The storms that battered Britain over the weekend will return with a vengeance this week as heavy rains and gale force winds sweep across the country.
I am deeply in love with the Scottish Highlands since the very first day I went there. The original Gaelic name of this part of Scotland was A' Ghàidhealtachd, which means 'Land of the Gaels'. The term Highlands was first used by the English in the Middle Ages to distinguish this area from the Scottish Lowlands. Both Highlands and Lowlands constitute two different physiographic regions separated by the Highland Boundary Fault. This expo contains some pictures of the most wonderful spots you can visit in the Highlands of Scotland. I have picked geotagged photos to make easier the finding of their location. If you love natural spaces and places covered by a magical atmosphere, I strongly encourage you to plan a trip around this fascinating area.
