Take a look at what Laura of the Prairie Peasant blog (in Manitoba, Canada) is making! She's cutting up her scraps and making colorful coiled mats. Some are even made with selvages, as you can see below. Take a close look and you'll see some of the writing and color dots on the selvages. Isn't her photography beautiful? Vintage desk pen holder from the 1960-70s which shows the enameled emblem of the Province of Manitoba in Canada. The copper men holder is beautifully filigree copper. The pen is black and ballpoint. It needs a new cartridge and one of the photos shows how pen writes. The pen is a Sheaffer and Made in USA and the holder is made by 'Fantasy Copperware Ltd.' in Canada. The pen is a dark brown. The base is solid walnut has no cracks or chips and very minor patina on the copper. This is a beautiful vintage gift for someone or a great addition to any vintage desk. *The woman I bought this from said her father was a deputy minister and worked in the Manitoba Legislature.
