Jesus Walks on Water I have the last two lessons out of sequence. That's what happens when you go on vacation and then try to catch up! So, Jesus walking on water comes before His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. I'm not including an Easter lesson because at our church we have a sunrise service and no Sunday School that day. Here's the lesson on Jesus' Walking on Water. Print these out on card stock. I usually cut them out prior to the class because the younger children have a hard time cutting them out. Then, color your masterpiece! Ella colors her craft. Hannah, Mattison and Parker display their completed crafts. What fun!

This is a one line style where I draw everything without lifting the pen. This is based on the story of when Peter is walking on the water toward Jesus Christ and starts to doubt his faith. By doing so, starts to sink. Jesus reaches forth His hands, and saves him. We learn a valuable lesson from Peter that day. This is a PDF download. Once the item is purchased, you will be able to download the PDF form of the picture. Free printable Bible lesson about Jesus' childhood and visit to the temple from Luke 2:41-52. Includes worksheets, coloring sheets, crafts, games and more.
This is the display I used for this lesson. It is the same set for the Resurrection of Jesus. I wrapped up one of the guys with gauze to be Lazarus, used Jesus and the two women. You can see it here. This lesson is about Lazarus and is found in John 11:1-45 and John 12:17-18. He had two sisters named Mary and Martha. They lived in Bethany. Mary and Martha sent for Jesus because Lazarus was sick. The message stated, “the one you love is sick.” Jesus loved Mary, Martha and Lazarus. But when Jesus heard about Lazarus being sick, He stayed two more days where He was. Lazarus died during that time, and he was buried before Jesus could visit him. Jesus told His Disciples that they were going to Judea. They asked Him “Are you sure? The Jews have been wanting to stone you.” Jesus told them it would be all right, He needed to go see their friend Lazarus. Lazarus is sleeping, and I will wake him up. They told Jesus that if Lazarus is sleeping, then he would get better. But Jesus told them that Lazarus was dead. Jesus told them that He was glad they weren’t there so they would believe what they see. And then He told the Disciples "Now, let’s go to him." When Jesus arrived at Bethany, Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. Bethany was two miles away from Jerusalem. And many of those people had come to be with Martha and Mary to comfort them. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him. Mary stayed at the house. Martha told Jesus that if He would have been there, Lazarus wouldn’t have died. But she said, I know that whatever you ask God, He will give You. Jesus told her that her brother would live again. Jesus asked her if she believed that whoever believed in Him would live even though they died. Martha replied that she believed in Him. “I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world.” After she answered Jesus, Martha secretly went to find her sister Mary and told her that Jesus had come and was looking for her. Immediately, Mary went to Jesus. Jesus wasn’t in town yet; He was waiting for her where He had met Martha. The people who were with her, comforting her, thought she was going to the grave to cry about Lazarus. When Mary came to Jesus, she fell at His feet and told Him that Lazarus wouldn’t have died if He’d been there. When Jesus saw her crying, he felt sorry for her, and He was upset that she was so sad. Jesus asked her where Lazarus was laid at and the people said “Lord, come and see.” vs. Jesus wept. (The shortest verse of the Bible, but very important.) Jesus was upset, even though He knew He would raise him from the dead. It still upset Him. The people said, “See how much He loved Lazarus!” Some of them said if Jesus healed the blind, couldn’t He have kept Lazarus from dying? When they came to the tomb, it was a cave cut into the rock with a stone in front of it. This tells us that Mary, Martha and Lazarus had more money than the average family. This is the family burial place and only the rich could pay to have it cut out of the rock. Jesus was so upset when He came to the tomb. He said, “Take away the stone.” Martha said there is going to be a bad smell since Lazarus has been dead for four days! Jesus told her that she would believe after this. They took the stone away from the tomb and Jesus lifted up His eyes and said “I am thankful that You have heard Me. I know that You always hear Me. Because of these people standing here, I am saying this so that they may believe that You sent Me.” After that, Jesus said really loud “Lazarus, come forth.” Lazarus, who had been dead, came out with the wrappings around his hands and feet and face. Jesus said to unwrap him and the people that were there with Mary and Martha saw what Jesus had done and they believed in Him. The project is a cut and glue of Lazarus coming out of the tomb. I cut the rock, used my craft knife to make the slit for the rock tab and glued the rock cover before class. The students can lift the rock flap and will cut & glue Lazarus. It is available in color and black & white. You can download it here. For this lesson, I purchased gauze and let them wrap it around cheap plastic people I have found. Or, I have used pretzels and string cheese and let them wrap the string cheese around the pretzel. Click here to print the worksheet. We continue the Miracles lapbook today. The students will leave them in class until we finish the miracles lessons, then they take them home. Click on the lapbook to see it. I decided to limit this lapbook to the miracles that Jesus did to prove Himself. We will study Malchus, Resurrection of Jesus and Jesus Returns to Heaven, etc., but I did not include these. This continues our series learning about Jesus. This is week 4 in the fourth quarter of a year of Preschool Bible Study that I assist with on Wednesday evening. This week we reviewed the Wise Men visiting Jesus and studied Jesus staying behind in the temple. The scripture is Luke 2:41-52. Mary, Joseph & Jesus live in Nazareth and Jesus is 12 years old now. As Jesus grew up, the Bible tells us He became stronger in spirit and was filled with wisdom. (Luke 2:40) Joseph & Mary went to Jerusalem every year to celebrate the Passover. The Passover was a special time of worship to remember God taking care of His people. They traveled with a group of people. When Joseph & Mary had completed their worship in the temple, they left Jerusalem to return home. But Jesus had stayed behind, and they didn’t know Jesus wasn’t with them! Mary and Joseph started looking for Jesus after a day of traveling. They asked their relatives and friends if they had seen Jesus. Mary & Joseph couldn’t find Jesus anywhere! When Mary and Joseph didn’t find Jesus, they went back to Jerusalem looking for Him. (Talk about being lost and how it would feel not knowing where their son is.) Finally, after three days of searching for Jesus, they found Him in the temple. Jesus was sitting with the teachers! Jesus was asking questions and listening to their answers. When Joseph & Mary found Him, they were amazed that He was calmly sitting there while they were frantically looking for Him! They asked Jesus why He had done this! Jesus answered them saying 'Why are you looking for Me? Don't you know that I would be doing God’s work? Mary & Joseph were so happy to find Jesus safe! Mary, Joseph & Jesus left Jerusalem to return home to Nazareth where Jesus continued to grow up. The students love these foldables. Print both sides, then fold as you see above. The 'doors' to the temple will open and Jesus is inside with the temple priests. This includes the color and black and white. Click here to download. The printable for this lesson is a Bible Review book. It is a great project for this lesson since Jesus was studying at the temple. If you want to use the above for handouts, this would be good to make one for the teacher to review. There are several ways to put them together, depending on how much time you have. Jesus would have been studying the Old Laws and people, so we used this to match the people to what they did in the Bible. This is a great discussion starter. Click here to find the download and different instructions for putting it together and how to use it. Yes, here is another map! But they love them, so I made this one to review the family traveling to the temple, I covered up Jesus with my finger for Mary & Joseph to begin their trip home, then back to find Jesus, then they all return home. This includes the color and the black & white to print. Click here to download the map. You can print the lesson with a review of last week. Click here to download the new updated songs. When Jesus was 12, He and His family went to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. On the way home, Mary and Joseph noticed Jesus was missing and returned to look for Him. They found Him in the temple talking with the teachers there. The teachers were amazed. These activities are about Jesus in the temple as a boy.

This one-page printable includes color and black and white. Click here to download. Print (this works best on cardstock) and cut around outside edges leaving the tabs attached. Fold the top tab of the dove backwards and glue to the back of the top between the brackets. This is a lift the flap and can be folded to the front after Jesus is baptized. Cut to the edges of the paper to keep the tabs for the water on and fold the tabs on the sides of the water back and glue along the sides of the bottom to the back of the background. This will make the water pop out and be rounded in the front and help it stand up. The standup Jesus shows Him walking to John, then turn Him around and He can go into the water and go under (lay sideways) to be baptized. When Jesus comes up, bring the dove to the front.
