I've been crocheting for a few years now and here are some of the latest things I've finished! I do like to make more intricate items, but lately, I feel as though I don't have time to start big projects so I get my crochet fix with stuffed animals.
Song: Popcorn Praise Praising The Lord No Matter What Pops Up Introduction There’s all kinds of things that happen to us in life. Sometimes good things and sometimes bad things, sometimes happy things, sometimes disappointing things, sometimes joyful things, sometimes scary things and on we could go. Each day is a day of choices and almost like popcorn they pop up to surprise us. Then comes the choice of how to react to the surprises along life’s way. Some people wake up to a tragedy that comes along. Like their house burning down or someone they love dies. We all will face some kind of hardship in our life. The most important thing through these hard times is knowing how to get through it without them changing us in a bad way. God talks about hard times throughout the bible continuously. Each bible story tells us something about facing life’s troubles. Daniel facing the lions, David facing a giant, Moses facing angry Pharaoh, Ester, taken from her home. Joseph being hated by His brothers. Paul and Silas in prison – God has given us non- stop examples of hardship and He shares with us the examples of others and their choices. Some of us may be joyful today because of some great accomplishment, or a prayer that’s been answered. Some of us may be angered inside over something someone did or didn’t do. Everyday will be a new adventure of feelings and choices. What are some of the problems you are facing today? Are you very happy over anything? Name some things God has given us in which we should be thanking him. (short time Of discussion.) God does not want us to be controlled by our feelings, but wants us to react to our feelings – by following Godly choices based on Truth. The truths we learn from God’s Word. Praise is one of the choices the bible teaches us to do through both good and bad circumstances in life. I’m not talking about the kind of praise and worship services some churches have today, but a time of personal praise spent between you and God or praise during a difficult time. God answers the prayers of praising Christians. God draws close to a person with a genuine heart of praise. God uplifts the grieving through a personal time of praise. God gives songs to those who long to praise Him. God gives joy in the place of tears to those who will praise Him. If one praises the feeling of joy soon follow. Praising the Lord encourages our heart to go on in the faith. Miracles happen in the life of a person who praises the Lord with a true heart. The devil will flee in the presence of real praise especially praises that include the shedding of Christ blood at Calvary. David gives us many examples of praise in the Psalms. David was a man of praise and praised in both good times and bad times. He praised through His problems. Paul and Silas sang and praised the Lord after being thrown in prison for the cause of Christ. Both Old and New Testament stories have taught that God reacts to praise. We need to learn to praise the Lord no matter what pops up in life. We can always tell God when we are angry, tell him when we are sad, tell him when we’ve been hurt, tell him when we’re happy, pray about things that need changed, but to be a Christian Survivor, we need to place our burden on Him and praise through life’s difficulties and by His leading take action as the Lord leads. One of my favorite projects of the year is our End of the Year Memory Book. It's a special keepsake for students and parents that features photos, drawings, writing samples, and more. It's a project the class works on periodically throughout the year. I love it because it shows how much the kiddos change over the year. It gives parents a memento to remember the year by, rather than trying to save everything the child brings home. #guiltyofthat This is Ellee. She was in my very first class. She just started 10th grade! Her Mom sent me these pictures of her looking back on her Kindergarten Memory Book before school started last month. It made me so happy to know that she was reliving all of the fun we had in Kinder. Crazy to think 10 years has come and gone! You can see in the photos that Word Art was all the rage back in 2007. LOL. I've made some updates to my Kinder Memory Book since 2007, and I've also created a Preschool and 1st grade version. I have some tips for creating these Memory Books that will make them manageable. 1. If you have active parent volunteers, find a parent that will head up this project. My first year in the classroom, I had 26 kids in my morning class and 25 in the afternoon. 51 memory books! Thank goodness I had an amazing aide and some super parents that helped out. 2. Two options for binding the memory books... You can copy all of the pages you need and bind them over the summer/at the beginning of the year. However, I think it's better to wait to bind them until the END of the year. To keep it all organized, I have a file folder for each student. As we complete a memory book page, I file the completed page away in the child's folder. Then at the end of the year, all the pages are in order and ready to be bound. 3. Print extra copies for potential new students or for "Uh Oh" mistakes. 4. If you forget to take a photograph of a student for a certain page, they can draw a picture instead. The combination of photographs and illustrations will make it extra special. 5. You can send a page home for "homework" every now and then if you just don't have time to get to it in class. Be sure to tell your students how important these pages are so they come back in good condition. I would recommend sending them home in an envelope or file folder so they don't get ripped, folded, or destroyed on the way home. :) 6. I've included extra pages at the end for photographs. Students can personalize it, color it, add stickers, get autographs from friends, etc. The teacher can write a special note to the child in the back of the book as well. These Memory Books will work great for Homeschool Kiddos and for the crafty Mamas out there. Just print and use the pages you need. I'm thrilled to be making one with my preschooler.

I cannot believe it's been a year since I've made these socks, but finally - the pattern is here. Granny stripes are my favourite and I've always wanted to have socks like these. If I could, I would make them in all possible colorways. But I am lucky with just these two pairs. The socks in this tutorial are for size S (EU) and fit the shoe size of 36-38; however, I've included instructions to make them in bigger sizes. For these socks, I used 5 colors in both cotton and acrylic. I must point out that the cotton ones are sturdier and more fitting than the ones made with acrylic yarn, but the acrylic ones are fluffier and warmer. Now, I just need some nice clogs for a complete vintage look. The pattern is in my shops: etsy, ravelry and lovecrafts.
