It's been over a week since my last update. I was attacked by germ monsters at school and have been resting up a lot. In addition to being sick, I've been working very diligently on my ESOL certification class I'm taking right now. Whoever says being a teacher is easy has no clue what they are talking about! Haha! I have a couple things to share today and hopefully will finish doctoring up a super cool writing activity we did so I can share it soon! First, I want to give a big shout-out to the ever fabulous VistaPrint! I purchased the teacher contact information magnets that I gave my families at the beginning of the year from them. They were wonderful quality and everybody was really impressed with them. They also have a bunch of items you can get for free, you just have to pay shipping! I go around every day initialing my students' planners to verify their behavior performance for the day and thought there had to be a better way! There is, I got a FREE personalized stamp that fits perfectly in the designated spot in their planners. I used a return address stamp that had a star. Instead of putting in all 3 lines of information, I just put my name. It automatically centers and turns out perfectly. I know that some other teachers at my school are now looking into getting their own personalized stamps. You should too! So many of the ideas I find on Pinterest seem like such "Duh!" things. I use to be a pretty creative person and I feel like Pinterest may be robbing me of my own inventing process. I think it's making me lazy, if I want to get an idea I just type something in and *poof* hundreds of wonderful, already created ideas pop up. This is one of those "Duh, why didn't I think of this" ideas. Hot glue pom poms on the end of dry erase markers to make little erasers for the kids. It's just like the big erasers I use on the board and saves on tissues or having dirty socks in the room. I haven't used them yet, but hopefully the kids don't destroy them the first day... We all know how kids are with new things! And, I leave you with a Transition Anchor Chart. Hopefully I can break the kids of the "First, Next, Then, Finally" pattern of transitions!
This rhyme helps children act out rhyming in a fun way. Stand up in your group area. Do the body rhyme. The children will want to do this over and over. Say go now touch your toe Say neat now touch your feet Say real now touch your heel Say laugh now touch your calf Say bee now touch your knee Say high now touch your thigh Say paste now touch your waist Say yummy now touch your tummy Say best now touch your chest Say colder now touch your shoulder Say twist now touch your wrist Say sand now touch your hand Say crumb now touch your thumb Say check now touch your neck Say pin now touch your chin Say chair now touch your hair When doing this rhyme with the children make sure you give them a chance to say the body part that rhymes before you finish the sentence.

All over Europe, the question of how best to manage and implement the resettleement and reintegration of released prisoners in society has become increasingly important. Transition management requires work in custody as well as cooperation and co-ordination between criminal justice agencies, statutory and voluntary providers and other partners involved in the offender’s resettlement and re-integration. The objective of the project “Justice Cooperation Network – European treatment and transition management of high-risk offenders” has been to address these questions and to develop effective and efficient management principles, processes and practices for high-risk offenders leaving custody that can be shared and used by the project partners and across Europe. The project team comprises the responsible bodies from four project partner states, Estonia, Finland, Ireland and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The Ministry of Justice and Prison Service of Belgium, the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic, the Confederation of European Probation (CEP) and the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection in Germany are associated partners in the project. The publication is structured according to the programme of the final conference in Warnemünde in September 2014. After the introductory addresses in chapter 2, the chapters 3 to 6 display presentations held in the plenary. In chapter 7.1-4 the contributions in the 4 forums are presented, the results of which are to be found in chapter 7.5. Chapter 8 summarizes some final reflections of the conference from professionals outside the justice system. The final evaluation report of the project by the researchers of the University of Greifswald forms the 9th and last chapter of this publication.

Personal boundaries are a big deal when it comes to our group of students. It is something we work on daily throughout the year. In our program we are big on fist bumps and discourage hugging among the kids at all times. I have seen other boundary circle charts that have more groups listed, but as to not confuse my kids to much, I narrowed it down to just 4. Here is a couple worksheets you can use with the circle chart. I hope you can use them in your classroom. Have a great week!
