Keen to see more of Bali, we decided to take a little cruise into the wild. Which meant an early start for breakfast. If there’s one thing The Santai excels at, it’s breakfast. Early mornings have a bad reputation. Everyone wants to sleep in. Nobody wants to wake up early. But then that’s modern living, I guess. Early mornings have been tainted by their associated with work
History Behind The Salisbury Collection ONLY 2 LEFT! The gorgeous walnut handle was sourced from David Ingram, a local craftsman from Salisbury, Illinois. Salisbury is located just 12 miles northwest of Springfield and 8 miles south of New Salem and is close to the historic Sangamo Town settlement where Abraham Lincoln built his flatboat in 1831. The walnut used in the handle originates from an area that was well-known to Lincoln as it is along the "Lincoln Trail" that he traveled between Springfield and New Salem. It's exciting to think that Lincoln might have fished, hunted, or courted his first love in the same region where this beautiful walnut was sourced. Although we cannot make a direct connection between the wood and Lincoln, we can take inspiration from his adventurous spirit. Salisbury is a hidden gem with breathtaking Midwestern scenery, including rivers, hills, and some of the most fertile land in the world. The Sangamon team was brought to Brian Su's rural ranch in Salisbury and their lives have been forever impacted by the experience. A special thanks to our colleague Mark Bennett for his invaluable advice during the design and research process.
