Lisa designed the Susie Blouse (previously known as the Ultimate Blouse!) after finding a gap in her wardrobe for a simple yet versatile everyday top. A true staple, the Susie Blouse has three variations – casual short sleeves, a chic 3/4 length sleeve or a smart long sleeve with a cuff – there’s a Susie for every occasion! The flattering, loose fitting bodice is shaped with bust darts and features a v-neck with flat collar. With no tricky fastenings it is ideal for beginner dressmakers who want to make their first top, as well as more advanced sewers who fancy trialling some trickier fabrics. See what other people have been making in the Susie Blouse Gallery and on Instagram with the hashtag #soisusieblouse!

All of my patterns are also available for purchase on my website for a slightly lower price :) This sweater is based on a vintage Ralph Lauren sweater with two ducks flying across it. I adapted the idea to fit onto a crochet graph for this sweater. This pattern is best suited for a confident beginner or intermediate crocheter who is comfortable with color changes. It’s also a made to measure pattern so you can ensure the perfect fit- please reach out to me if you have any questions about sizing!! This pattern was edited by talented crocheters to ensure that the pattern is as easy to understand as possible but if you get confused at all, don’t hesitate to message me on Instagram (@made.in.the.moment). You will need: 4.5mm hook 10-11 colors of your favorite Aran weight (weight 4) yarn. You can use acrylic, cotton, or another material if you prefer. This is made to measure and you don’t have to meet gauge so it just depends on your preference. 1 background color for the majority of the sweater. I used 6 skeins. 3 shades of brown for the body: dark, medium, and light. 3 shades of green for the head: dark, medium, and light. A really small amount of yellow, orange, black, and white. (if you prefer, you can make the beak and the leg of the duck the same color so you’d only need yellow or orange but not both) Scissors Yarn needle Stitch markers Clips (optional) Here are links to the yarns I used: 6 skeins of this yarn in the color Midnight: https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/p/stylecraft-special-chunky dark brown: Impeccable by Loops and Threads in Chocolate Brown, https://bit.ly/3EoOpCK medium: brown Paintbox Aran Coffee Bean, https://bit.ly/3EoOpCK light brown: Paintbox yarn in Light Caramel, https://bit.ly/3EoOpCK dark green: Paintbox Aran in Racing Green, https://bit.ly/3EoOpCK medium green: Impeccable by Loops and Threads in Forest, https://bit.ly/3rxZhKQ light green: Paintbox Aran in Pistachio Green, https://bit.ly/3EoOpCK Orange: Paintbox Aran in Melon Sorbet, https://bit.ly/3EoOpCK Happy making!!
