Happy Saturday My Blogger Friends! Today I'm going to share the SUPER FUN Halloween Treats that I made for my two daughters to take into their fellow co-workers for Halloween. My daughters work with some amazing PEEPS and like it when I include treats for their peeps along with the holiday treats to the grandkids. Here is what I made for my daughters............ I made these fun mummy treats! They come together SUPER FAST with the help of a fun (now retired) Stampin' UP! punch. This punch was retired last year.....but it happens to currently be in the Stampin' UP! clearance rack and can be picked up for around $7.00. (http://KadieLabadie.StampinUp.net) To create these fun little mummies.....You just need to punch out two of the above punched images with Whisper White cardstock. I then assembled the bottom and sides together......Leaving the top open. Next I distressed the edges of the mummy holder and also of the 1/8" stripes of Whisper White cardstock (that I used to wrap several layers across the front panel to look like mummy wrapping). Here's a close-up of what the bottom of the mummy looks like! The mummy holds a Hershey nugget........ That I wrapped with a piece of Whisper White cardstock. The only other thing that needed to be done was to add a pair of goggly eyes to my mummy and he was DONE! So here's what the batch of mummies for my daughters looks like. SO STINKIN CUTE and SO STINKIN FUN to make! Thanks for joining me today! I'll be back tomorrow to share with you the Halloween Treats that I made for my five California grandkids. Good morning, Authentique Paper Fans! Who loves treats?! And who loves treats that come in cute packaging?! My kids are grown now, and past the age for treat bags, and I don't have grandchildren yet...but who cares?! I still love making treat bags and other goodies! I created this set of treat bags from the Twilight paper collection. If you want to make some sweet bags of your own, you will need a 12x12 paper pad, an 8x8 paper pad, a piece of black cardstock, some twine, and some tiny clothes pins, and your favorite adhesives. It helps to have access to a paper trimmer, scoring board, a large circle punch, and a tag punch or die. Let's get started! Cut a piece of 12x12 Twilight paper (Twilight One), to 7" tall and 8 1/2" wide. On the 8 1/2" side, score at 3 3/4" and 7 1/2". Rotate the paper clockwise and on the 7" side score at 1". Rotate your paper back so that it is returned to the position of 7" tall and 8 1/2" wide. Use a 1 1/2" circle punch (or circle die) to cut a half-circle into the top of the paper, centered between the left edge and the first score line. Next, trim away the 1" bottom section from the first score line to the right edge of the paper. You will have a 1" x 3 3/4" flap on the bottom left. Cut the flap at an angle on both bottom corners. Place double-sided adhesive onto the 1" section between the score line and the right edge, as shown above. Fold that flap in so that the fold is now on the right edge. Fold on the other score lines and to make a "tube" with the punched section at the top and the small flap open at the bottom. Flip the paper over and add double-sided adhesive to the bottom tab, as shown. Fold the tab up and secure on the back of your treat bag. Your assembled bag will be 6" tall and 3 3/4" wide. To decorate the treat bag you will need the border strips from the 12x12 Twilight Two paper, and the image sheet from the Twilight 8x8 Pad. Use your trimmer or a craft knife to cut all the little images apart. They each measure 2 3/4" x 2". (You could use the large images from Twilight Eight in the 12x12 paper pad, but they are 3" x 4" and a bit large for this size of treat bag.) Tip: Rub all paper edges with black ink or a black marker. Trim a section of the border from Twilight Two paper to 2 1/2" x 8 1/2" and wrap it around the bag, securing it on the back. Cut a yard each of black and orange twine and wrap it around the bag, tying a bow as shown above. Mat one of the small images with black cardstock and then attach it to the bag. Make a little name tag from black cardstock, cut with a metal die or punch. Use a white pen to write on the little tag. Attach the tag to the twine with a mini clothespin. Stuff your bag with treats! Tip: If you don't have access to a tag die or punch, you can just cut little tag shapes from black paper with scissors. My little tags are roughly 1/2" x 1 1/4" in size. These bags are so easy and fun to make, that you could make up a whole batch! I created five before I ran out of steam! I used Twilight Three for my own little bag, because I love polka dots! I trimmed a piece of Twilight One reverse side for my border strip, then I used black and tan twine for this bag. The little images from the 8x8 pad are the perfect size for this project! I love all the vintage children getting dressed in their costumes! An orange mini clothespin finishes this bag. This is what the back of the bags will look like. This bag is made from Twilight Five, with a border strip and an image of bats. Creepy! This next bag is made from Twilight Four, then I added a strip of Twilight Five reverse (stripes) before adding a thinner border strip of spiders. Really, really creepy! I also found some striped twine in my stash that was orange, black, and white! Perfect! At the back of each of the 12x12 paper pads there are a few sheets of the Spectrum cardstock in colors that match the paper collection. I used the sheet of Black Jack to make this bag. It works just as well as the printed paper! I decorated the bottom of the bag with a scrap from the 8x8 pad that was magically the correct size! As you can see, this project would be a great way to use up scraps, and would be fun in any theme! Thank you so much for looking! Have fun making your own little gift bags! Hello there! I had so many other fun ideas pop into my head when I made the Bat Treat Box yesterday, that I had to create some more! I came up with 5 more sweet little creations for your little ghosts & goblins:) These are all made with the Acetate Card Boxes that I cut in half. They all feature the PRODUCT OF THE WEEK-the Playful Pennant Framelits and the DEAL OF THE WEEK-the GLITTER ENAMEL DOTS. Each box is made with 2 strips of cardstock measuring 3/4" x 11". I wrapped them around the top & bottom of the box & adhered them with Glue Dots. Witchy-Poo is made with Granny Apple Green Cardstock. I added a hat made from Basic Black Cardstock using a leftover scrap. I added the fun rickrack trim to her hat that I shared how to make this morning on my Tuesday Tip video. You can see it on my SU!P FRIENDS Facebook group page. I simply cut off one of the pennants for her nose and used the 1/2" Circle Punch for her warts. The sentiment is stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink & punched out with a 1" Circle Punch. I trimmed off the adhesive strip at the top of a Clear Medium Envelope, filled it with a treat and tied it with a piece of Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon. Jack is made with Pumpkin Pie Cardstock. I used Basic Black Cardstock for his teeth, nose & pupils. I used Whisper White for the sentiment and eyes. I used the 1 1/2", 1 1/4" & 1/2" Circle Punches for the eyes. The sentiment for all of these boxes came from Trick or Tweet and I used Memento Black ink. I used Bermuda Bay Mini Striped Ribbon. Owl is made with Grey Granite & Pumpkin Pie Cardstock. The nose is made with Petal Pink Cardstock, again just cut out from the pennants. I used Memento Black for the sentiment and cut it from Whisper White Cardstock using a 1" Circle Punch. Mummy Dearest is made with strips of Whisper White Cardstock. I added a couple strips on top that I aged with a Sponge Dauber in Soft Suede ink. I used Poppy Parade Mini Striped Ribbon. Frank is made with Bermuda Bay Cardstock strips. His hair is made from Early Espresso Cardstock and his neck bolts are made from Grey Granite. Agoin, I simply trimmed a couple scallops from the pennant piece and attached them to the back with Liquid Tombow. I used Bermuda Bay Mini Striped Ribbon. And here's the original Batty from yesterday. I also used the Cauldron Framelits for his wings. You can see yesterdays post and video on SU!P FRIENDS! to see how I made them.
