★★★★★ A very exciting thriller. Felicity is a computer genius, who has spent her entire life in witness protection because of her parents. Her parents defected from Russia before she was born. The world believed that they died that night, but in reality they only died a few years ago. An ex K.G.B. officer, now a very wealthy man has discovered the truth. He is now hunting Felicity to find something her father may have hidden. Sean also known as Metal, is an ex SEAL now working for A.S.I a security firm. When Felicity collapses in his arms almost dead his protective instincts take over. This is part of the Midnight series, but can easily be read as a stand alone. Metal is everything a true hero should be. Big, strong, protective, tender and he can COOK. I am in love with him . Felicity is intelligent and brave. The action is non stop. The love scenes are hot and full of emotion. I will be looking for more from this new to me author. Now she’ll protect herself while experiencing all the things she’s been denied her entire life. **This novel is a prequel to A Love of Vengeance (Wanted Men #1) but can be read as a standalone.** 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Lukas Zavrazin is sitting at his father's hospital bedside thanking God and the surgeon for saving him. There was an attack at a meeting of Russian "families" and his father was shot. Now his father is playing the guilt card by telling him to marry and make babies before it's too late. Dale Vaner is not as upset as she should be to be leaving her home and the man she was living with. She shut her emotions down years ago. Nobody can hurt her anymore. Our hero is a mobster and makes no excuses for it. He loves his family deeply and will do anything to protect them. Our heroine is an independent hard working woman. I don't think she realizes how lonely she is. This is a romance, but not your hearts and flowers kind. The things that happen are not for the squeamish. It is part of a series that I'm already addicted to. You can easily read it on it's own, but be warned. Once you start this series you will want to read them all. They are very exciting, even if you might be terrified to put yourself in our heroines shoes. After ten years of captivity she must learn how to build a new life, without causing more anguish to the people who love her. Torrin Costigan has spent years trying to find the woman he loves, all while the people around him are telling him to move on. His life has changed dramatically while she has been missing. What is left to him may not be enough. This is a difficult read because we have all seen on our television screens that this has happened. For those of us it has not touched it looks finished when the captives are found, but it's not and may never be for those involved. A fascinating book that will keep your mind spinning. He exhales like there’s some war being fought inside him. I don’t think he’ll answer. He has a right to keep his secrets—god knows I should be able to empathize with that. His hand dangling over the steering wheel curls into a fist. “The woman I wanted to spend my life with was gone. I wasn’t in the mood to find a backup.” My chest does that thing again—contracting like someone just hit me in the ribs with a hammer. When Torrin glances at me, it looks like someone’s swinging a dozen hammers at him too. I can’t keep looking at him watching me like that. I know we’re feeling the same thing—the ache of what could have been. The pain of accepting it never can be again. I find myself focusing on the dashboard. I don’t notice it right away, but when I do, I touch the bright coral smear running down the front of it. “You never cleaned it.” I trace my finger down the dried nail polish, reliving the moment like it was happening right now. “I could never bring myself to.” Torrin’s eyes land on the stain from the bottle I accidently spilled when I was painting my toenails on a drive to the beach. “I couldn’t bring myself to just . . . erase it.” I don’t know a tear’s slipped out until it falls onto my arm that’s still reaching out, touching the stain. It’s only one tear, no more are coming, but Torrin doesn’t miss it. He sighs and clenches the steering wheel a little harder. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what to say. How to act around you. I don’t think I’m doing anything right.” His knuckles are white when we exit the freeway. “This is all very surreal. What happened. You being back. I’m totally lost.” I don’t know why he’s apologizing. The only time I’ve felt like life hasn’t siphoned every last drop of emotion out of me is when I’ve been with him. “You’re treating me exactly like you used to.” My fingers fall away from the dash. The good memories have turned to painful ones, a spilled bottle of nail polish included. “I’d rather have you act like nothing happened and I’m the same person you remember than have you second-guess everything you say and do.” His knuckles loosen around the steering wheel. He rolls his fingers, popping them. “Just do what comes naturally to you.” I turn in my seat to face him. “I’ll do what comes naturally to me, and maybe things will get easier.” We’re stopped at the light leading to the zoo, and he looks at me. His forehead is folded into creases. “What comes naturally to me?” He doesn’t pause long enough for me to reply. “I’m not sure that would be helpful to either of us.” It’s not my chest that hurts when he says that—it’s my stomach. It’s not really pain though—it’s something else. I haven’t felt it in a long time, and I know I shouldn’t feel it right now. I can’t let that look in his eyes keep doing this to my stomach. I can’t let the way his chest is rising and falling harder now affect mine. The light changes, thankfully, and his eyes move from me to the road. The air inside the cab takes a while to clear though despite the cracked windows. “That’s when I started to fall in love with you—after my dad died and you acted the exact same around me. You treated me the same as you had every day before. Still rubbing it in my face when you scored higher on a test. Still knocking on my door and seeing if I wanted to shoot hoops. When everyone was understanding of me wanting to lock myself in my bedroom, you got me to play basketball.” He smiles at the windshield like he’s watching the twelve-year-old versions of us playing a game of Around the World. “You brought me back . . . when everyone else just kind of left me behind.” I find my eyes drifting back to the nail polish stain. “And when did you finish falling in love with me? When I finally let you win a game of one-on-one? Or was it the night we . . . you know?” Thinking about that night makes me blush. Talking about it makes me shift. Torrin glances at me for a moment. “I’ll never finish falling in love with you.” Nicole Williams is the New York Times and USATODAY bestselling author of contemporary and young adult romance, including the Crash and Lost & Found series. Book Title: The Lighthouse Keeper Author: Cynthia Ellingsen Genre: Contemporary Women's Fiction Release Date: April 4, 2017 Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions Dawn Conners’s parents are famous for finding historic treasures, but she has a knack for losing things—her job, her boyfriend, and now, her reputation. Thanks to a mud-slinging exposé, Dawn’s late great-grandfather is assumed guilty of stealing silver from a century-old shipwreck. Hoping to clear his name, Dawn returns to Starlight Cove, her idyllic hometown on Lake Michigan, where the doomed vessel sleeps beneath the beam of a ramshackle lighthouse. Her plan: remodel and sell the lighthouse while untangling the perplexing family mystery. Neither task is easy, especially once her well-meaning parents and the quirky locals—including nautical researcher and Starlight Cove’s most eligible bachelor, Kip Whittaker—get involved. Despite their attraction, Dawn is reluctant to trust Kip, or any of the close-knit townsfolk. But as she pieces together the truth, Dawn’s once-shuttered heart opens up. And if she’s willing, the lighthouse might guide her to a place she never expected to find, where the past entwines with a bright new beginning. “Dawn Conners?” a voice called. I snapped out of my reverie and stared. A gorgeous guy in his midthirties dragged a rickety rowboat through the water. His dark hair was windblown, cheeks rough with stubble, and his navy T-shirt clung to a strong upper body. He flashed me a smile I felt all the way down to my toes. “Are you Dawn?” he called. “Yes,” I said, smoothing my hair. Who on earth was he? I watched as he tossed a bowline knot over a metal pole and cinched it with a firm tug. The rope went taut, along with his upper arms. Then he jogged across the sand and came to a halt next to the boardwalk. Midnight-blue eyes surveyed my fitted linen dress, bare legs, and low pumps. In a voice much too husky for polite conversation, he said, “You always wear high heels to the beach?” I flushed. Even though Libby liked to say that my fitted dresses and pinned-up hair made me look like a candidate for public office, I didn’t expect to hear it from a stranger. “Depends on the day,” I shot back. “Do you always look like you just rolled out of bed?” He grinned. “You’re already thinking about me in bed?” “I have an appointment with Kipling Whittaker,” I said. “If you don’t mind, I’d like to—” “You can call me Kip.” Arrgh. I couldn’t believe this. The fact that my mother had led me to believe that this guy was a gentleman of a certain age meant she was up to one thing: matchmaking. In her mind, I came to Starlight Cove for a fun, relaxing summer vacation. That assessment could not be further from the truth. The last thing I wanted to do was waste time flirting with some rumple-haired playboy. Especially one named Kip. MY HIGHLANDER HUSBAND The Clan MacLaren series, book 1 by Nancy Pennick Genre: Historical Romance Lady Juliet Kingston did not expect to find love in the Scottish Highlands. Sent by the king to marry a laird’s son, she had no expectations until she met the strong and stubborn Ross MacLaren. He won her heart, erasing her feelings for the man she left behind. Her happiness is short-lived as the threat of war becomes real, and she is reclaimed by her former love. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Lady Juliet Kingston is being sent to Scotland on orders from the king. She must marry into a highland clan to help secure the peace. Ross MacLaren has no desire for an English wife, but his father insists it could benefit the clan. This is set around the Jacobite rebellion. Our heroine is caught between the two sides. Family loyalty isn't always from who you thought it would be. Past friends can be very dangerous. This is a clean historical romance with quite a few surprises and an ending that confused me, as it doesn't feel finished. I expected something different to happen. EXCERPT #1 “In two days, we will be wed.” He took her hand. “Do ye think ye may come to love me?” Love? No one had ever spoken so directly to her. “Um.” She sank her teeth into her bottom lip. “I just met you.” “Aye, I ken.” He placed his hand around the back of her neck. “And so, I ask permission to kiss ye.” “Kiss me?” Juliet’s mouth went dry. She wished she still had the glass of sweet wine in her hand. You are going to marry him. You have kissed John. You know what it is like. “Yes, you may.” He leaned in closer. The other hand went around her waist, bringing her to him. She felt his breath on her cheek, and the scent of ale was pleasant. His lips touched her face so lightly she jumped. “I willna hurt ye,” he whispered. Juliet’s heart fluttered as she looked into his eyes. Green pools of summer, ones she could dive into and never come out. She nodded and placed her hand on his chest, feeling the hard muscle beneath the coat. She opened her mouth slightly to tell him she was all right, but instead found his lips on hers. Ross tightened his grip on her, pulling her so close she fought for breath, yet she did not want him to stop. His lips felt soft against hers as he pushed her mouth open wider. She felt the tip of his tongue on hers. John had never kissed her like that. John! Juliet pulled back, head spinning. Ross did not let go, still holding her close. He rested his chin on the top of her head, nuzzling her hair. “Ye taste of summer and honey.” “I think you should give credit to the wine.” Juliet tried to laugh but could only think of the kiss. She wanted another. “I will take ye to yer room.” Ross offered his arm. “Because if I dinna, we may have to marry tonight.” EXCERPT #2 “I feel so guilty, Eva.” Juliet looked up with tears in her eyes. “I am betraying him and our love.” “No, you are not. John is in England. You are here, betrothed to another. I understand you love John, but you must forget him.” Eva put the finishing touches on Juliet’s hair for the wedding ceremony. “No, you do not understand,” Juliet wailed. “I feel guilty that I could betray him so easily. I think I could fall in love with Ross. If that is true, was I ever really in love with John?” She covered her face. “I am a horrible, shallow person.” Eva pulled Juliet’s hands away from her face. “You are kind and loving, Juliet. You would not hurt a flea.” She patted the hand she held. “Maybe Ross was meant to be. He is quite handsome if I may say so.” “It is not just his looks. He is kind and gentle. He has made sure I have not been alone for the last two days. He spent most of that time with me, showing me the land, introducing me to the people and talking about his life.” “That is an extraordinary man.” Eva pulled the wedding dress from the wardrobe. “You are lucky.” “And John? What do I do about him?” “Be grateful for the time you spent with him. He is part of your past. Ross is your future.” Amazon ✯ B&N ✯ iTunes ✯ Kobo ✯ Smashwords ✯ NetGalley ✯ Lulu ✯ Goodreads After a great career in teaching, Nancy found a second calling as a writer. Add To GOODREADS WILD AT HEART Scotland, 1812: He’s ferocious and rugged to the bone, an English soldier more at home on the battlefield than in any Society drawing room. And when Major Gabriel Forrester learns that he’s inherited the massive Scottish Highlands title and estate of a distant relation, the last thing he wants to do is give up the intensity of the battlefield for the too-soft indulgences of noble life. But Gabriel Forrester does not shirk his responsibilities, and when he meets striking, raven-eyed lass Fiona Blackstock, his new circumstances abruptly become more intriguing. Like any good Highlander, Fiona despises the English—and the new Duke of Lattimer is no exception. Firstly, he is far too attractive for Fiona’s peace of mind. Secondly, his right to “her” castle is a travesty, since it’s been clan Maxwell property for ages. As the two enter a heated battle of wills, an unexpected passion blazes into a love as fierce as the Highlands themselves. Is Fiona strong enough to resist her enemy’s advances—or is Gabriel actually her hero in disguise? 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Major Gabriel Forrester is a solider through and through. He lives for battle and seems indestructible. When Wellington orders him to his tent after a battle, he is sure he will be disciplined for defying him. He has a huge change coming to his life and maybe his most important battle yet. Fiona has been working hard to keep her Clan fed and working. The land is owned by an absentee Duke, whose family is believed to be carrying a curse. For the last few years things have been happening that make it almost impossible to make any sort of profit. I have not given you the surname of our heroine because that would be a spoiler. For an English solider to try and sort out problems in the highlands is never going to be easy. When someone is actively sabotaging every move he makes, it's time to declare war. A really great adventure / romance, with danger, laughs and a very sexy hero. This story has got great characters that I would love to hear more of. They have lots of work to do. Surely there are more stories to come. I hope. I loved it. I’ve got my sights set on my brother’s best friend. He’s known my family for years. He’s reliable and kind and handsome. Sure, he’s been avoiding me since I was six. Maybe we should go someplace quieter," I suggest. But I realize too late, as it's coming out of my mouth, that it's not too loud in here. In fact, I'd describe the sound level as distinctly subdued. Damn it, I can't take it back, I already said it. Maybe he hasn't noticed how quiet it is, so I add, "Don't you think?" in a whisper. He has to bite his lip to keep from laughing. I'm watching him—he's physically rolled his lip inward to restrain himself. "Everly?" He leans in closer, his voice soft, seductive. "Yes?" "Did you want to be done talking now?" I nod, relieved. "Yes." I sit up a little straighter, ready to grab my bag and hoof it out of here. He relaxes, sitting back in his chair. I stifle a groan. "You're awfully anxious to get in my pants, Boots." I slump back into the very comfortable chair and cross my arms, shrugging. "You might be terrible in bed," I admit. He coughs and that turns into a laugh that he covers with his fist. "Might I?" I nod, my mood serious. "You might." "Your seduction techniques are something, Everly." Oh, my God. He's not denying it. Maybe he has an erectile dysfunction. He's a premature ejaculator. Or he's got a micropenis. Or he's a eunuch. That'd be just my luck, wouldn't it? Wait, I could feel his erection this afternoon in his office. So scratch those last two worries. Still, so many possibilities. I've read articles. "Do you take any medication?" I blurt out. He tilts his head and looks at me, "No," he says, then shakes it slowly. "Do you?" "Just the pill. But you're still wearing a condom. I'm not catching any babies from you." I shudder. "Assuming I'm able to perform." "Yes! Exactly!" Finally we're on the same page. The brothers love each other but really enjoy competing against each other. I'm not going to tell you anything about Emerald because that will spoil a surprise in the book. This is so much fun. Our hero thinks he has the perfect idea. Oh boy! is he wrong. I absolutely love all the characters, even the sisters. Although it's only a short story it's still well worth the five stars. **************************** The Siren's Kiss. A very entertaining and amusing story with fabulous characters. The villain of the tale is very unexpected. I loved every page. AMAZON:US * AMAZON:UK * AMAZON:ES KOBO “Lord Ravenport,” Lady Callahan intoned, closing her fan with an expert flick of the wrist. “Please, allow me to present my daughter Miss Sophie Kendall and her friends Miss Fiona Hartley and Miss Lily Hartley.” Gray exchanged the expected pleasantries, then turned to Fiona. A halo of loose curls crowned her head, and she worried her plump bottom lip. Her pink gown exposed the long column of her neck and the curve of her shoulders; he could almost see her pulse beating wildly at the base of her throat. His instincts screamed for him to run right out of the ballroom, and yet his boots remained rooted to the floor. Worse, before he knew what he was doing he’d asked her to dance. “It would be my pleasure,” she stammered, taking his arm. As he led her to the dance floor he questioned his own good judgment—and not for the first time that day. He’d witnessed Miss Hartley trip and tumble into the orchestra at the Millbrook ball. He’d been dancing with Helena at the time but had paused to help her up. So much had changed since then. He had no idea if Miss Hartley’s dance partner had been to blame for the incident or whether she was prone to falling, but just to be safe he tightened his hand on her waist. And they began moving to the music. The first measure had barely played before she asked, “You received my letter?” “I did,” he said noncommittally, twirling her beneath his raised arm. When she faced him again, she looked him directly in the eye. “What do you think of my . . . offer?” she asked, her voice cracking on the final word. He tamped down an unexpected pang of sympathy. “I think that we hardly know each other.” “True, but that is easily rectified, is it not?” There it was—an unmistakable hint of desperation. And a sense of urgency that even her letter hadn’t conveyed. “It is,” he conceded. “However, I suspect that the more we know each other, the less we’ll like each other.” Cynical but true in his experience. His parents certainly hadn’t grown fonder of each other. Neither had he and Helena. She winced and looked away before regaining her composure. “Perhaps. But we needn’t like each other.” Gray chuckled at that. “I never thought I’d meet someone more jaded than I.” “So, you’ll consider my offer?” she pressed. “I will not,” he said firmly. Under different circumstances, her fortune may have tempted him. But she was clearly intent on using him for her own purpose—and he suspected that she’d set her sights on him for reasons beyond his title. After all, there were half a dozen peers in attendance right now who’d leap at the chance to marry a young and unconventionally beautiful heiress. But he was not one of them. “It seems rather closed minded of you to dismiss me summarily,” she shot back, displaying a boldness that was borderline rude—and refreshing. “If I said I’d consider your offer, I’d only be giving you false hope. Delaying the inevitable.” “The inevitable rejection, you mean,” she clarified. “Yes.” He was still reeling from the sting of Helena’s rebuff and wouldn’t wish anyone that sort of pain and humiliation. “Please,” she begged. “I realize that it’s highly unusual for a woman to propose marriage—” “It’s unheard of.” “Surely you must be curious—as to why I did it.” She looked up at him, her shining blue eyes challenging him to deny the truth of her words. Gray shrugged. “You have your reasons for making the offer; I have my reasons for declining it.” “Give me the opportunity to explain,” she pleaded. “Just a quarter of an hour to make my case. If, after that, you remain unconvinced, I promise I shan’t mention it again.” He must be out of his damned mind to consider engaging in further discussion with Miss Hartley. The very last thing he needed was another conniving, self serving female attempting to interfere with his life. He had opened his mouth to tell her so when someone bumped into his back—hard. Gray’s torso collided with Miss Hartley’s chest, and she stumbled two steps before he wrapped an arm around her slender waist, catching her just before she landed on the parquet floor. She gasped and clung to his jacket, her expression an odd mix of relief and mortification. “Oh dear,” she breathed. Their faces were so close he could see unexpected dark blue flecks in her irises and the individual freckles dotting her nose. “Forgive me,” he said. “For what?” For what indeed? Steering her into the collision? Gripping her waist too tightly? Or for staring at the swells of her breasts and having decidedly wicked thoughts while he should have been shielding her from further embarrassment? Ignoring her question, he asked, “Are you all right?” “I am.” Her cheeks turned a charming shade of pink. She blew out a breath and shot him a shaky smile. “When it comes to dance floor mishaps, I confess I’ve survived much worse.” Gray looked over his shoulder to see how the other couple fared, surprised to find Helena and her dance partner smiling apologetically. And the truth struck him. For the last ten minutes, while he’d been dancing with Miss Hartley, he’d been completely, blissfully unaware of Helena and what she was doing. Even more remarkable, he’d forgotten that she was in the room. “Meet me in Hyde Park tomorrow,” he said to Miss Hartley, mentally cursing his own weakness. “I will listen to what you have to say, but don’t expect anything to change my mind.” The corners of her mouth curled in a triumphant smile. “Thank you. All I ask is that you allow me the chance to explain the advantages of the arrangement—for us both.” “Forgive me if I remain skeptical,” he drawled. “I’ll meet you near the footbridge. Three o’clock?” “You won’t regret this,” she said earnestly, but the prickling sensation between his shoulder blades suggested he would. In spite of her naïveté and candor—or maybe because of those things—Miss Hartley could prove far more dangerous to him than Helena had ever been. Anna Bennett started swiping romances from her mom’s bookshelf as a teenager and decided historicals (with their balls, dukes, and gowns) were the best. Title: Whispered Prayers of a Girl Author: Alex Grayson Genre: Romantic Suspense Release Date: July 10, 2017 A tortured soul meets a damaged family… A lonely man, a widowed woman, a carefree boy, and a broken girl… Can the four come together and help heal each other? Or will fear of the unknown and guilt about the past keep them apart? Her whispered prayers break her... At night, as she’s drifting off to sleep, I press my ear to the door and listen to her heart-wrenching pleas. Her words are agony to my healing heart, but I cherish the sound of them, for that’s the only time I ever hear my beautiful daughter speak. Since her father died two years ago, she’s grown quiet and withdrawn. Cat’s Valley was to be our new beginning, a place where my family and I can heal, but what we find there is so much more. Scars mar his body. Pain has left him in pieces… Four years ago, I lost the two things I cherished most in the world. They were ripped from my arms in the most painful and cruel way. Since then, I’ve kept to myself, preferring to stay away from the pitying looks and murmured rumors. Everything changed when she and her children barged into my life. It was an accident, and I don’t deserve them, but now that they’re here, I’m not sure I can let them go. The Staircase Reader - “Whispered Prayers of a Girl is intense, endearing, heartbreaking and beautiful.” Renee Entress’s Book Blog - “Beautiful, heartbreaking read” 2OCC Reviews - “This book tore my heart to shreds and then slowly mended it until it was bursting.” JUST LIKE LAST NIGHT, I walk silently down the hallway until I make out the murmured whispers from a girl begging God to bring her father back. I gently lay my hand on the door and listen as she slowly melts my heart until it’s a puddle at my feet. My chest aches with the need to walk in there and take away her pain. I’ve never heard such tortured words before. The pain that comes from them is overwhelming and unbearable. Even my own immense pain from losing the ones I loved can’t compare to this. This girl’s pain is so much more. My head falls forward, and I pull in a deep breath to steady my heartbeat. It’s been quiet for several moments, and I know she’s finished. I let my hand fall from the door, and I walk down the hallway back to the living room. I drop to the cushion and let my head fall in my hands. They’re leaving tomorrow. The sun is coming out and the temperatures are supposed to be in the lower fifties, much higher than it’s been in days. The snow won’t melt in one day, but it’ll be enough to let the road crew get to the fallen tree and her truck. My call earlier tonight to Travis confirmed they’ll be working on the roads tomorrow. I’m not ready. It’s unreasonable and irrational, but I don’t want them to leave yet. I’m not ready to give up Daniel’s buoyant behavior or Kelsey’s quiet and depressed mannerisms. I’m not ready to give up Gwen’s giving and resilient personality. I want to keep them here. With me. They’ve brought so much light into my life since they’ve been here, and I want to keep it for a while longer. Which means they need to leave as soon as possible, before my dark world rubs off on them. I want to be selfish and harbor that light, but I won’t. What hurts the most was the dejected look on Daniel’s face when Gwen informed him and Kelsey they’ll be leaving tomorrow. What surprised me was the morose look on Kelsey’s. That girl and her sad eyes have me wrapped around her little finger. And the boy…. Everyone should have a Daniel in their lives. Gwen tried cheering the two up with promised visits to all their friends once the roads were clear enough for it, but I could tell it didn’t work. I could also tell it wasn’t working for Gwen herself. She tried to hide it, I’m not sure if it was just from the kids or from me too, but I know she doesn’t want to leave either. The four of us, in a matter of days, have become close, formed a bond of a sort. And that right there is another reason they need to leave. I can’t let that continue. It’s not something I deserve. It’s something they need to form with a man who’s worthy. A man who will be there for them always. A whole man, not one who’s only half of himself. I give my hair one good pull, letting the pain push away the unwanted feelings, before releasing it with a muted growl. I’m pissed at myself for wanting something I shouldn’t. This family is too good for me. I couldn’t even protect my own when they needed me. How could this family be any different? I refuse to take that chance. I lie back against the cushion and force thoughts of Gwen and her two kids away, and instead let my own demons take over. Closing my eyes, I let the screams of pain and fear flood my mind, reminding me why Gwen, Kelsey, and Daniel are better off without me in their lives. a Rafflecopter giveaway Alex Grayson is the bestselling author of heart pounding, emotionally gripping contemporary romance including the Jaded Series, the Consumed Series, and two standalone novels. Amazon US / Amazon UK / B & N / iBooks / Kobo “I think the bar is calling me,” Thomas announces once my parents have made their excuses and moved on to the next guests waiting in line to greet them. “Are you guys coming?” he says to the group. “Considering you gave us a reprieve from the impending inquisition of my date and our surprise relationship, I think I owe you one.” He moves to my side and claps me on the back. “You know me, I'm never one to turn down a free drink.” “It’s an open bar,” Noah adds dryly. “Even better. My shout then,” Thomas says before turning and making a beeline for the bartender, Noah and Zoe following closely behind him. I reach down and lace Abi's fingers in mine, giving her a meaningful squeeze. “That was intense,” Abi says, walking beside me. “Welcome to any interaction with a Carsen,” I reply. “Hey,” she says stopping both of us in our tracks and turning to face me. She moves in close, wrapping one arm around my back and lifting her hand to my jaw. Sweeping her thumb across my cheek, my taut muscles instantly relax. How the hell does she do that? Letting go of her hands, I lift mine and rest them on her hips, looking into her soft eyes. “You're strung so tight it’s a wonder you don't snap.” I lean into her touch and drop my forehead to hers, not caring that we probably have an audience. “Chalk and cheese have got nothing on me and this life.” “I can tell,” she says quietly, wrapping her arms around my back. “I'm here for you, Cade. Just focus on what happens after the night is over. That’s what I’m doing.” My lips curl up. “Are you telling me you're a sure thing?” I ask with a grin. “No, I'm saying I know I'm gonna get laid because you are. Besides, you owe me at least one orgasm so far.” “I do, do I?” I ask dryly. “At least.” Her lips curl up into a sexy smile. “I always pay my debts,” I murmur, my eyes locked on her lips as my head moves lower. “I might charge interest,” she adds, her voice sounding the same as when I’m building her up to climax; rough, raspy, and hot as hell. “Now that I can pay.” I drop my mouth to her ear, dragging my hands around her waist, holding her hips against my now very hard cock. “Don't turn me on when it’s hours until I can get inside you again.” “Fair's fair. I've been wet since I opened the door and I saw you in your tux,” she whispers before nipping my jaw, her hands roaming up my arms and sweeping down the lapels of my jacket. “And I'm looking forward to feeling that stubble against my thighs too.” “Fuck,” I groan. I’ll let her have that one. It’s a sweet loss though, one that I know will turn out to be a win for both of us once we're back behind closed doors. “Are you two gonna come up for air long enough to have a drink or should we just leave you to your show?” Noah quips and both Abi and I turn our heads toward him, neither of us moving away or letting go. “I'll move when his pants aren't going to cause more of a scandal than the fact he turned up with a date,” Abi jokes. Noah and Thomas’s eyes go wide before they start sniggering, Noah nodding in silent approval. “Finally, a woman that keeps you on your toes, Carsen. About time you were kept in line.” BJ Harvey is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Bliss Series. She also regards herself as a smut peddler, suspense conjurer and a funny romance thinker upper. Title: Kincaid Series: Cerberus MC #1 Author: Marie James Genre: Romance/Contemporary/MC Release Date: March 10, 2016 Blurb I am Emmalyn Mikaelson. My husband, in a rage, hit me in front of the wrong person. Diego, or Kincaid to most, beat the hell out of him for it. I left with Diego anyway. Even though he could turn on me just like my husband did, I knew I had a better chance of survival with Diego. That was until I realized Kincaid could hurt me so much worse than my husband ever could. Physical pain pales in comparison to troubles of the heart. I am Diego “Kincaid” Anderson. She was a waitress at a bar in a bad situation. I brought her to my clubhouse because I knew her husband would kill her if I didn’t. Now she has my protection and that of the Cerberus MC. I never expected her to become something more to me. I was in more trouble than I’ve ever been in before, and that’s saying a lot considering I served eight years in the Marine Corp with Special Forces. ADD TO GOODREADS PURCHASE LINKS AMAZON US / UK EXCERPT “Since you kissed and made up does that mean I get to stay at the clubhouse tonight?” I turn my attention from Em as she flits around the bar like she’s worked here her entire life, and look at Kid, who has a hopeful look on his face. “I hate to burst your bubble, but so long as she’s at Doc’s, that’s where you will be.” He sighs, loudly. “What?” “I just figured since you guys,” he does this weird side pump with his hand at his waist, “you know… I figured you’d be staying there with her.” “I told you we took a nap.” I tilt my already warm beer to my lips and take a sip. “Really? I thought that was code for getting laid or something.” Shadow laughs boisterously beside him. Slapping Kid on the back, “Sorry Kid, if the Prez isn’t getting pussy, it looks like you’re not getting pussy either.” I grin when Kid’s face falls and realizes that what Shadow just said is a pretty accurate analysis of the situation. “If you’re having trouble sealing the deal, Prez, I can give you a few pointers.” The scrape of Shadow’s chair as he moves away from Kid makes my lip twitch in an almost smile. Shadow’s reaction would be fitting almost any time one of the guys made some dumb ass remark about me not being able to handle any type of situation. Kid is lucky I was able to wrap my arms around Emmalyn for a few hours this afternoon, or his ass would be laid out on the nasty bar floor by now. “First off,” I say putting my beer down on the table, “I don’t need any pointers from you.” I tap his chest with my finger. “Second, if Em was just some other piece of pussy to me, I’d have already had my one and done.” I lean in closer, so he knows how serious I am. “You don’t need to worry about my dick and what it’s doing or not doing with Emmalyn.” He reaches up and rubs his chest where my finger hit it. “I’m not worried about your dick, Prez. I’m worried about mine.” Shadow laughs again, and I can’t help but join in at the wimpy sound of Kid’s admission. I hit the side button on my phone to check the time. “You have three hours until I take her home. If you need to get your dick wet, you better do it in a hurry. I expect you back at Doc’s no later than one-thirty.” He jumps with an ear to ear grin, slaps me on the back, and whistles loudly to a blonde across the room. I watch as she downs her drink, grabs her purse, and heads to the front door. “Thanks, Dad,” Kid whispers in my ear as he heads in the direction of his all-too-willing conquest of the night.
