Hey peaches, Happy Wednesday! I'm so excited to share my first Instagram tip with you! Every Tuesday of the month you can find helpful tips and tricks on the Stampin' Up! Instagram Page. You can also find my account and follow me here or search @lalipeach. Today's tip may or may not be new to you. I, myself, have been doing this technique for years. Basically, you are using your dies to create embossed images. I love being able to find new ways o stretch my dies, and since we all know that dies are not cheap, it's great when we can use them for more than they are intended. To start you will need your Big Shot along with it's included accessories (platform, plates, etc.), Silicone Craft Sheet, and of course, your die(s). For my project today, I will be using the Butterfly Thinlits Dies. When I make cards to send, I often like to dress up my envelopes as well, typically with matching images. To match a butterfly card that I made, I wanted to add an embossed butterfly image to the flap of my envelope. Here's how you do it: First arrange your "sandwich" in this order (from bottom to top): 1. Big Shot Platfom 2. Thin Die Adapter 3. Bottom Cutting Plate 4. Silicone Craft Mat 5. Cardstock/Paper/Item to be embossed (in my case, Whisper White Medium Envelope) 6. Top Cutting Plate See Picture Below: You'll also notice that I used washi tape to secure my die in place. this is not necessary, but it will ensure that my die does not shift when I run it through my Big Shot. After you have run your envelope and die through, you will have a beautifully embossed image. If you wish to get an even deeper impression you can add layers of cardstock to your sandwich. Play around with the configuration until you are happy with the results. I've also included my finished matching card so that you can see yet another way to stretch your dies. For this card, I used the die cut butterfly as a stencil to add embossing paste and the brand new Brusho Crystal Color. I love how the die cut "stencil" kept the Brusho contained to the butterfly shape. Well, that's my tip/technique for today! Come back next post for more fun projects and helpful techniques and tips! An easy as simple way to dress up sleeves: Petal Sleeve Tutorial o1 Cut a rectangle that extends 1 1/2-2" beyond the center of the sleeve. Round one corner and cut 7 more "petals". o2 Clip piping so it will easily curve around the bottom of the petal and stitch in place as close to the piping as you can get. Using a zipper foot or a foot with a groove on the bottom helps to do this. o3 Sew the other half of the petal on the piece with the piping already sewn on. Pin and stitch, following the previous stitching line. o4 Clip triangles along the entire sewn edge to get rid of excess fabric that will be turned inside, up to the stitching line, but careful not to clip the actual stitches. o5 Turn the petal right side out and press. Repeat steps o3-o5 with 3 other petals. o6 Simply add the petals to the sleeve, lining up sides, allowing the petals to overlap. Stitch and press seam allowance up. Edgestitch [stitching very closely to the seam] on the top to keep the seam in place. o7 Continue sewing sleeve as instructed. Related Posts

It’s finally Friday friends! Yippee! A few days ago I received an email about the Colour Your World Blog Hop. I was inspired by the color combination the hoppers were using and wanted to create my own card. While in Utah last week at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Live event, they were showcasing the new craze of shaker cards. So I decided to create one. Although I do not have the foam strips yet (hopefully by Wednesday) that they are selling to make the shaker cards easier. So hint hint if you catch my drift. The Watercolor Wash background are the following colors from top to bottom: Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Sahara Sand. I added the ink on the stamp using the sponge daubers to soften the image as if it were truly water colored. I found a new use for my Bow Builder punch. I mean yes is creates bows but did you know it can do more? You can use the (what I call the mermaid tail) tail section to cut the small ' v ' for the banner. I would have used the Tripler Banner punch but that was going to cut the ' v ' too large for what I was looking for. See the pictures below. What do you think? Great new use for a punch you may or may not have? Here is the color inspiration from the Colour Your World Blog Hop. Measurements: Pool Party card base 4 ¼” x 11” scored 5 ½” Early Espresso 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” Very Vanilla 4” x 5 ¼” and the banner is ½” x 2 ½” tams# 6805 Product List Picture Perfect Photopolymer Stamp Set [140520] Watercolor Wash Wood-Mount Background Stamp Set [138704] Watercolor Wash Clear-Mount Background Stamp [139538] Wetlands Wood Stamp Set [126695] Wetlands Clear Stamp Set [126697] Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin' Pad [131171] Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad [126974] Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad [126982] Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad [126976] Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin' Pad [126946] Bermuda Bay 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [131197] Early Espresso 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [119686] Pool Party 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [122924] Sahara Sand 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [121043] Very Vanilla 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [101650] Window Sheets [142314] Watercolor Wishes Card Kit [140406] Lots Of Labels Framelits Dies [138281] Bow Builder Punch [137414] Linen Thread [104199] I made sure I used products that were carrying over into the 2016 – 2017 Annual Catalog. Hello Peaches! I'm here to participate in another fun blog hop with The Stamp Review Crew! If you're not familiar with The Stamp Review Crew , they are a group of very talented international Stampin' Up! demonstrators who get together on the first and third Monday of each month to bring you all kinds of delicious inspiration that features a different stamp set each new Monday. The blog hops are archived at The Stamp Review Crew blog and you'll be able to click through the hops at any time, going directly to the posts as you wish for any of the hops. Just click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also. If you have already started the hop, you will have come from the lovely and creative Lou Kitzelman. For this hop, we are featuring the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set. I have made quite a few cards and projects with this stamps set. It's just too cute! I wanted a fun embossed textured background so I used the Tropical Thinlits Dies to die cut some leaves to create a stencil I could use to add Embossing Paste. Here's a close-up of the embossing: I also wanted to have my two flamingos facing each other so I just used the mirror image technique. Here's how you do it: Ink up your image in Flirty Flamingo Ink and stamp it onto your Silicone Mat, making sure to stamp steadily without wiggling it or it will smear. Take your cardstock and place it down over the stamped area of your mat and rub over the cardstock to insure that the image transfers to the cardstock. Lift the cardstock and you should have a mirror image of your stamp. Super simple, right? Here's a close-up of my card for today's hop: Well, that's my card for today's hop! Thanks so much for hopping along! Your next stop is my lovely and talented crafty friend Holly Krautkremer! Check out her gorgeous blog and projects! Don't forget! Hey peaches! I have a fun little technique for you today. I'm not sure if there's a name for it but basically we're turning a gold metallic item into a silver metallic one, so maybe we could call it "metallic color changing"? I just know that it was created out of necessity, and that's the mother of invention, right?! It's really quite simple. Here are the easy steps: 1. take your gold metallic element (I'm using a star paper clip from the All Is Bright Paper Clips) and press it into your Versamark Ink Pad 2. Then dip your metallic element into the color of embossing powder you wish to change it to. For example, I chose to turn mine silver so I dipped mine into Silver Embossing Paste. *I find that having a pair of tweezers to hold it while dipping is helpful. 3. Take your freshly powder-dipped element and use your Heat Tool to melt the powder. You will now have silver metallic paper clip! This is such a fun and easy technique! You could create white elements, copper, black. This gives you so many more options with your metallic elements and makes them extremely versatile. I used the star paper clips to create a birthday card for a family member. I've included all of the supplies used below. Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you next post! Don't forget! I rather enjoy playing with lots of color and using interesting techniques when I make stamping projects. Unless noted, all products used in the samples below are Stampin' Up! Here are a few samples: Here are some of my new business cards using #inkswiping These are cards I ordered from Vistaprint with all of the black text info on the right. They were approved by Stampin' Up! demonstrator support. I have sprayed them with Krylon Matte sealer (lightly), so the ink won't run if they get wet. The black images were stamped using Archival Basic Black ink. The supply list below contains products used for the card in the video, except for a few items not available for purchase until June 1 from the new annual catalog. The "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" stamp set and the large "Happy Birthday" thinlit shown in one of the samples above will be both available then. Do you have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator? If not, I would love to be your source for these amazing products and hopefully give you a good dose of inspiration from time to time. This is not just a hobby for me, it is a passion! Click here or on the header above to find out more info on how you can earn free stamp sets just by shopping with me. Earn Frequent Buyer Rewards! Please use the hostess code shown in the top right corner when ordering online, unless your order will total $150 before shipping & tax. At that point, you become your own hostess and get all the rewards! As always, let me know if you have any questions about the project or the products used. Thanks for visiting my blog. Artfully Yours, Kim

Flowers flowers flowers... I love flowers and I love creating Stampin Up! cards with flower stamps, flower die cuts and floral printed paper! Today's handstamped card features all 3! I enjoyed creating several cards using the Rose Garden thinlit die and some watercolor paper I had left over from my High Tide Lighthouse cards (here). After I was done making several High Tide cards, I set aside the left over watercolored backgrounds and I knew I'd enjoy making something with them at a future date. And.. ta-da! I used the leftover watercolor backgrounds with the Rose Garden thinlit

I suppose if there were an easy answer to this question there wouldn't be so many brands of ink pads. I'll tell you which are my favorites and why and I've love if you'd comment to weigh in with your opinions. Basic Stamping on Plain Cardstock: My favorite, hands down is the Onyx Black VersaFine Archival Ink Pad. The construction of the pad is exquisite. It ink goes on evenly and smoothly and stamps the best image possible, showing all detail with no bleeding. It is also waterproof and has become a favorite of watercolor artists. Invest $9 in the full size pad you may never have to buy a reinker. My pad is over 10 years old and I've never reinked it. How is this even possible? I don't know but I've heard this from many stampers. So if this pad is so fabulous, why continue? Well it has downsides: It is oil based so it will not dry on coated card stocks or any non-porous surface. It is also not completely stable for use with alcohol markers or alcohol ink. Stamping on non-porous surfaces: Staz-On Jet Black Ink Pads have become a stamping staple. It's the best ink for stamping on acetate, metal, or glass. It dries quickly and I find I need to reink mine almost every time I use it. The ink pad alone is $8.50 but it's worth the $6 to buy a reinker with the pad if you plan to use it for more than a couple projects. If it feels tacky when you pull the stamp away from the surface you stamp on you need more ink. I suspect that over time you should replace the pad because the stickiness has gets worse over the years. I don't ever use this pad unless I'm working with a surface that requires it. Palette Noir Black Ink Pad will also work on these surfaces. I do not find I get as dark an impression, but it is easier to clean and is a better pad for an all over multi-purpose ink. It also costs just $6 and you can get away without a reinker much longer. Neither of these inks should be used on fabric. Stamping images to color with Copic or other Alcohol Markers: The Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad has the most stable formula with alcohol inks. You can rub across it indefinitely and not only does it not smear, it doesn't seem to get pushed into the paper by the alcohol, so the image stays dark and detailed. $5.20 buys a fabulous all around nice ink pad. It dries permanently and is fade-resistant. It will not dry on many non-porous surfaces like glass or metal. Distressing with Water: The Distress Ink Black Soot Ink Pad is a slow drying ink so if you would like to give it the look of a water weathered item, this is your ink. At $5 the price is right. This ink is not permanent and is really only for use on regular and Kromekote or Ranger's Glossy paper. Stamping on Fabric: VersaCraft was originally called Fabrico because it is the best ink for stamping on fabric that will be washed. This ink pad is about $8. The ink should be heat set with an iron prior to washing. The main problem I have with this brand of ink is that the manufacturer has discontinued so many colors that there isn't much choice besides black anymore. The good news is that VersaMagic is a very similar formula and costs just $6.50. We have provided images of several tests with various ink pads stamped on fabric here: Inks by Usage I am not reviewing any basic dye based ink pads like Marvy Matchables or Adirondack Dye Ink pads or any basic Pigment Ink pads, like ColorBox, VersaColor or Adirondack Pigment Ink pads. These are basic ink pads, and generally cost a little less than the specialty ink pads. I also don't find a huge different between the brands. For every person I find who likes one brand best, I can easily find another who prefers another brand. This is not the case with the ink pads I listed above.

Steampunk Paper Doll, Ella, Printable Paper Doll, Victorian Digital Paper Doll, Printable Steampunk Paper Doll, French Paper Doll, Printable Party Favor, Instant Digital Download Ella was created by combining parts from several Victorian paper dolls that have been changed the percentage required to hold a new copyright This can be used not only for lovely art pieces but it is also fun to use as stocking stuffers. I love to print this one on that printable magnetic sheets that you can pick up at the office supply store. Another little trick is to cover it with clear contact paper to protect it from little fingers :) The preview above is a low resolution and the watermark is not visible on the original file that you will receive. Your digital collage sheet will be available as an instant download upon receipt of your payment and will include the free digital bonuses that I am known for, If you are purchasing several sheets from the same category, I do have some bonuses that I like all to get. If you happen to get a duplicate bonus just convo me and I will send you another :) Once saved to your computer you can resize the images to fit your project and use it over and over! Your 8 1/2 x 11 collage sheet will be in .jpg format at 300 dpi for the highest quality printing. However the quality of your print will be determined by your printer but a few good tips are to use either a good quality bright white paper or brochure paper and set your printer settings to best. Many of my items are or were created from Vintage prints but are no longer vintage prints. They have been pieced together from vintage prints and enhanced to print much clearer than the originals. The printing techniques were not so great so many times there were parts that did not print or they printed over the intended lines so I have repaired these as well. Also, on most that were left as original, the greetings have been removed so that you may add your own. On these, I have also repaired and enhanced all damage that they have received through the years. Backgrounds have been changed, body parts added. faces changed and in some cases a whole person added. Most if not all have been changed the percentage required to hold a new copyright. The copyright you are purchasing is for hand made items only... So if you are printing the image and incorporating it into your artwork then that artwork is yours to sell. However the copyright does not apply to any mass produced printed products or digital reproductions and may not be included in any digital download of any kind. They my not be shared with friends or sold to a third party. I have spent many hours scanning and creating or digitally enhancing each one as I leave them in your charge please protect them. Sheet are as shown. Not all images seen in examples are in this listing. For more ideas and free downloads visit my blog http://alteredartifacts.blogspot.com
