Recently, I spent some time studying in Denmark, and I had the weekends free to explore this wonderful country. And so, Ringkøbing was added to my list!

Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek! Today I worked on updating our beginning of the year social studies unit, "Me and My School."In this unit we discuss the purpose for rules, who the leaders are around us, what some good rules are, what happens when we don't follow rules, etc. One great book I love to use during this unit is David Shannon's "David Goes to School." If you don't have this book yet, it is a must! Kids love this book and can totally relate to the cute little main character, David! This little unit has some poetry, some thinking maps, a group anchor chart to make with your kids, and a quick little craft connection. Here are some pics. A poem for our Poetry Folders! Anchor Chart Have kids make their own David. A simple circle pattern is included in unit. Let them go from there!! :) For your free 18 page mini unit, click here!! :) I hope you can use some of these ideas! Next Stop? "Me and My Community!" Coming right up!! Thanks for stopping! As always, if you need anything, just holler! Leave me a message or e-mail me! Till then, look for the joy in everything! Joyfully! Nancy

Hello Everyone! You should have heard the OOOOH's and AHHHH's today during math. Yes, math!! :) We continued our exploration of symmetry today by creating our own sensational symmetrical shapes. I know you have probably all done this before, but the kids loooooved it, so I thought I'd share. The kids had a plain manilla piece of construction paper. They had to decide whether they wanted to fold their paper to find the line of symmetry vertically or horizontally. Then they got to squirt a few different colors on one side of the line. Next came the mysterious part. They folded the paper again and rubbed the places where they could feel the paint. Then, open the paper back up! Tah-Dah! OOOOH! AHHHH! A quick, easy, and beautiful way to show symmetry. I also wanted to do a quick share of a new ultra mini unit I put together introducing kids to our natural resources. We begin this unit next week. We will be studying this for several weeks, so I will be adding to it as we go along, but this 29 page cross curricular unit will help to introduce. Here are a few pics. Mini posters for air, water, soil, trees subtraction mystery picture using a 120 board Hands on activities 6 page problem solving mini book You can click here for your printable!! Till next time, thanks for taking a peek into our window of wonder! Have a great night! Joyfully! Nancy
Wow....it only took me 4 years to get my stuff together... LOL! I am currently in LOVE with the Curvy Barbie doll. I have had my beautiful blonde since they came out, but didn't have the time to concentrate on her. But now I do, as well as her big sister, 17 inch Dreamtopia Endless Hair Barbie, and her even bigger sister, 28 inch Best Fashion Friend doll. Free patterns are coming for all of them, just be patient with me. I have to draft them up, test them, redraw them (if necessary) and re-test them, until they are perfect! I will offer patterns of various difficulties, from beginner to advanced, but unfortunately, they will not have assembly instructions. Having made clothes for myself (a plus sized lady), I can relate to Curvy Barbie's beautiful shape. Here are the patterns.... And here are what they look all stitched up.... this is the strapless bodice sewn to the fitted skirt this is the basic bodice and the fitted capris the undies! Look out Vic's Secret! Yes.....the clothes are pinned on (I'm so lazy!). I would love to see your results using my patterns. I'm a newbie to blogging, so I'm not sure how to do that. I would also like to know what you all would like in patterns. I guess you can let me know in the comments section :) I hope you enjoy sewing for Curvy Barbie! Stacy
