The Winged Victory of Samothrace, also called the Nike of Samothrace, is a 2nd-century BC marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike (Victory). Since 1884, it has been prominently displayed at the Louvre and is one of the most celebrated sculptures in the world. H.W. Janson described it as "the greatest masterpiece of Hellenistic sculpture."

Manufacturing Process Our sculpture is produced by a unique and proprietary dry casting process. They are made of white Carrara marble and over 90% of the finished sculpture is natural marble which gives it a look and feel of natural marble. They are finished by hand. This memorial was commissioned by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Created by Coeur de Lion McCarthy and installed in 1921, it commemorates CPR employees who lost their lives during the first world war. The statue stands on the South corner of Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver. The attached plaque reads: To commemorate those in the service of the CPR company who, at the call of king and country, left all that was dear to them, endured hardship, faced danger and finaly passed out of sight of en by the path of duty and self sacrifice, gving up their own lives that others might live in freedom.
