A mysterious shell decorated cave in Margate...pretty much the only reason you'd ever want to go to Margate
Inside Margate's Shell Grotto Margate's Shell Grotto was discovered in 1835, although its actual age and origin is unknown. The grotto is a 70ft passageway ending at the Altar Room, a small rectangular chamber 15 by 20ft. The grotto gets its name from the 4.6m shells that decorate the interior with geometric patterns and stylised imagery.
This recipe for baked-in-the-shell queenie scallops makes for an easy but impressive starter. Plus, it's a low-calorie but luxurious dish
Set in Polperro's old "Warren" are, overlooking the harbour, is this iconic house. The Shell House (can't think why it's called that?!) is one of Polperro's most photographed sites.
I can't quite believe how simple yet luscious these are. I prefer to get my scallops from the fishmonger for this, which is just as well as I don't think I could ever get a supermarket to supply me with shells. You don't need to take the corals off, but I like to turn this into two meals, and fry up the corals the next day, with some butter and garlic oil and eat them squished onto chunky bread or toast, and spritzed with lemon juice and carpeted with parsley. These are really a starter, but I certainly wouldn't mind knocking a couple of shells' worth back for a special supper any day of the week. For US cup measures, use the toggle at the top of the ingredients list.

Who: Island Creek OystersWhere: Duxbury, Massachusetts One hot sunny day last week, I drove to Duxbury, Massachusetts to find out how oysters grow. My destination was the Island Creek Oyster farm, an oyster farm set in the cold, salty water of Duxbury Bay, about 30 minutes southeast of Boston. For years I’ve slurped oysters from their shell with little knowledge of how these bivalves came to be, but that was all about to change.
Experimentation and doing what seems to be the impossible is the creed for every Lomographer. So, with a burst of inspiration and determination, i made my very own egg pinhole camera, the Pinhegg. The difficulties and effort were worth it!

First and foremost - a gigantic, enormous, astronomical THANK YOU to youz lot for all the lovely messages, comments, tweets, everything since the release of our brand new pattern, the Anna Dress. RECENTLY FEATURED ON KIRSTIE AND PHILS “ LOVE IT OR LIST IT “ Channel 4 (SEE SHOP VIDEO) It is a smaller version of the Giant Clam Shell Sink in my other listing however slightly larger than the smallest sink we sell and will accommodate almost all Bathrooms. Although smaller it still retains the opulence and beauty of the larger shell. Like its sister shell this smaller version is hand sculptured and hand finished Measurements 59 cm wide 23 1/4 inches 44 cm. Depth 17 1/4 inches 22 cm. Height At Front 8 1/2 inches 24 cm. Height At Back 9 1/2 inches I have sculptured this myself so nobody else produces them. Hand Made replicates the feel and weight of a genuine clam shell. This is solid and made to last (not resin). Recent feedback comments : "Great product fast delivery. Will recommend. Cheers again " " Absolutely Stunning!!!! A work of Art thank you " " Beautiful, Thank very much, and brilliant communication :-) " " We are so pleased with our fabulous basin. Beautifully made and hand delivered " . The images alone are unable to illustrate its size and the dramatic impact of the Giant Clam Shell as it is in reality . I believe we are the first in the UK to produce these stunning sinks. I have taken the enormous Clam Shell we produce and completely converted it into a sink. It has been a long time in planning. Unlike the shell, I have had to craft it and add various other materials to transform it into a sink and I believe the result is absolutely stunning. These are completely unique and you will not find them anywhere else. They are not just quite simply stunning to look at but also have a use. They are solid and sturdy. Bespoke colours are available eg. Copper Highlights Gold Highlights Silver Sparkle highlights Authentic Soft Grey Aquamarine Blue Burnt Umber and even Pink. In fact any colour can be used just let us know . Please look at my other listing to see some of the above sink finishes. If you have any further questions about these sinks and to order a specific colour finish please contact me on 07973 759745 PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 14 DAYS FOR DELIVERY Thank you for looking Please take a look at my other Clam Shells Sinks and Giant Clam Shells in various sizes Photographs are purely for reference only and the clam shells may vary slightly as they are not mass produced. They are all hand made and hand finished.
