Nachdem ich diesen traumhaften Gartenpavillon gesehen habe, wünsche ich mir NATÜRLICH kein kleines Holzhäuschen mehr für meinen eigenen Garten zu meinem 50. Geburtstag, sondern GENAU dieses hier. Gott sei Dank habe ich ja noch einige Jährchen Zeit, um meinen Mann von der NOTWENDIGKEIT dieses Geschenkes zu überzeugen.Ach so, den Garten, den man da durch die zauberhaften Rundbogenfenster sieht, hätte ich NATÜRLICH auch gerne noch dazu... *lach*. So, nun sind wir aber wirklich in Ruhe durch die ingesamt 50 Schaugärten geschlendert. Ich hoffe, es waren viele Anregungen und Ideen für Euch dabei. Ich kann Euch einen Besuch bei Jan Boomkamp wirklich nur empfehlen - solltet Ihr nicht allzu weit von Borne in den Niederlanden entfernt wohnen. Ich wünsche Euch noch eine wunderschöne Woche - hier soll der Sommer wieder Einzug halten! Endlich!

In this image the gold-yellow foliage of the 'Stardust' conifer contrasts with the maroon foliage of Acer palmatum 'Trompenburg', the red camelllia flowers and the salmon coloured, maturing leaves of Pieris japonica 'Flaming Silver'. Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Stardust' is very similar to Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Golden Wonder'. It is a conifer which has bright golden-yellow foliage that maintains good colour throughout the year and looks even more stunning when contrasted against other colours such as shades of red or blue. Technical Details The 'Stardust' could ultimately reach 9 metres in height. However we have maintained ours to a height around 2 metres! The conifer in the photo was planted in 1990 and since then we have shaped it with secateurs before maintaining it to the same size in recent years by once yearly electric ‘hedgecutter clipping’. During the early years of growth and development of the ultimate desired shape and form of the conifer, it is essential that the lead shoot is not removed until after the desired height of the conifer has been reached! We now lightly clip the foliage once a year, usually in June or July after the prolonged surge of feathery new growth in spring has started to look untidy. Within a month of the clipping, extra new growth appears and there is a nice, generalised, golden-green ‘glow’ which will last until the surge of bright feathery new spring growth in the next year.

Taempana näkyy uusi mansikkapenkki, tyttären kesäkukkalaatikko ja perunalaatikossa tämän kesän kokeilu: ananasmansikka. Kasvihuoneen takana on pari avomaakurkkua ja raparperia, säleikköä vasten on nousemassa tuoksuherneitä. Kasvihuoneessa suklaaminttu rehottaa tomaattien kyljessä. Nyt toivotaan sopivassa suhteessa sateita ja aurinkoa, malttamattomana jo odottelen uusia perunoita ja mansikoiden kypsymistä!

Espaliered fruit trees are a great way to grow fruit in small spaces. Trees can be trained to a variety of attractive shapes and grown against a fence or wall, as a free-standing tree or even as a potted plant. In addition to saving space, espaliered fruit trees have other benefits. These include good light to the fruit (which helps improve development), ease of picking and ease of protecting the tree against frost or birds. It's much easier to net an espaliered tree. If you are training your tree against a north-facing brick wall, you may be able to grow varieties that would normally require a warmer climate.
