I needed to make a set of thank you cards for my son who was recently confirmed at our church and received some gifts that need to be acknowledged. To keep things easy on myself I decided to use the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and take away one less design decision. The trio of "something" can always be so many great things but I decided to stick with the squares shown and pair the layout with the new Full of Life DSP. I started with a Basic White thick card base, then embossed a piece of Basic White with the retired Brick & Mortar embossing folder. This one seemed to fit the clean look I was going for and the rectangle shapes echo the other squares on the card. I added the Basic Black strip at the bottom following the sketch. Then I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut 3 squares for each card. The Full of Life DSP is so pretty with vibrant colors in a watercolor look and different geometric patterns or washes on the back sides. I stuck with the small square pattern and just cut 3x3 blocks that fit perfectly with the die cut squares. Once the DSP was added to the squares I adhered them to the card front in a kind of color gradient arrangement. The sentiment from Simply Said is stamped in Memento Black on strips of Basic White and then the edges are angled. They are adhered with mini dimensionals. Now the trick is to get the teen to write them out in a timely fashion! Any one have tips?? All of the current supplies used to make this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE. Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today? Stamps: Simply Said Ink: Memento Black Paper: Basic White thick, Basic White, Basic Black, Full of Life DSP Accessories: Stylish Shapes dies, dimensionals, Brick & Mortar embossing folder (retired)

It's the end of the school year and if you're like me, you're scrambling to find cute ways to tell your kids' teachers just how much you appreciated them. (Any fellow room parents out there? You know what I'm talking about!) Well, have you ever tried making your own folding surprise card? This flower card is one crafty way to thank teachers for helping your kids to grow! "Thanks for helping me to grow" Folding Surprise Cards Let's get crafting! Step 1: Cut a piece of computer paper in half. (You can also just make a card from one sheet of paper, but then it will be very large.) Step 2: Fold a piece of paper in half. Step 3: Take the top flap and fold it in half upwards. (Valley fold) Step 4: Draw your flower(s) and pot(s) on the card. Write "Thank you" on the top half of the card above the fold. Also, somehow mark where the fold of your paper is on the bottom half (either with the tips of leaves or with lines drawn on the stem.) You'll need this to help you with the next step! Step 5: Open up your card. Connect your stem, add more leaves, and add the rest of the message "for helping me/us to grow! Love, _____." Note: To make sure that you cannot see hints of what's to come inside, make sure your message and leaves only span from the top fold all the way to where you noted the bottom portion of the fold in Step 4. (It's the area between my 2 fingers!) Anything drawn above or below this area will be shown when the card is closed. Color and then you have your very own folding surprise card! If you liked this card, check out our surprise smiling face cards! They also grow. Happy making, friends!

After having showed you all the cards that I've made with Pop-up Card Studio, I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one having all the fun. So I made some for you to play with! Surely you didn't think I was going to leave you out of the pop-up card party, did you? ☺ The links to the downloads can be found at the end of this post. After you have downloaded and extracted the files, you will find the templates for 2 pop-up cards in 3 different formats- .studio, .mtc, and .svg. I recommend that you use the file format for the program that you intend to use. For example, if you are using Make-the-Cut, please use the .mtc file, or if you are using Silhouette Studio, please use the included .studio file. This is because each file is optimized for the program and you will get the best results by using the appropriate file format. Of the two cards included, one is for print-and-cut. Please note that only the registration marks and the word "thank" should be printed. This is how your print preview should look like if you use Silhouette Studio: If you use Make-the-Cut, please close the eye for the score lines before printing so that those dashed marks are not printed. Be sure to open the eye again to un-hide that layer when you are really to cut. This is how the print preview should look like if you are using Make-the-Cut: Each card was designed to fit inside an A2 (5.5" x 4.25") card. After cutting out the template, just fold and adhere to the card base. Click on the links below to download the cards. Enjoy! thank YOU print-and-cut Pop-up card. THANKS Pop-up card.
