You can never have too many shuttles! It's always a good idea to match the shuttle size to the width of the project no matter the actual width of the loom. So it comes in handy to have a variety of sizes of shuttles available to work with. I use the pick-up sticks when I'm working a pattern in just a section of my weaving like a twill on the ends or if I'm working a finger-manipulation pattern like leno. These loom accessories are handcrafted by Kromski and can be used with any weaving loom including other brands of rigid heddle looms, floor looms, and table looms. The Open Weave Wrap pattern introduces a new woven knitting technique. The background is eliminated so you are only working with warp and weft threads. The pattern has detailed how-to visuals and leaves itself open to use yarns from your stash or purchase yarns using your color choices. The knitting is not difficult, it requires only knit and purl stitches. You will be required to work both stranded and intarsia knitting. I suggest using bobbins to hold your warp yarns. West Wool Tandem version requires ±660 yards/605m, the Corrie Worsted version requires ±560 yards/515m This techniques opens up a whole new world to explore in knitting. While working it, try and think of variations that you could try such as smaller warp threads or larger wefts. There is so much experimentation to be done with this technique.
