With the help of these interesting activities, the 100th day of school becomes a celebration as well as an enjoyable chance for reiterating key concepts. Cheers to another 100 days of education and countless moments of joy in the classroom!💯 1. Counting Collections Ask each kid to bring in a hundred tiny objects, such as stickers, buttons, or even food items. Allow them to present their collection to the class so they may feel proud of themselves and enjoy the challenge of counting to 100. Excitement fills the air as they display their carefully chosen collections and this interactive exercise not only gives them a chance to exhibit their creativity but also gives them a sense of success. 2. 100th Day Trail Mix Create a trail mix station with various ingredients. Add a range of ingredients, such as nuts, pretzels, and dried fruits in addition to chocolate chips, and observe as each student explores the delicious world of creating their own customized trail mix. With 100 pieces, each student may design their own unique trail mix. This will transform a basic and delicious snack into an interactive math lesson while also including math skills as kids count and measure. 3. Decorate 100 Give each kid a huge cutout of the number "100" and encourage them to express their creativity. Whether they decide to attach tiny things that holds special meaning, cover them with stickers, or decorate the digits with vibrant drawings. This interactive exercise celebrates hitting a big milestone while using art. This practical exercise also blends the excitement of creative expression with the celebration of achieving an outstanding feat. 4. Exercise Challenge Short bursts of physical activity should be used to break up the day. Give the class a challenge: make them perform 100 steps, 100 jumping jacks, or 100 seconds of stationary running. It's a playful way to incorporate movement into the festivities, keeping everyone's spirits high and making sure that every hop, skip, and leap is a source of excitement for reaching100 days. 5. Write 100 Words Encourage budding writers by setting a 100-word writing challenge for them. You can work on this independently or as a class. Showcase their written works to honor their accomplishments. Imagine a spread of the creative100-word writings written by these young students hanging on the classroom walls. It's an excellent method to recognize their literary talent as well as encourage a passion of using words to express ideas and views. 6. 100 Days Smarter Crowns Imagine your students wearing majestic crowns with stickers, drawings, and the big 100 on them. It's more than just an artistic endeavor—it's a tangible representation of their growth and achievements. With the help of this practical project, students can consider their journey and highlight the unique traits of their acquired knowledge and abilities. The classroom turns into a beautiful parade of regal princes and princesses of knowledge, wearing their crowns with pleasure and a sense of accomplishment. 7. Build with 100 Get out your craft supplies or building blocks and give pupils a task to create something with exactly 100 parts for a creative and practical approach. This project promotes creativity while reinforcing the idea of counting to 100. It can involve creating a massive tower, creating a unique structure, or exploring the world of abstract art. The 100-piece challenge not only improves mathematics skills but also encourages problem-solving and teamwork while the classroom is filled with the sounds of young builders at work. The 100th day of school is a big deal in elementary. First of all, the number 100 seems HUGE to kids so saying, 'I have been in school 100 days' seems like a lot to them. Upper elementary students will see it more as a halfway point and something to celebrate as a milestone towards the countdown to summer. As a teacher, I see it as 100 days of learning and growth. No matter your perspective, I think it is worth celebrating in the classroom. Here is a quick and easy paperless iPad project using the free iPad app Aging Booth

Here are a few ways we celebrated 100th day of school in addition to my unit materials! Take a look! We wrote 100 words inside 100! ...
This past week we celebrated the 100th day of school! I can't believe it's been 100 days already. I know the 2nd semester is going to fly by, just about every month we have some sort of break... except for March.. longest month ever -- maybe we can get lucky and get some snow ;) I've been hyping up the 100th day since well day 1 so my kids were READY! Unfortunately, we are on a tight scope and sequence learning schedule and I can't completely forgo our usual standards.. not even for 1 day. I wanted my students to still feel like we were celebrating the "whole day" so check out what we did below. It is FULL of freebies! If you haven't celebrated already, I hope you can use some of these ideas! "I WOKE UP LIKE THIS!" I bought the wig from Party City, found my best "granny" clothes I had in my closet and become Mrs. Aribo at 100 years. My kids loved it! Funniest part of the day was when my wig fell halfway off my head during the math lesson. I have ALOT of hair... Oops! As soon as the kids got in they had a folder (folded large piece of construction paper) and cover to color (Source: Mel D from Suesstastic) , stickers, bingo markers, and 10 strands of construction paper. I wanted them to get their hats made right away so that it wouldn't take out too much of our instructional day. I preassembled the ten strips onto the large strip and all they would have to do is add 10 stickers, drawings, or use the bingo markers. I used the "100 Days Smarter" template from Cara's (The First Grade Parade) 100 Days Freebie Packet. Then they had the option to have me close it or leave it open! I had one buddy that wanted to leave it open. I loved that he didn't mind being different! MUSIC: To make it even more fun I had a 100 Days Playlist playing the background on repeat. Here's the link to my 100 Days Playlist. I also loved Cara's stations idea and I thought with our time constraint that would be the best way to get the most out of our time. My kids are also awesome at our usual centers so there wasn't a lot of management necessary. I had 6 stations going! I placed everything they needed in labeled bins and quickly went over each station and the contents of the bins. I let them know that there were directions if they forget and that I would be walking around. I also had printed out some other 100 day activities to put in their folder, so that if they finished their station early before time was up, they had something else to engage in if necessary! Here are some 100 day freebies I stuck in their folders 100 Days Graph , 100 Day Freebie from Two Pink Peas,100th Day Freebie from Cahill's Creation. STATIONS (Sorry I wasn't able to take pictures of everything: hopefully the explanation will suffice). If you would like a copy of bin labels and recording sheets CLICK HERE 1. Build It to 100: The students during our math lesson had to use the cubes. I had them "help" me figure out the best way they could organize the cubes so I could quickly count out 100 for their bins. I told them I didn't have much time.. and they told me to put them into groups of ten ;) . I then had 3 bins of 100 cubes and they were to try to build something using all the cubes. For once I told them these cubes are not just our math tools, but they can be treated as TOYS (and they all cheered!! hah) 2. Read to 100: I had a bin of words ranging from sight words to CVC words. I just took words I already had in their literacy station. They were to read and record as many words as possible. 3. Pattern Block to 100: Students created a design using 100 pattern blocks. It was so nice to see their creative juices flowing! So sad I didn't get to take any pics! 4. 100 Years Old Selfie!: The students drew a picture of themselves at 100 yrs old vs. today. I used the template from this freebie from Cahill's Creation! I downloaded an App called "AgingBooth" and at the end of the station I took a picture of the kids so they can see themselves transform. I put them all in a folder on the IPAD and played it as a slideshow at the end of the day. SUPER EASY and fun! 5. Roll and Race to 100 - Oldie, but goodie! The kids rolled two dice add them together and marked it on their 100 chart with the bingo marker. Whoever got to 100 first won! I told the kids they could play multiple times and just choose a different color bingo marker. 6. 100 Day Necklace - This station took the longest to complete so if the kids didn't finish in time, I let them stay for a second round. The kids that were meant to go to this station just joined them. I had this laid out at large table so if a 2nd group joined it would be ok. I never had more than two groups at a time. If you have a lot of kids, you might want to just make this a separate whole group activity. This page from Mrs. Jone's Creation Station 100th Day of School Freebie helped them speed things up. We got all the stations done in an hour and a half (15 minutes at each station) to end our day and it was a success! The kids had a blast and I didn't go out of my mind. I can't wait for next year!

100th Day Activities This past week my class celebrated the 100th Day of School. Here are some of the activities that filled our fun filled day! 100th Day Letter for Parents Our classroom door! I decorated our classroom door so the students would walk into the room excited about the 100th day of school. Bead necklace Bead Necklace Bead Necklace I gave each student a long line of yarn. One end I taped to the student's desk and on the other end I wrapped tape around it so the students could easily string the beads on. Then I passed out a plate to each student. I have three tables with six students at each. I put a bag of beads at each table. The students counted ten beads and placed them on their plate. Then they put them on the yarn. When I saw a table was finished putting the beads on the yarn, I switched the beads at each table. We continued this until the students had ten sets of ten. Once they were finished I tied the yarn and they put on their 100 bead necklace. The kiddos LOVED these. Before the 100th Day, get 100 chocolate kisses and number them 1-100. Hid them throughout the classroom before the students come in. Throughout the day, the students searched the classroom for chocolate kisses. When they would find one, they would look at the number written on the bottom of it and place it on the same number on the 100 chart. I quickly learned that I needed to set up rules for doing this because my students were running around the room in excitement grabbing handfuls of kisses. I quickly laid down the law with telling the students they could only search for kisses in between the activities we were doing or after they finished their activity. I also told them they could only have one kiss at a time. This helps SO much! All the students were very excited to do this and they couldn't wait to collect them all so they could eat some. 100's Chart Students filled out a 100 chart. Students stayed silent for 100 seconds. Students counted to 100 by 1's, 5's, and 10's. Students did 100 exercises. Students drew themselves today and then drew what they would look like in 100 years. 100th Day Hat 100th Day Hat We made Happy 100th Day Hats! Before the 100th day, I had my assistant cut and staple ten stripes of construction paper to a sentence strip. Then on the 100th Day, the students used different things to make one hundred on their hat. This year I did, 10 dots of blue paint 10 dots of white paint 10 dots of purple paint 10 foam big circles 10 stickers 10 foam small circles 10 stickers 10 butterfly hole punches 10 cloud hole punches 10 flower hole punches We started the dots with the paint in the morning and then ended up finishing up the hats in the afternoon. Once the hats had all the ten pieces of paper covered with ten things, I measured each child's head with the sentence strip and stapled it together. The construction paper flapped over and made the hats looks wild. These hats are so much FUN! Happy 100th Day!- Label for hat Counting by 10's caterpillar. I passed out two sheets of paper with circles. The students colored these circles however they chose to. Then they cut them out and glued them in order counting by 10's. Zero and Zerona the Hero The students enjoying Zero and Zerona the Hero. Every ten days Zero the Hero or Zerona the Hero showed up in our classroom. They got the students excited about being another ten days smarter. Who ever showed up would say a poem to the class and they would count by tens with the students help. (some years I have them bring a zero snack, but recently I always forget so they just show up). On the 100th Day, both the Hero's show up since there are two zeros in 100. Again a poem is read. I also have a pink cape (Zerona the Hero) and a red cape (Zero the Hero) that I choose a student to wear on the tenth day. On the 100th Day I have two students wear the cape. 100th Day Snack Mix For our snack on the 100th Day, I set ten snacks around a table. I call each student up to the table and give them a zip lock baggie. The students count 10 of each item for their snack. Dollar Students get a big piece of green construction paper. I passed out four number ones to each student to cut out. The students glued the ones to each corner of the green paper. Then I passed out a picture of George Washington for the students to cut and glue to their green paper. Next I pass out pennies to the students. They have to put 100 pennies on the their dollar. Pennies Ones for Dollar George Washington Picture 100 designs I gave each student a blank piece of paper and a one and two zeros cut out in black paper. I told the students to create a picture with the numbers. It could be anything they wanted to make it. Then they glued the numbers on and created their creation. Our 100th Day went by SOOOOO fast! I'm 100 years old for the 100th day! Every year I usually wear my 100th Days Smarter shirt from Really Good Stuff, however this year was different. I wanted to be different. I decided to dress like I was 100 years old. It was so much fun! I loved seeing everyone's reaction to me. Most people didn't know who I was, which I guess is a good thing, right? My kiddos thought it was so funny that I was dressed up. They were really concerned about my hair not going back to normal. Every time I would talk like a grammy, they just thought it was the funniest thing. I am so glad the students enjoyed it. I am hoping this day will be a day that the students remember. 100th Day Contract- Students receive this contract to complete for homework on the 100th Day.
