This volume brings together accounts from facilitating or 'brokering' researchers in three settings afflicted by armed conflict, including DR Congo, Sierra Leone and Jharkhand, India. Indispensable to the research practice carried out by so-called 'contracting researchers', who are often based in the Global North, it is these facilitating researchers who truly regulate the access and flow of knowledge, and yet are often referred to merely as 'fixers', with their contributions systematically erased in the final research texts. This book recounts first-hand the varied and crucial roles played by such researchers, meanwhile bearing witness to the insecurities and scarce resources navigated by them in order to facilitate the research of others. By listening to and learning from their experiences, the book outlines different routes towards a more equitable fieldwork, and a more collaborative process of knowledge production.

About the slide setup for Multi Age Units: As this is a multi age unit, often parts of the lessons or resources are relevant to either Stage 2 or Stage 3. To make this discrete, or easier to identify, I have used the following animals to assist. The koala icon identifies all Stage 2 content and resources. It was chosen as it is an animal that climbs height of the trees, yet also journeys back down to the ground on occasion. This symbolises building on the groundwork and foundations of Maths to develop deeper knowledge and understanding. Therefore, Stage 2 concepts will be identified by the Koala. The kookaburra icon identifies all Stage 3 content and resources. It was chosen as it is an animal that flies to new heights but also rests on branches of the trees at times. It symbolises extending on what they know, but also coming back to the foundations they were taught to consolidate their learning and then build upon it. Therefore, Stage 3 concepts will be identified by the Kookaburra. References and materials covered throughout are specifically stated/attributed within the teaching slides. Fail Blog's Afternoon Delight: 26 Memes to Get Your Blood Flowing - The internet has generated a huge amount of laughs from cats and FAILS. And we all out of cats.
It's my bi-monthly comic strip based on the madness that we often see on and off social media. It’s a twisted, funny, dark, whistle-blowing commentary on modern society.
Webtoons-a form of comic that are typically published digitally in chapter form-are the latest manifestation of the Korean Wave of popular culture that has increasingly caught on across the globe, especially among youth. Originally distributed via the Internet, they are now increasingly distributed through smartphones to ravenous readers in Korea and around the world. The rise of webtoons has fundamentally altered the Korean cultural market due to the growth of transmedia storytelling-the flow of a story from the original text to various other media platforms, such as films, television, and digital games-and the convergence of cultural content and digital technologies. Fans can enjoy this content anytime and anywhere, either purely as webtoons or as webtoon-based big-screen culture. Understanding Korean Webtoon Culture analyzes webtoons through the lens of emerging digital cultures and discusses relevant cultural perspectives by combining two different, yet connected approaches, political economy and cultural studies. The book demonstrates the dynamics between structural forces and textual engagement in global media flows, and it illuminates snack-culture and binge-reading as two new forms of digital culture that webtoon platforms capitalize on to capture people's shifting media consumption. 9 color photos, 5 color illus., 8 tables CPSIA choking or other US hazard warning - No California Proposition 65 hazard warning necessary
