Moss is a plentiful, spontaneous weed here outdoors in Berkeley, California. While it is lovely to look at and touch, it does smother plants and changes the properties of the potting medium beneath it. This seedling pot of Tulbaghia sp. is a good example of how aggressive moss can be in our bulb collection. Thankfully the moss can be pulled out in chunks from around the bulbs and then the pot can top-dressed with new media. --- Last night we dipped to -1.6°C/ 28°F, brrr!
