INSTRUCTIONS ARE BELOW SO PLEASE BOOKMARK THIS PAGE. FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE ME WITH ANY GROWING QUESTIONS. Germination Guide Privet seeds require cold stratification for maximum germination rates. Stratification is a process of simulating natural conditions that the seeds must experience before germination can occur (if a seed germinates in the middle of winter it will die). In the wild, seed dormancy is usually overcome by the seed spending time in the ground through a winter period and having its hard seed coat softened up by frost and weathering action. This cold, moist period triggers the seed's embryo; its growth and subsequent expansion eventually break through the softened seed coat in its search for sun and nutrients. Get a handful or two of vermiculite, perlite or sterile compost Add a little water to the mix. Should be moist but not wet Place in small ziplock bag Place bag at bottom of the fridge or in cold shed/outbuilding (winter) for 8 weeks Check bag occasionally - remove and pot up any seeds that have germinated After the stratification process Spread bag contents on a tray of moist compost. Cover very lightly with compost or vermiculite Keep in a warm place 15-25c Seedlings should appear after circa 25 days Keep moist - best to place seed tray inside a waterproof container and water from the bottom Pot on as required Alternative, you can do it the natural way - sow the seeds in pots outdoors in autumn, cover with mesh to keep off birds etc then the seedlings should appear in mid spring

Sansevieria Moonshine is a beautiful plant with rubbery tall leaves and a rather unusual coloring. While most snake plants sport various shades of dark green, the Moonshine is a unique shade of mint green with silver hues. This snake plant is perfect for those looking for something low-maintenance, eye-catching, and unique. The ideal care for the Moonshine Snakeplant is like that of your typical Sansevieria, which does not entail too much work. Because Snake Plants originate from the dry desert environment of West Africa, they are often exposed to full sun and are extremely drought tolerant. When placed in well-draining soil and watered once monthly, this family of plants is unlikely to suffer from root rot. However, due to their frequently dry soil, snake plants are a bit more susceptible to spider mites and require periodic cleaning of the foliage. Snake plants are perfect for first-time plant parents because of their ability to survive in a wide variety of environments. While their preferred light conditions are bright indirect light, these hardy houseplants will tolerate just about any light range, including fluorescent lighting, full sun, and dark corners. In addition to their easy plant care regimen, snake plants are great air purifiers and can be easily propagated!
