Hello, and thank you so much for visiting! I've entered this card in Kylie Bertucci's August International Blog Highlights contest! I hope you like it--and, if you do, I'd be very grateful if you would vote for me, please! Please click on the button below to go to Kylie's blog, and vote by clicking on the top right corner of the thumbnail of my card (#7), until you see the heart turn red. Thank you so much for your support!! You probably know that I really like ocean-themed cards. I hadn't designed a card using our Waves of Inspiration stamp set in a while, and I wanted to try it using two of our returning colours--Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon. I heat embossed the wave, and then added colour to it with our Small Blending Brushes. The card was quite quick and easy to make! Thanks very much for stopping by--and for voting!!! If you like my card, please vote here--then remember to click on the top right corner of the thumbnail of my card (#7) until the heart turns red--that way you know that your vote is registered. Hello, and thanks for visiting! And thank you so much for voting for my card--it placed third in Kylie Bertucci's March International Blog Highlights competition!! (If you haven't seen my "Top Ten" card, it is posted at the bottom of this blog entry.) Now I get to participate in Kylie's Top Ten Winners Hop! I am so honoured to be part of a group of tremendously talented designers from all around the world. Waves of Inspiration Thank You Card I am in love with our Waves of Inspiration Collection! My newest card is above. This card was inspired by one I saw that Linda Dalke, from Australia, made. I used our stunning new Waves of the Ocean suite. The Waves of Inspiration stamp & die bundle is an early release item in our upcoming new 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue. The Blue Foils Specialty Paper (as well as our gorgeous Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper [#159982] and Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels [#159396]) are only available while quantities last--and I'm pretty sure they won't be around for long! If you live in Canada (and don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator) I'd love to be your demonstrator!! Find these products in my store by clicking on the links below! This card actually came together pretty quickly! I stamped the wave image in Versamark, and then heat embossed using white Stampin' Emboss Powder. I added colour with our amazing Blending Brushes. I think that this stamp makes a pretty realistic looking wave! I mounted the card front on a Coastal Cabana cardstock layer, embossed the blue foil layer with the Splatters 3D embossing folder, and adhered that to a Coastal Cabana card base. The card front was added to the blue foil with Dimensionals. The sentiment (a partially inked stamp from On The Horizon) is cut with one of the Waves dies, threaded with a "ribbon" of Supple Shimmer Specialty Paper, and added to the card front with Dimensionals. I was going to add three Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels, but felt it had enough shine already with the embossing, the foil, and the shimmer ribbon. Step by Step Instructions for Making the Waves of Inspiration Card: Cut the following layers: Coastal Cabana cardstock: 11" x 4-1/4", scored at 5-1/2; 3-7/8" x 2-7/8"; 3" x 3/4" (for sentiment--die cut with Waves label die) Shimmery White cardstock: 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" Blue Foils Specialty Paper: 5-1/4" x 4" (emboss with Stripes &Splatter 3D Embossing Folder) Supple Shimmer Specialty Paper (white iridescent): 4" x 1/4" Stamp the wave on Shimmery White cardstock with Versamark, heat emboss with white embossing powder. Add ink to sky (Balmy Blue) and wave (Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, Misty Moonlight) with Blending Brushes. Adhere to Coastal Cabana layer. Attach to blue embossed foil using Dimensionals. Adhere to card base. Stamp sentiment in Pacific Point, cut ends of the Supple Shimmer banner at an angle, thread through holes of label, and use Dimensionals to attach to card front. The Waves of the Ocean Suite Collection is absolutely stunning!! As I mentioned, some of the products are available only while quantities last, so order quickly if you want them! The product links are below. Here is the card I submitted for this month's contest. Thanks again for voting it into third place! To see more photos and directions for the card below, click here. Welcome to our Make Waves Blog Hop, if you arrived here from Nel's blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance it's nice to see you, you can continue the hop by clicking on the link at the end of this post. The Make Waves kit is wonderful, the colours of the papers and the embellishments are fantastic. It's is a mermaid theme but don't be fooled you can use these papers and compliments for any number of different projects. I have used some of the papers and this wonderful stamp set in my projects. A few friends and I decided on a High Tea for our Christmas get together and I have created a layout with these photos. Who would have thought these papers could be used for A Christmas layout? I have used the pale pink, and the shaded green papers with one of the Zip Strips. To decorate the page I used the Christmas tree and reindeer stamps from the Beary Christmas stamps and thin cuts set Z4047. This set is still available in the Going Soon section of my website. I stamped the trees on vellum with Vesamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. The reindeer was also stamped on vellum then heat embossed with the gold embossing powder. I coloured the baubles on the tree with a Shin Han Marker. My tea setting was so pretty, I thought I would replicated it using last year's May Stamp of the Month and the sentiment was perfect for these photos as well. I am thrilled with how this card turned out, I saw a similar party invitation in an Etsy Shop online and couldn't wait to try making it as a birthday card. I cut the card using a shape from the Artiste Cricut cartridge, it's on page 33 (Accent 4) The Lagoon cardstock was cut at 6.25" and the white at 6" The mermaid is cut out from the mermaid paper. The mermaid stamp was too big for this card. The little sparkly flower embellishments are the cutest things I have ever seen. To make the card fold the cricut shape in half, you will need to cut away sections of the card to get the clam shell shape. I have drawn lines on the photo below so you can see what I mean. These photos show the pop up sections that I added the mermaid, flowers, starfish and grasses to. This card is called a Z fold card and is really easy to make. I used one of the cards from the Card and Envelope Value Pack X254. The front of the card is folded back on it's self then you decorate as desired. Finally add the Z fold strip, this strip allows you to add extra decorations. Thanks again for stopping by, to continue the hop click here to go to Kara's blog, I am sure she has created something really special. Please take a moment and leave a comment it is always appreciated.
