You need: white drawing sheet 15 by 15 cm black fineliner markers I found this lesson on Artsonia. Start in a corner and draw ONE line, the longest line: curved, straight, zigzag, with angles etc. The line has to fill the whole sheet and you may not pick up your marker from the sheet! The line may not hit or cross itself. And, the most important: the line has to end at the point it started. So be sure you're back in the beginning in time! When ready, draw with a pencil three or four geometric shapes on your sheet. Choose three colours marker per shape and colour them. Outline your shapes with the black fineliner.
Once each month, we hold a literacy coach meeting to bring together the four literacy coaches in our district. We are each building-based, so this is often our only time to collaborate, talk, and …
Are you afraid to work with teachers? Many coaches are. Working with teachers is scary. This is why: You don't know if they like you. You think they don't want your help. You don't know if you're goo

In this masterclass, I show you my 5 step system to attracting high quality clients and creating a successful online coaching business.
Blah..Blah, blah..Blah, blah. This is usually what’s running through my head when I’ve attended a bad PD session. And what do I mean by bad PD? I received a handout at a workshop I recently attended on different factors coaches can look for in classroom observations. Collecting quality evidence during observations and presenting it in a clear manner to teachers is such an important piece of improving teacher practice and student achievement…so this handout really got me thinking about what I look […]
"Not ANOTHER data meeting?" "Do we really need to review data AGAIN?" You’ve probably heard this from your team before. Looking at data can feel like a chore, and teachers are often resistant to yet a

Earlier this week, I broke out the cool new pens I got for Christmas and got to work on putting together my coaching cycle schedule for this next quarter. Creating new schedules throughout the year is a cool opportunity for us coaches. It’s kind of like having a mini beginning-of-school-year kick off more than just […]

One of the best ways to really “get” good teaching, is to see it in action. You can listen, learn, or read about what it’s supposed to look like all you want, but it doesn’t really click until you actually experience it — teaching that has a bang and makes a difference. As I’ve shared in the […]
