NOTE as of 12-01-09 - Since I shared this free pattern. I have released my Izannah Walker Doll Pattern. The free pattern is fine, but the newer pattern is more true to original Izannah Walker dolls. If you're interested in the new pattern that closely follows the original dolls, click here to visit the Izannah Walker Workshop site. I love seeing the creations that people make using this free pattern. When you post a picture of your doll on your blog or in a selling site, please put the following information in your description of the doll you've made. A link to this site would be nice, too. ""This doll was made with Dixie Redmond's free doll pattern" Thanks, and enjoy! tweaked 2009 version Hi, all - I've shared this basic template pattern above for the body of a doll with a few people. Finished, it made up a doll was around 15" tall, depending on how you attach limbs, etc. Anyway, here's the template pattern. A template pattern means you trace around the body on fabric, but you don't cut it out. Then you sew exactly on that line with two layers of fabric. Trim to within 1/4" on the outside of the sewing line - turn and stuff. Do the same with the limbs and attach as you see best. With this pattern, the head is smaller to allow for addition of paperclay over the cloth. The funny bell shaped piece is for the thumb - you fold it in half and sew down one side, turn stuff and attach to the arm. Obviously the paperclay makes up for a lot. That's where your individuality will come in. :-) You can take this to a copy shop and enlarge it to make a larger doll. Oh! the way to save it is to "right click" with your mouse and then choose "save as", name it what you want and then it will be on your computer. And if you make a doll with this template, please send me a picture of it. :-)

Our talented friend Sanch who runs Red Brolly was inspired by Peach Blossom Moths to make a gorgeous quilt and absolutely wonderful fabric Moths. We love the moths and would like a turquoise wall full of fabric moths in all sizes if we had the free space. This is just a wonderful gift for everyone who follows
Hi! Happy Wednesday everyone!:) I just wanted to share a bit of good news with you all. I've been thinking about taking a little break from creating patterns for now and instead want to focus on making dolls to sell from time to time. Over the last few years I've had many requests from people looking to purchase my ready-made dolls and because I've been so busy designing patterns and running my shop, I've not been able to offer them. Well, I'm happy to say that that's about to change! I'm hoping to be able to offer a small batch of dolls every couple of weeks or so, depending of course on how busy my shop is and whether I have other projects on the go. Here are a few photos of three of the dolls I've been working on so far - they're not quite done yet, but I hope you like them! :) I've embroidered a glittery star on each of their cheeks - hence the name 'Starlet Dolls'. Each doll will wear a cute pair of frilly knickers. Aren't they sweet?? I might just have to design a pair for me too! :) lol! I've already made a stash of dresses for the next batch of girls :) Each dress is lined with a pretty petticoat. My wonderful Mum has kindly agreed to knit each of them a little wrap cardigan which I think just adds the best touch! This sweet girl is wearing a feather boa collar while she waits for her cardigan. They're quite tall, measuring a tad more than 17 inches in length. These dolls are not suitable for very young children and should be handled gently or used as display dolls. PLEASE NOTE: To find out when the dolls will be ready for sale, please keep in touch by following my Instagram and Facebook Page. I will post a release date and time a couple of days before listing the dolls in my Etsy shop. I'm sorry, but to be fair to everyone, I cannot take reserves. Also, I will not be offering custom dolls. Each doll will be one-of-a-kind, completely unique and made from the highest quality materials. I'm so looking forward to making many more of these little beauties and I hope that you'll pop in to visit my social media pages often to see what else I'll been working on! Have a lovely week!
