OK...the last of the 3 birthdays in a row is done! Robbie's 5th birthday party was an astronaut space party...so here is your photo journey! INVITATIONS: the boys each received a box instead of just a card (boxes courtesy of USPS priority) Here was the invitation folder... and invitation. (I used the font "neuropol." Looked so spacey!) Under their invitations, they received their official uniform (I told you I was going to love printable iron-ons) they also got a little "preflight energy food" (starburst) DECORATIONS: Of course I couldnt have had a party without a birthday banner...thanks again cricut! Chinese Lanterns! I had to order more after Jane's party. I kept trying to figure out what would look like planets, and beside paper maiche, silver lanterns were the easy way to go! So, I kept the red ones up, added a ton of silver ones in different sizes and 5 small blue ones with NASA on them. This may have messed up the look of the party, but I really wanted cute cookies on a stick. I will be the first to admit that I am NOT a cookie decorator. So, these were everywhere...maybe not super professional looking...but YUMMY!!! Ill post the recipes I used soon. ACTIVITIES: LEVEL 0: Shuttle Orientation As the kids arrived, I had them color space shuttles that had all the parts labeled. LEVEL 1: Rocket Launch If you have kids, and dont have one of these, I would order one RIGHT NOW! They are So fun, and work really well. The boys at the party loved it, and my daughter played with it the whole next day! (its called the ultra stomp rocket) LEVEL 2: Shuttle Repair The boys wore kitchen gloves and had to screw big nuts and bolts together underwater to give them the feel of big gloves in space! LEVEL 3: Collect Moon Rocks I scattered moon rocks all around the yard (kind of like an egg hunt) and let them search for them and add them to their official moon rock pouch. again, loving iron ons and canvas bags from the craft store. The rocks were quite a process. We started by spraying them green, but they were too transparent, so then we primed them and then put 2 more coats of green. In the end, they were EXACTLY what I was going for and the boys LOVED them! LEVEL 4: Tranquilize Aliens OK, we had to throw this in for the boys. We put these laminated cutouts of aliens on the wall and let the boys use a variety of nerf shooters to get them. (aliens thanks to the cricut...again) LEVEL 5: Antigravity Balance it wouldnt be a space party without a little balancing (jumping) on an air mattress. We let them balance a bouncy ball on a plate as they walked across. And then they basically just played on it! UNIFORMS: Rob wore painters coveralls that worked out great...dont try to iron directly on to it, because it melts! So I ironed the nasa symbol and the "trainer rex" label on to paper and pinned them on. I think the boys loved their shirts. I used the nasa symbol and then added the "astronaut training part" to it. the part they loved the best was their names on the back! Space Ranger ROBBIE! FOOD: Well, what can I say...Nasa waters, Mars Mud, Jupiter Jello, and PLANET PIZZA! I went kind of easy on food! CAKE: I couldnt get the idea out of my head...a hanging moon cake! So, I went to home depot, got some hardware, and then Rob and I worked on it the night before...so here it is! The boys thought it was pretty cool that the CAKE was hanging over the table! We let Robbie blow out the candles while it was still hanging... and Rob even cut all the pieces for the boys while it was still hanging! FAVORS: More iron ons! I personalized the bags just like their shirts. They started with Astronaut Ice Cream, Moon Sand, and water... but by the time the boys left they were stuffed full with moon rock bags, kitchen gloves, nuts and bolts, extra food (for the boys who didnt finish) and of course a space ship cookie. We also presented them with their Certificates of Completion, that told them thank you for coming and being part of our launch crew!

Bei uns sind die Kindergeburtstage ja im Jahr gut verteilt. Amy im Januar und Sam im November und dazwischen kommt unser Sandwichkind Lian, denn er hatte gestern,am 11. Juni, Geburtstag. 7 Jahre alt ist er schon geworden, unglaublich! Bei Lian´s Geburtstagen, die ja nun im Sommer liegen, hatte ich bisher nie Probleme mit dem Wetter es war immer super warm und sonnig, ganz klar, dass da bei uns immer Wasserspaß ganz weit oben stand. Mit der Rutsche ins Planschbecken sausen, Verfolgungsjagd mit Wasserpistolen oder das Abwerfen mit Wasserbomben..... da waren alle Kinder dabei und haben den Spaß in vollen Zügen genossen. Aber diesmal machte mir die Wettervorhersage etwas Bauchschmerzen... bewölkt und regnerisch sollte es sein. Was sollte ich denn da mit 6 wilden Jungs + Amy und Sam machen ? Wie der Geburtstag verlief und was wir gemacht haben erfahrt ihr gleich. Aufgeregt wie Lian immer ist kam er natürlich schon morgens um 5 zu uns und wollte gerne Geschenke aufmachen, aber ich konnte ihn zum Glück noch bis 6 Uhr hinhalten, wo wir dann eh alle aufstehen mussten. Da konnte er es natürlich schon kaum noch erwarten endlich seine ersten Geschenke zu öffnen. Einen Roller hat er sich gewünscht und wir haben natürlich als schön gesagt: "Nee nee ihr habt schon genug Fahrzeuge draußen stehen". Da war die Freude natürlich groß, als dann doch ein Roller ausgepackt wurde. Ebenso gab es auch noch ein Skateboard, ein Kostüm von Lego Ninjago und 2 Bücher. Ein Buch ist ebenfalls von Ninjago und das anderen ein Fußballbuch von tiptoi. Geplant war ein wenig das Ritter Thema aufzugreifen, ganz passend, wo sie nächste Woche Projektwoche zum Thema Ritter haben. Weil mir der Kleine im Moment echt nicht viel Zeit für irgendwas lässt fielen zB die Einladungskarten dieses mal auch recht einfach aus. Ich habe dafür einfach ein Schwert gebastelt und den Einladungstext ausgedruckt und drauf geklebt. Ihr müsste nur die Teile ausschneiden, wie ihr sie im Bild rechts seht. Alles zusammen kleben und zum Schluss noch mit einem Silberstift das ganze abrunden. Wie gesagt, der Text wurde ausgedruckt, sieht so ordentlicher aus. So ein paar Dekoelemente gab es natürlich auch. Wie gesagt diesmal wurde alles nicht ganz so viel, weil es mir echt zeitlich schwer fiel wirklich was großes auf die Beine zu stellen. Aber ich glaube die Kids stört es nicht ob da eine Deko mehr oder weniger ist. Unsere Motive für diese Party waren, wie ihr eben schon bei den Geschenken sehen konntet, ein Drache, ein Burgturm, das Schwert und der Ritterschild. So zierten eben diese auch z.B unsere Snackboxen, welche mit Erdnussflips gefüllt waren. Die Strohhalme bekamen auch ein Schild und damit immer jeder weiß welche Becher ihm gehört kamen noch die Anfangsbuchstaben vom Vor- und Nachnamen drauf. Mit kleinen Schwertern, die ich auf Zahnstocher geklebt habe konnte auch unsere Kuchenstückchen noch verziert werden. Als Kuchen habe ich übrigens einfach ein Blech Fantakuchen gebacken und dann daraus einen Schild geschnitten und den Rest, wie ihr oben seht, in kleinere Kuchenstücke geschnitten und mit den Schwertern verziert. Die Hälfte der Zeit hatten wir ja noch, ich will nicht sagen gutes Wetter, aber es war trocken. Das haben wir natürlich noch genutzt, um draußen ein bisschen was mit Wasser zu machen. Da gab es für jeden eine Spritzpistole, womit sie erstmal eine ganze Zeit lang beschäftigt waren. Und das Highlight waren ja die Snoballs von Glibbi. So eine Schneeballschlacht im Sommer ist doch echt mega lustig. Als wir dann drinnen waren wollten sich die Jungs eigentlich am liebsten selbst beschäftigen, in Lian´s Zimmer wurde gespielt, mit dem Skateboard gefahren usw. Ich hatte ja auch ein paar kreative Sachen geplant, aber ich musste feststellen, dass es bei Jungs einfach nicht so ist wie bei Mädchen, die für jede kreative Idee zu haben sind. Wenigstens zu einer Aktion konnte ich sie dann doch überreden. Ich hatte aus Moosgummi Stempel gemacht, mit denen die Kinder dann die Leinwände mit Rittermotiven gestalten konnten. Anleitung DIY Stempel Für die Stempel einfach das gewünschte Motiv aus Moosgummi ausschneiden und an eine Seite eine Holzkugel oder ähnliches mit Heißkleber dran kleben, um den Stempel dann besser festhalten zu können. Danach können die Kids dann die Stempel mit Hilfe eines Pinsels mit Farbe anmalen und los stempeln. Zum Schluss bekam noch jedes Kind ein kleines Tütchen mit ein paar Kleinigkeiten und etwas Süßem drin. Dazu habe ich einfach ein Tütchen mit den selbstgemachten Stempeln bestempelt. Alles in allem war der Geburtstag auch ohne das gute Wetter ganz schön. Klar wäre es auch für die Kids cooler gewesen den ganzen Tag im Pool zu verbringen, aber auch so war es schön. Aber ich musste wieder feststellen, das es doch echt einen großen Unterschied zwischen Mädchen und Jungen Geburtstagen gibt.

Below are loads of ideas for hosting a fabulous Minecraft themed birthday party! Including games, activities and decorations. All of these are my own creations that I made for my son's birthday party. I have made my templates available free for you to download - I just ask that you do not use these for resale. Minecraft Treasure Hunt For this extremely exciting Minecraft treasure hunt, you will need: Minecraft papercraft blocks, a large sheet of cardboard, blu-tack and a printer to print off my downloadable minecraft treasure hunt template PDF. Instructions: Download and print off the template. Use the first 5 pages to assemble your treasure hunt board as pictured above. It's good to stick this onto a nice big sheet of cardboard (from an old cardboard box). Next, cut out the square clues (on the white background). I find it's handy to laminate the clues so that the blu-tack can stick on nicely (also good if you want to re-use them). Stick each clue onto a Minecraft block (or other suitable objects), then hide the blocks all around your garden or party venue. At the blow of a whistle, release the children!! They will then run around frantically searching for the blocks. Once they find one, they must bring it up to the board, detach the clue, then stick it onto the relevant place on the treasure hunt board. Once all clues are in place, the game is complete. This is a real team effort game - with no winners or losers, so it's perfect for those party girls and boys that have a hard time not winning on their birthday!! Pin The Tail on the Pig All you need for this simple game, is a large piece of cardboard for the back, a few squares of pink, white and black paper, a bit of card for the curly tail, and a blindfold! For the sign, I downloaded the Minecrafter font from Dafont.com. In the background, you'll see my "nether portal" made from purple and black crepe paper strips. Minecraft Pixel Art Craft Activity For this very simple Minecraft craft activity You will need: Self-adhesive foam mosaic squares, and, my downloadable printable Minecraft Pixel Art Template PDF. This is a great activity for those children that are a little bit shy or just need to calm down a bit!! Use the sticky squares to create mosaic pixel flowers or Minecraft objects. This is something they can take home too! Creeper Target Practice Game! This is a very simple game that you can use with NERF guns, balls, or beanbags. Put a marker on the ground where the children must stand behind, then throw your ammunition into the holes. Each hole scores a different amount of points. Have a practice and make sure it's not too difficult. The holes will need to be quite big for younger children. How to make a Creeper: We used one very large old cardboard box, with a Minecraft Box Creeper Head on top. We stuck multi-coloured green squares all over it, then cut out the holes and added points. Very simple! Make your own Minecraft Crafting Table This crafting table is mostly just for decoration, but it also acted as a wonderful surface for playing the official Minecraft Card Game on. What you will need: one large square cardboard box, brown electrical tape, white electrical tape Minecraft Brewing Stand This was just a fun little activity for those kids that love bubbles! Here's my downloadable printable template for Minecraft potion labels PDF template. Just cut them out and stick around mini bottles of bubbles. I then bought some large bubble wands, and duct taped then around a tree (this stops them from spilling the bubble juice everywhere! Genius idea!) Minecraft Happy Birthday Bunting This bunting looks fantastic at any Minecraft birthday party. Here's my Minecraft Bunting downloadable PDF template for you. BEWARE: this uses up a lot of printer ink so could be quite expensive to print!! Nether Portal I made this nether portal out of purple, white and black crepe paper streamers and positioned it over the door. A really great decoration indoors or outdoors. I made the sign using the Minecrafter font downloaded from Dafont.com. Minecraft Flowers I bought a load of artificial flowers from IKEA, including sunflowers, roses, tulips and lots of other flowers that resembled those in Minecraft, and "planted" them on the lawn. A really simple decoration. You might also notice in the picture an inflatable pickaxe - which the children had a lot of fun with! TNT Birthday Cake Red Velvet Minecraft TNT birthday cake decorated with buttercream and a little black fondant for the wires and lettering. Very easy to make as long as you have square cake tins and a good piping nozzle! Of course we had an fountain cake firework instead of candles!! Slime Jelly Blocks I'll be honest - none of the kids actually wanted to eat these - but they certainly squealed over them! Very simple to make. Use lime green jelly using half the water suggested on the packet, pour into a square tin lined with clingfilm, add in halved grapes and leave to set in the fridge. When firm, remove and slice into squares with a sharp knife. Minecraft Party Food Table Below are loads of ideas for your Minecraft party food! I bought 3 table cloths - light green, dark green & brown, then cut squares out so that it resembled Minecraft grass. I decorated the table with Minecraft papercraft blocks, square green paper plates, and made food labels. Like the food labels? I've made 12 downloadable and printable minecraft food labels here. Good luck trying to find food that matches them!
