and recyclable packaging when available.
This is a Stamped Cross Stitch Picture "Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home." The picture has a fireplace with a roaring fire, complete with a kitty sleeping by the hearth. The mantle is decorated with plants and a clock. "Be it ever so humble" is in the picture over the mantle and "no place like home" is in the center of the rug, which is completed in a chain stitch. The stitching is nicely done and is on a cream nubby linen. The lettering is in warm shades and the frame is medium oak. The piece is nicely framed and is ready to display. It is an open frame, without glass. This picture has a great sentiment; just as appropriate today as when it was made. A nice accent with great warm, fall colors to add to your home! This piece is an estate sale find in very nice vintage condition. The frame has a few nicks and scratches from age and use, but it still displays well. The paper on the back is in good shape. Please review photos for condition. Price includes shipping. Shipping will be by Fed Ex, UPS or Priority Mail depending on package destination. I have lots of fun items at EclecticTrashPanda. Q: 85"W + 105"D + 24"HK: 101"W + 105"D + 24"HCK: 97"W + 109"D + 24"H BIRCH + RECLAIMED DOUG FIR + WAX FINISH The Hudson Platform Bed is intended to imitate the scale and presence of large stacks of natural lumber. Each substrate is finished with Reclaimed Douglas Fir, salvaged from architecture local to us here in SoCal. The rough reclaimed surface of the material is removed to reveal a beautiful old growth grain hiding below. The wood is then carefully placed on the beams in a patchwork pattern. The bed’s low profile counterbalances the rustic, reclaimed materials with a simplistic, modern design. The mattress sinks in to the frame, preserving the modern aesthetic. The wide beam sideboards create excess surface area for bedside items, allowing you to forgo traditional nightstands and limit the clutter in your space. Reclaimed wood has a wide range of color and texture due to weathering. The wood is up cycled from various sources so no two pieces are alike. As a result, cracks, nail holes and uneven surface textures are to be expected. Handcrafted in Los Angeles, California by a small and dedicated team, this bed is made to order to ensure that every piece we build meets the unique needs and preferences of the customer. // PERSONALIZE THIS PIECE Care + Maintenance
