Have you seen WPlus9's latest release? The stamps and dies are absolutely gorgeous and I just had to place an order! I got them in the mail and jumped right in and created this.... This stamp set is called The Little Things. I love the layered stamps and the detail that it creates. The bird house is 3 easy steps! The layers give it so much dimension. I stamped the flowers and the birdhouse and then cut them out with their coordinating die cuts. I grabbed a lavender cardbase and added in some Classy Stripe Stencil from Altenew.....my favorite Stencil of all time! Next, I layered 2 of the Lavina Layers Background Die onto the card base. I added the middle layer of the die cut stamped with a sentiment from the Little Things Stamp Set and then added the die cut images to the card front too. Super simple but the stamped images give it so much detail. Click HERE to see WPlus9's full spring release! Thanks for coming by today. I hope you have a great weekend! _____________________________________ FIND ME OVER ON: Instagram: Laurie Willison (@laurie_willison) YouTube: Soapbox Creations Facebook: Soapbox Creations All products in today's post are linked below and throughout the post. A big hello over the ocean from Berlin, Germany! Although I’ve been stamping for over ten years, I still feel very challenged by no line coloring with watercolors, especially when it comes to critters. For me, this technique is so much easier with flowers. But, I practiced a lot in the last few weeks and…

Hello, friends! I'm back again to share two more cards I made during my "welcome to summer vacation stamping and watercoloring" day of fun! These two cards feature stamps by WPlus9, including the "Happy Wishes" and "Doodle Buds" sets. For my first card, I die cut a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the sentiment. Next, I stamped the flower images, masking each one and layering as I went along. Finally, I watercolored the flowers with distress inks and splattered some ink for interest. I layered the image on black card stock and mounted to a stamped card base. For my second card, I was inspired by this card by WPlus9 owner and designer Dawn Woleslagle (found HERE): Again, I started out with a die cut watercolor paper rectangle, then stamped the images and sentiment from the "Doodle Buds" set. I watercolored with distress inks, added some splatters, and adhered a die cut butterfly. Finally, I layered it on black card stock and mounted on a red card base. I hope you enjoyed my cards today...I know I enjoyed making them! Have a great day, Judy

These dies single handedly brought me out of my creative slump. As I mentioned yesterday, I was feeling completely overwhelmed with everything going on and had the hardest time getting into the mood to create. So, I decided to just start die cutting. Easy. No thought. Just a bunch of colored card stock and the…

Since I have a little more time now, I've been revisiting some of my old cards for inspiration. Today's card is a result of that, using some elements from THIS (first) card, mixed with a new embossing folder just released at Spellbinders. supplies: white cardstock, various Petite Prints design papers from Doodlebug, Wplus9 Doodle Buds clear stamps, Pink Fresh Studio Perfect Sentiments stamp and matching die, Spellbinders new Splish Splash embossing folder, teensy enamel dots for flower centers I chose 3 bright colors from the Doodlebug spectrum, a bright royal blue, bright orange, and hot pink, and stamped the flowers from teeny florals, the centers from gingham, and used a yellow dot for the very center of each flower, then paper-pieced them, adding a weensy enamel dot. For the leaves I used all kinds of patterns: stripes, gingham, dots, graph, woodgrain, etc. To me, this is quilting all over again, but in a fraction of the time! Usually when I use more than 1 flower, I cluster them in a group, but this time I marched them down my card in a line, then just added a simple sentiment. I think this embossing folder is going to be a favorite! Thanks for stopping by today!

One of my favorite design motifs for masculine cards is nautical. Well, let’s face it, nautical is perfect for all genders and ages really. But it is especially great for masculine cards as it’s gender neutral. With Father’s Day fast approaching, I wanted to share a couple of designs that are perfect not only for…
Hello Creatives! Today I have a pair of cards for you featuring the new Lots of Love Die paired with some oldie, but goodies. They also use one of my favorite techniques of using the positive and the negative of a die cut. I started by cutting 1/4″ strips of different card stock. I used…

Hello friends! Today we are taking a look at one way to CASE a card, without directly copying it. We all share our ideas freely to inspire each other. But I often hear the question “how do I use a design for inspiration, without copying it?” First, let me say that it is 100% OK…

Happy Wednesday friends - hope you are having a great week! Have you seen these Square Confetti Cuts (links below) from Reverse Confetti? So cool; they make a perfectly square 4.25" card OR you can layer it on to a larger size card...or make a tag...the possibilities are endless. I wanted to keep mine very CAS yet colorful. I had created a couple watercolor panels last weekend (you know, smoosh some distress colors down, add some water and dip your paper in) and put them aside to dry; I thought it would be a perfect backdrop to a clean white card. I cut 3 layers of the THANKS Square Confetti Cut, sponged on some yellow on the bottom of the 'thanks', added glossy accents then layered them together. I stamped and embossed some WPlus9 Modern Peony images to add some interest, adhered the stacked panel to the watercolor panel and then to a top folding 4.25" square note card - quick and simple! Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week! Hugs! WHAT'S IT TAKE? Stamps: WPlus9 Modern Peonies Papers: Neenah 80 lb. white, Ranger distress water color Ink: Distress Inks Accessories: white embossing powder, glossy accents Challenges:

Hi There! The card I have to share today was inspired by the latest class from Online Card Classes, Stretch Your Dies. An easy yet effective technique, using the negative space of the dies, leaving the positive diecuts to use on another card. The dies I have used are from Little B's set Bouquet. I love these dies, they are versatile and can be paired to cut in a different manner. The sentiment strip is from My Favorite Things, Blueprints 21 and the 'hello' diecut, cut from a coloured foam sheet, is from Wplus9, Hand Lettered Hello. I used Liquid Pearls in Onyx Pearl for embellishing. Rather than squirting the paint directly on the card front, I dotted pearls onto a craft sheet and left them to dry, then lifted and glued them on with Multi Medium Matte. The diecut piece has been mounted with foam tape and placed onto the card base, giving dimension to the card and the same has been done with the sentiment strip. I am entering this into the following challenges: Mod Squad Challenge Blog - Tick Tack Toe 1) Flowers or butterflies 2) Die cut or punch 3) Dimension Paper Creators Crafts - Flowers Scrapbook Blessings Club - Anything Goes w/ Pink, White and Green Die Cut Divas - In the Garden Thanks for popping in!
Hello there, and happy Saturday! It's time for another Cloud9 Blog Hop featuring all of your favorite WPlus9 stamps. Here is the beautiful photo we're taking inspiration from this month: {photo source} You may have seen the news on the blog hop preview post that I'm stepping down from the Cloud9 team. There have been some major changes in my personal and professional lives lately, and I'm trying to find better ways to balance work, home, and my hobbies. So for the moment, I need to step away from a few things, and unfortunately that includes the Cloud9 team. Many thanks to Suzanne for inviting me to be a part of it, and all the best to the team going forward! Speaking of the team, two new designers are making their debut this month at Cloud9: Erin Taylor and Maureen Merritt. I love both of these talented ladies, and I know they'll have some amazing inspiration to share at Cloud9 every month. Okay, on to my card. :) I tried a few different things with watercolor that failed miserably before deciding to focus on just the beautiful bouquet in the photo. Using shades of aqua, pink, and green, I did a lot of stamping and masking using Very Vintage Florals on Oatmeal cardstock. This card is going out to a crafty friend who always uses beautiful ribbons on her cards, so I just had to include a bright pink bow. Cardstock: WPlus9 Design Studio (Oatmeal), Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores), Stampin' Up! (Early Espresso) Stamps: WPlus9 Design Studio (Very Vintage Florals) Ink: Stampin' Up! (Melon Mambo, Garden Green, Pretty in Pink, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip) Other: Michaels (ribbon), thread You have until March 12 to link up your creation in the Cloud9 gallery! Thanks so much for your visit. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
