This is a listing for a vintage set of two Henry David Thoreau's books. The first book is Thoreau's Walden, published by Country Beautiful Corporation in 1976 and it includes nature photographs throughout. The second is The River, published by Bramhall house in 1963. CONDITION: Overall the books are in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and previous use. There are no rips, tears, or missing pages, and the spines are sturdy and intact. There is a sticker on the front interior page of The River. Both books show slight discoloration to the edges of the interior pages. The covers shows minor wear mostly around corners/edges. This beautiful vintage hardback edition of Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe was published by Daily Express Publications in 1933. The cover has a black leatherette finish, with golden gilt detailing on the spine. There is no dust jacket. This lovely vintage book is in good condition for it's age, but there is some light wear to the corners and spine ends. The boards and spine show some minor marks and the text block edges are significantly tanned with a small stain to one edge. Inside, the pages show light age toning and sporadic marking but are otherwise clean and bright. There are no inscriptions, but there is slight cracking to the gutter at the half title page. The book features a handful of beautiful black and white illustrations. Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13cm x 3cm. The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).

This stunning antique hardback edition of The Little Larrikin by Ethel Turner was published by Ward Lock and Co Ltd. The book itself is undated but there is a dedication inside dated 1902. So the book is likely to be from the early Edwardian era. The book is bound in green cloth with blind stamped decoration in gold gilt to the front board and spine. It's in good condition for it's age, but there is wear to the corners which has caused minor splitting in the cloth. The boards show minor marks and there is some scuffing to the back board. The spine is faintly sunned, and there is crushing to the spine ends which has caused the tiniest split to the tail of the spine. The board edges show light shelf wear. Inside, there is a written inscription on the reverse of the frontispiece. The pages show age toning and foxing throughout but the text is clear and bright. There are some superficial cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound. The book features a handful of beautiful black and white illustration plates. Dimensions approximately 19.5cm x 13.5cm x 3.5cm. The book will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape.
