Piedra, papel, y tijeras. Students will love this rock, paper, scissors game that utilizes ser or estar verb conjugations with the acronym D.O.C.T.O.R. (ser) or P.L.A.C.E. (estar). Place students in groups of two. Students will play "piedra, papel, o tijeras" to see who can advance their game piece. If a student wins with "rock" they move forward one space, a win with scissors would be a 2 space move, and a win with paper would mean going forward 3 spaces. The next step is choosing the proper verb conjugation of "ser" or "estar" AND providing the D.O.C.T.O.R. or P.L.A.C.E. reason for that choice (for example: Yo____en la escuela: ESTOY would fill in the blank because it is describing a "position" or "location"). If a student is unable to choose the correct verb AND is unable to provide the correct reason behind D.O.C.T.O.R. or P.L.A.C.E. he/she would lose 1 turn. The first student that makes it to the "el fin" box wins. Paper clips and eraser tops work great for game pieces. Let students have fun conjugating "ser" and "estar" with "D.O.C.T.O.R. and P.L.A.C.E." No prep! Print and go! This resource has 2 game boards and 2 answer keys for a total page count of four.
