When my friends at Waffle Flower Crafts asked if I'd like to 'test drive' their newest blending brushes of course I jumped at the chance! When I opened their Shader Brush PLUS Sampler Pack I knew just the stencil I needed to give them a proper workout: their Postage Collage Bundle, of course! When I'm stenciling anything, I reach for my Waffle Flower Grip Mat first, then I cut a few of the Postage Collage panels and mount the masking mat over the top which perfectly masks off the edges of the 'postage stamps.' Here is how that looks: The Shader brushes 0+, 1+, and 2+ are perfect for blending color around the edges of each 'stamp.' I make sure to use 'Copic friendly' inks when blending, and stamping - take a peek at the darling Cookie Time set I picked up during their Moving Sale stamped in chocolate brown ink: Of course, EVERY member of the family wants in on the cookie making process at Christmastime, right? Even the kitty! A bit of simple Copic coloring, and this one is ready for Christmas card sending! Here it again in blues using the larger Shader 3+ when I have lots of open space. One is included in the Sampler PLUS Pack or they are sold in a pack of 5. You'll find the price is quite reasonable, and they clean up easily on a microfiber cloth. [Staining is inevitable but does not affect the brushes.] Thank you, Waffle Flower! =] Michele

Hello friends! I am so excited to be hopping along with the Waffle Flower team today! For their latest release, Waffle Flower has merged two of my favorite crafts- card making and cross stitching! Their new Stitchables products are so fun and innovative! Waffle Flower’s Stitchable products are now available in the store! In case you missed it, Nina introduced the beginner friendly Stitched Borders here, and the Pinking Shapes and Holiday Shapes for more experienced users. You can also find some Coordinating Products here! I created two cards for the hop today! I pulled inspiration some two patterns I stitched last year. The first one is part of Hands On Design's Chalk Full: Harvest and inspired by Priscilla Blain. I pulled one flower from the pattern to stitch on the Stitchables Pinking Circle Die. I cut the die from black cardstock and gave it a chalkboard look with white pigment ink before I stitched the flower. The design was meant to look like chalkboard art and I love that you can diecut any color paper to use with the Stitchable Pinking Dies. Endless possibilities, right? Here is a closer look: This was stitched using overdyed threads by Gentle Arts Sampler Threads and Classic Colors. I also used the new Stitched Sentiment Stamp Set for the sentiment and stitched with my sewing machine on either side of it to keep with the theme. My second card features the smallest llama from the Llama Lump pattern by Plum Street Samplers. I stitched him up on some linen textured kraft cardstock cut with the Stitchable Pinking Rectangle Die. This was also stitched using overdyed threads from Gentle Arts Sampler Threads, Classic Colors, and Weeks Dye Works. You can really see the varigation in the grass and the llama's fur :) The sentiment is also from the Stitched Sentiments Stamp Set. The simple hello is perfect for this card! These dies really sparked my imagination to think up a bunch of fun things to do with them! I can't wait to share some of the other things I've been stitching soon! This package of four Stitchable Perforated Pinking Heart Shapes is from Waffle Flower Crafts. These hearts are part of the Stitchable Cards Collection. These hearts have a pinking edge around them and the middle is for cross-stitching. These hearts are made from heavy white cardstock which is 350 gsm weight. These shapes are equivalent to a 10 count Aida cloth. It is recommended by Waffle Flower Crafts to use a #20 to #22 tapestry needle. For cross-stitches, use four to six strands of embroidery floss or #5 pearl cotton. For backstitches, use two to three strands of embroidery floss (all products mentioned are sold separately). It is also recommended you handle these hearts with clean, dry hands to avoid soiling. The stitch count is 28 x 33. These heart shapes measure 3.5" wide x 3" high.
