Translucent Florals plus a myriad of other products have been used to create this card Caseing the fabulous Rochelle Laird-Smith for AWOW hop
Summer has returned to my small corner of the world 😀 but sadly for me a trip to the beach is not on the cards 😢. By using the Beach Day stamps and dies I can let my imagination take me there! The background is a simple wet watercolour wash. The images are stamped and watercoloured in, not my greatest skill for sure! The sentiment is stamped directly onto the card base whilst the focal point is mounted onto black cardstock and popped up on 3d foam. The grasses and shells are stamped directly onto the watercolour panel. The other images are stamped, coloured and then die cut out. I have to say my personal favourites are the seagulls !

I know what you're thinking - why do kids & pre-teens love Wednesday Addams & the spooky aesthetic? As a mom to 4, I find myself wondering the same. Despite all of this, I do not have the answer to why kids love Wednesday's spooky vibes, but I can help you throw a totally kid friendly Wednesday Addams Birthday Party! Since you wont find these adorable items in regular party stores, check out what we have in our online party supplies shop - Pretty Day! Wall Ravens Fang Napkins Halloween Table Runner Snake To Go Tumblers Lapel Cups Black & White Check Plates Black & Gray Nevermore Stripe Plates Be Afraid Napkins Are you ready to plan the most spooktacular Halloween party ever? Get ready to step into the world of Nevermore Academy with a themed party that will send shivers down your spine! Inspired by the iconic character Wednesday Addams, this party will be the talk of the town. From creepy decorations to hauntingly beautiful costumes, we've got everything you need to make this a night to remember. First things first, let's focus on the decorations. Transform your party space into a gothic mansion with dark and gloomy elements. Hang cobwebs along the walls, strategically place black candles on tables, and scatter fake spiders throughout the room. Create an eerie ambiance by dimming the lights and playing haunting music in the background. For an extra touch of authenticity, add portraits of the Addams family on the walls, including a prominently displayed photo of Wednesday herself. Now, let's talk costumes. Encourage your guests to embrace their inner Wednesday Addams and dress up accordingly. From her iconic black dress to her braided pigtails, Wednesday's style is instantly recognizable. Don't forget to remind your guests to perfect their deadpan expressions! To make it even more exciting, you can even host a contest for the best Wednesday Addams look-alike or award prizes for the most creative costumes inspired by other characters from the Addams family. As the night goes on, keep the spooky vibes alive with some fun Halloween-themed activities. You could create a haunted maze in your backyard or set up a fortune-telling booth where guests can have their futures predicted. And of course, no Halloween party is complete without some deliciously creepy treats - think black cupcakes with spiderweb designs or gummy worms hidden in bowls of "witches' brew". So get ready for a night of frights and delights at your very own Nevermore Academy themed Halloween party. With the right decorations, amazing costumes, and thrilling activities, this party will be one for the books. So gather your ghoulish friends and prepare for a night of hauntingly good fun! Setting the table at a birthday party is one of my favorite parts of decorating for a party. I just love laying out the coordinating tableware and adding my own special touches. For our Wednesday Addams aesthetic, I had to go with a black table cloth. These paper table cloths are unique, because they are made completely out of paper! Grab this pinstriped table runner to roll down the center of your table. From there, start layering your tableware! I grabbed these spooky raven napkins, but you can use any spooky napkins that suit your theme. These potion bottle napkins give great witchy vibes, or these black checked napkins. I layered these large dinner plates with these cute skull plates as a feature at our Wednesday Addams birthday party! There are so many spooky cute options for tableware, like these Halloween candy shaped plates or these spooky eyeball plates. I love this huge purple bat balloon & this free standing spooky-cute haunted house balloon. You can really go any direction you want with fun balloons! Now lets talk spiderwebs! Of course creepy spiderwebs are a must for the perfect Wednedsay Addams aesthetic, so I grabbed a few packs of these colorful spiderwebs. We have them in purple, orange, black and white. I love this huge hanging spiderweb decoration. It's designed for a fireplace mantle, but you can use it as part of your backdrop or even a table runner! Another classic spooky decoration to add to your Wednesday Addams Party are these super fun hanging bats. Grab a bunch of packs and hang them all over! Also check out these glitter wall bats! Welcome back to another monthly inspiration blog hop from the team at Around the World on Wednesday. We hop on the second Wednesday of each month with a theme that we hope will give you some inspiration. This month's theme is Layered Up!. We were free to interpret this however we liked. We were challenged to fit as many layers onto a card as we could. But of course, being somewhat pragmatic, there was part of me that said just because I could add lots of layers, should I? In the end, you want a card that is useable and looks good. I hope you think I found the sweet spot on that... and there are more layers than you think. 😀 One of my favourite sets, Forever Fern, hadn't seen the light of day for a little while. Of course, it'a perfect set for a spot of layering. I've used Stampin' Blends to add more depth to the already fabulous DistINKtive images of the set... I wonder, is that another layer?? I also like to keep the edge narrow on die cuts, so I shaved more off after I had die cut them and cut some more leaves free. I've added depth through adding colour but also in how the various pieces are attached: some are stamped directly on the base, some die cut and glued on, some are dimensional-ed on, some are dimensional-ed on top of dimensionals. So, how many layers? 1. Shaded Spruce card base 2. Mat of Gold Foil, embossed with Tasteful Textiles embossing folder 3. Basic White card front 4. Stamped images and gold embossing on the card front 5. Stamped and die cut images, coloured and shaped, and glued directly onto the card front 6. Stamped and die cut images, coloured and shaped, mounted onto dimensionals 7. Stamped and die cut images, coloured and shaped, mounted onto dimensionals over raised areas 8. Frayed ribbon under the sentiment 9. Sentiment 10. The sentiment has a partial gold emboss over some of the words - and I'm certain that counts as a layer too! 11. And would you count the Gilded Gem embellishment as another layer? 😉 Next up in the hop is the wonderful Leonie Stuart. Visit her and see how many layers she's managed to include.
