Antoine wants a “Starwars” vest for his birthday… first challenge : I had to find a good picture with both r2d2 & c3po… and transfer it into a knittable intarsia chart… many thanks to Pascale who gave me a fantastic link : http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/ first : decrease color range of original pix with adobe photoshop second : use Pascale’s link to convert into chart third (last but not least!) : use Paint to correct chart and get only the 11 colorways needed Antoine wants a black backward… so let’s do it ! We chose Phildar Lambswool as I have many colors in my stash and knit the vest with 3mm needles pattern inspired from phildar #040-T10-231 (st count)… but modified shoulder shaping and armhole hem… so may be far from original pattern at last back : all black CO 98 sts 20 rows in 1x1 rib with 2.5mm needles (5cm) change to st. st. and 3mm needles decrease evenly to 90sts on first row 96 rows in st.st. (26cm) armhole shaping (4 + 3x3 + 2x2) shoulder shaping at 18cm from beginning of armhole (i.e. approx 62 rows higher) with short-rows (3 x 5 for each shoulder, neck = 18 central sts + 1x4 on each side) front : same as back intarsia chart is 78 sts wide and 87 rows high begin intarsia chart on row 25 of st.st. I’m far from being an intarsia master but I’m quite pleased with the result and Antoine too !!!

Happy Sunday Peeps!!! It is Sweet Sunday Sketch Day!! Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week: What a fun sketch, this card didn't turn out anything like I had envisioned when I began, I had originnally planned on using my some of my Season of Style Journaling Tags to make a quick card. I was down to the wire and thought I could get it done quickly. The vision went awry when I started working tho and I ended up stamping this Santa. I love this image from Stampin' Up's Santa's List. I stamped with some Black Stazon and colored him with my aqua painter and ink pads. I stamped a second image and cut out the list and Santa's hand. I curled the bottom of the list around a small wood skewer. I added some dazzling details to his fur for added sparkle. I did use one element from the Journaling Tags, the small little flag up by Santa's head is cut from one of the tags. The sentiment on here is from the A Banner Christmas. The button/twine element consist of a retired Cherry Cobbler Button and some hemp twine. The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler card stock and then the next layer is Old Olive and then the DSP is from the Season of Style pack. Now let's see what the rest of the girls did with this fun sketch: Dana White Dawn Easton Jackie Pedro Karen Giron Karen Motz Lori Telcer Lynn Put Melissa Hubert Sarah-Jane Kale Tracy Clemente Jodi Collins Lisa Henke Thanks for stopping by today Vicki

I've been wanting to make an interactive bulletin board for a long time and I finally executed it this week! I'm not sure why I chose to make it during such a busy week! The goal is for students to read for at least 20 minutes at home each night. When you add up all those minutes, it ends up being a lot by the end of a school year! Why read at home? Here's an informational flyer that can bring insight to that: I realize that for some families, this may be difficult to do because of how busy life can get. However, any amount of time is definitely helpful! Here's the bulletin board I created: Each little blue flag is worth 250 minutes. To make it to the finish line would require 10,000 minutes of reading at home! Wheew! Now that would be a goal to accomplish :) The great news is that I don't care what it is students read: books, comics, magazines, cereal boxes, basically anything works!
Hey there my crafty peeps! It is time for part 2 of the Karen Burniston Designers challenge. This time the challenge was set by Shelly Hickox to make a card either Girly or Ghouly. We had to think pretty, shabby, feminine or French, OR think creepy, crawly, spooky or eerie. For my card, went pretty and feminine using the Flower Pot Pop Stand die. I totally love this die!!!! For the outside of the card I used the Labels and Circles dies set along with the decorator dies from the Anita Frames Pop Up. The stamps is from the new Occasions Clear Stamp set. The flowers are a combination of the flower dies included in the Flower Pot Pop Stand die and the flowers included in the Props 7 die set. On the inside I have added a trellis from the Bamboo Trellis die and lots of flowers from the flower dies included in the Flower Pot Pop Stand die, the flowers included in the Props 7 die set, and leaves from the Curvy Leaves die set. I have also added the butterflies included in the Flower Pot Pop Stand dies set as well. I have used glitter dots and lines to decorate the pieces as well. Here is a look from above. The lattice on the inside of the pot allows enough space for lots of pretty flowers. I have also added another set of labels for a sentiment. Here is the best part of this die, it folds down flat for mailing. How totally cool is that!?! Be sure to check out the other designers and see what they came up with for this challenge. thanks for stopping by!
