YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE: VISIT AUSTIN WEEKEND GUIDE || WHERE TO STAY, EAT, DRINK AND PLAY! As promised, here's an interactive Google map for you to use on your visit. Using this will allow you to see which murals are closest to each other, and in turn, keep you from driving all over creation. Most of them you can even walk to, especially the ones near South Congress + 1st St.! Ok, let's get crack-a-lackin, Y'ALL! I'm going to take you through my mural trip through Austin, exactly how I did it. From start to finish. We kicked off the weekend with drinks at Josephine House, and right down the street about a block was... LOVE IS THE QUESTION, LOVE IS THE ANSWER 1115 W LYNN ST After a welcome cocktail, we headed back to our hotel - Hotel Van Zandt - which is right off Rainey Street. Rainey is where we spent the rest of the evening... full recap on those juicy details will be in the next post! The next morning we woke up bright and early, grabbed some iced coffee from Cafe 605 in the hotel, then walked about 40 steps over to the mural, Creator State of Mind. CREATOR STATE OF MIND 90 RAINEY ST. (SIDE OF CONTAINER BAR) From there, we drove over to Elizabeth Street Cafe for breakfast. After breakfast, we left the car and opted to walk. Turning left out of the cafe, you'll hit the following murals, all on 1st St. GREETINGS FROM AUSTIN 1720 S 1ST ST BOB BARKER COME ON DOWN MURAL 1603 S 1ST ST *BONUS MURAL* DIDN'T HAVE THIS ONE ORIGINAL ON MY LIST, BENEFIT OF WALKING! BIENVENIDOS/ FRESA'S 1703 S 1ST ST LENOIR RESTAURANT 1807 S 1ST ST *ANOTHER BONUS* NOT TECHNICALLY A MURAL, BUT TOTALLY IG WORTHY RUN DMC 1905 S 1ST ST Right about now is when you need to make a crucial decision on if you'd like to get your car or not. We did NOT get our car, and we were totally fine. It's a big of a walk in the Texas Summer heat, but nothing unbearable, 15 minutes tops. I say go for it. Or be a wimp and go get your car. LOVE FROM AUSTIN 1912 SOUTH CONGRESS AVE My personal favorite! This one is located on the side of the the store Prima Dora. WILLIE FOR PRESIDENT 1315 SOUTH CONGRESS AVE SMILE MURAL (NEXT TO WILLIE) 1315 SOUTH CONGRESS AVE Ok fine, I give you permission to go track down your car back at Elizabeth Street Cafe now. Next we drove over about 10 minutes across town (everything is SO CLOSE TOGETHER) to the Till Death Do Us Part Mural. Till Death Do Us Part E 7TH ST & WALLER ST. Then walk to another bonus mural just down the street which we found, not on our original list, I Love You, Bacon. I Love You, Bacon WALLER ST. Ok, go ahead and jump back in your car. We are heading downtown now! On the way, we pulled over real quick to snap this LIVING THE GOOD LIFE IN AUSTIN mural along the way. LIVING THE GOOD LIFE IN AUSTIN 1114 E CESAR CHAVEZ ST On our way to have drinks at La Condesa, we found this Love Will Win mural in a parking garage across from The W Hotel! Keep an eye out for parking garage murals, we saw a ton of them downtown! LOVE WILL WIN 200 LAVACA STREET Ok you still with me over there??? I hope so, because I'm not done yet! Next we headed back to the hotel to shower - but more importantly take advantage of Hotel Van Zandt's FREE HAPPY HOUR with beer, wine and margaritas! Then headed to dinner at Licha's Cantina where even THEY had three or four different murals! LITCHA'S CANTINA 1306 E 6TH STREET Outside of Licha's were several within walking distance. Which was good because we ATE SO MUCH and needed to walk it off! WHEN YOU'RE STRANGE 1310 E 6TH STREET KAMMOCK MURAL 1401 E 7TH STREET A TX 1500 E 6TH STREET The next day we went on an Austin Eats food truck tour and I spotted this Austin Howdy mural from the bus. This one is someone secluded, so you'll need to drive. AUSTIN HOWDY W 6TH ST + NUECES ST OK, let's pop back on to South Congress. We went and had the famous frosé at Hotel San Jose, and we waited in line to get the MOST popular mural in Austin, I Love You So Much. YES - WE WAITED IN LINE FOR A MURAL. PAUSE FOR REACTION. Alas, this would be an incomplete Austin mural blog post without THIS mural. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH 1300 S CONGRESS Just up the street from I Love You So Much is this heart wall located in the back of the Tom's shop. We have a wall just like it in Dallas! LOVE/HEART WALL 1401 S CONGRESS After the LOVE wall, we walked down the street to the Till I Die Wall, where you can write your goals you have before you die. If you watched my instagram stories, you'll know that wall was SUPER inappropriate. So much so that I'm just going to skip posting a photo. Feel free to check it out though, CB and I had fun writing our dreams on there - *cough* Tennessee national championship in Football. Next we went to a spot that came highly recommended by the locals, Kitty Cohen. They were having their anniversary party that night, so it was packed with tons of drink specials. I dug this place, but I REALLY dug their wallpaper. Is this a mural, no, but this is my blog post and I say wallpaper counts! PLUS - for every selfie you post on IG in their bathroom through September, they donate $1 to Safe ATX. KITTY COHEN 2211 WEBBERVILLE RD Ok ending this list with another Austin Mural Icon! You're my Butter Half is certainly in a more residential area, so you'll need to drive. It's pretty darn cute though, take it with your besite and post on INSTAGRAM, IMMEDIATELY! YOU'RE MY BUTTER HALF 2000 E MARTIN LUTHER KING JR BLVD Ok, so CB and I did our very best to cover as much mural ground as possible, how'd we do??? Want to know the best part? I'VE MAPPED EVEN MORE MURALS FOR YOU THAT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LIST! Yup, that google map up there has tons more options including the HOPE Outdoor Gallery which is an entire park filled with murals and tags. So what do you think about my list? Did you find any murals in Austin that I missed but you think I would LOVE? Let me know in the comments and I'll add it to the google map! PIN THIS POST! Here are some tips and tricks I've learned over the years from waiting tables, drinking and loving wine. 1. Don't Sniff the Cork: History of the cork: The cork is obviously in a wine bottle to keep it fresh. When you order a bottle of wine from a restaurant and the server places the cork in front of you DO NOT SMELL IT. That does nothing. The purpose of the server presenting you the cork came about in the days before wine labels existed. We didn't always have Photoshop, you know! Vineyards would print the name of the winery on the cork itself, so the wine drinker knew where the bottle came from. Today, servers still present the cork in such a manner, it is traditional. 2. Check the cork to be sure it has not rotted. If you are just dying to address the cork sitting in front of you, fine. You can pick it up and check it for rotting. The left cork is good, the cork on the right has rotted. Don't drink that. (obvi!) 3. Fun Fact: We are in a cork shortage When you see a twist cap wine bottle, it is not the wine Gods telling you, "Hey you, good work today, you earned a night off from having to use your wine opener. Be lazy and enjoy this cork-less wine." Word on the street is that we are in a cork shortage. By shortage, I mean it is expensive and companies are too cheap to pay for the cork, and opt for aluminum twist caps instead. I'm good with that. Why? I can drink that bottle in a hotel room I can drink it on the go I am lazy I have to wait less time to get to my wine 4. It is all about the glass Don't make me drink from a wine glass that is too small. Keep it simple, don't make it cutesy, and most importantly, keep it LARGE. 1. Tour Red Wine Glass // 2. 25oz Cabernet Wine Glass // 3. Laurel Champagne Glass // 4. Aha Life Hand Blown White Wine Glass // 5. Govino Stemless Shatterproof // 6. Numbered 1-8 Stemless Glasses // 7. Edge Red Wine Glass 5. Finally, here are some of my favorite inexpensive wines! Jacobs Creek: $6/bottle average My fav: Try their Shiraz Cabernet (Notice the twist caps?) Penfolds: $8/ bottle No twist caps, sad day. Tip: Australian wines are delicious and CHEAP My fav: Try their Pinot Noir The Naked Grape: $4 / bottle (!!!!) Find it at Target Any time I see this wine, I buy it Their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are fantastic Price is even better Mirassou Pinot Noir: $10/ bottle My favorite Pinot Noir (at that price point) Let's be real, if money was no object I wouldn't be buying cheap wine Smoking Loon Pinot Noir $6/bottle Have you noticed I like Pinot Noir? Freixenet Champage: $10/bottle AND, they make these in mini champagne bottles too. Don't forget to add some rock candy to your champagne flute for a little extra razzle dazzle! ***disclaimer: I'm not an expert I just drink a lot. What wines would you add to my list?

B and I had a fun week checking out East Texas and found the oldest town in Texas…Nacogdoches. And we also got to stay at the best Nacogdoches, Texas hotel… The Fredonia. Where to stay in Nacogdoches The Fredonia Hotel is located just a mile and a half from Stephen F. Austin University, and minutes from other Nacogdoches attractions. The Fredonia Hotel is not like your typical hotel. This hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel that has the best interior design, amenities, and dining choices throughout the entire place.

Ok you guys, I'm here today to spill the beans on how easy it is to make a few extra bucks, or save a few extra bucks, as a blogger. Think about it, as a blogger you've got some insanely valuable assets and skills that you've developed over the years. When you're a blogger, you're a one stop shop - you have to do it all yourself. Everything from learning photography, to editing, to SEO, to building a large and engaged following. You name it, you do it as a blogger. So, today, I figured I'd bring you 7 EASY ways to make an extra buck, or save an extra buck just using the skills you've developed from blogging all of these years! 1. #SAVE || Eat and Drink For Free Just Don't Forget Cash for a Tip This sounds far fetched, and it TOTALLY IS NOT. You also do not have to have a localized account, like Dallas Love List, to get these perks, you just have to love food (me, hi, I love food) and taking photos of your food. There are these things called MEDIA dinners, right? Basically, restaurants that are either new, or launching new menu items, invite members of the media (aka- bloggers and instagrammers) out to preview the meals. Now, yes, at these media dinners it is MOSTLY food bloggers, but certainly not ONLY food bloggers. There's almost always a rogue lifestyle or fashion blogger that has been invited. So how do you get yourself on these lists? USE RELEVANT HASHTAGS ON NEW AND EXISTING CONTENT. I'm not telling you to only start posting food, but throw some food posts in there a couple of times a month, and be sure to tag #CITYeats #CITYfoodie #CITYdrinks #CITYfood. Your posts will appear in the feeds the PR companies use to build their media invite lists. For example, not all food pics, have to be off brand. Edit your food photos just like you would your flatlays. Here's a photo I'd have no problem posting on VTIM's instagram account, even though it isn't the normal content I share. Slap on #DallasEats #DallasFoodie #DallasFood and #DallasBlogger and you're on the track to free food and drinks! #DallasLoveList 463 || The Angel 👼Food French Toast from @sixtyvines with maple syrup and fresh berries A post shared by Dallas Love List (@dallaslovelist) on Sep 17, 2017 at 10:15am PDT While you're at the media dinner, be sure to share on your stories and share your beautiful photography on instagram, post event, to keep getting invited back! YUM! 2. #EARN || Food Photography How many of us lifestyle bloggers have a DSLR and know how to use it? If you can photograph cocktail recipes for your blog, with that beautiful bokeh blurred background, you can photograph for a small restaurant in your hometown. I'm not suggesting that you go knocking down the doors at Chipotle and demand they hire you immediately to photograph the entire menu, but I bet your favorite ice cream shop would love a little help with extra photos for their social media accounts. It's worth a pitch to local restaurant brands, some will pay in cash, some will pay in free ice cream. Both are worth it to me! I worked with Mesa Restaurant in Grapevine to photograph their menu for their website. They asked if I'd be interested, and I said I would love to, it was something I hadn't even considered before! 3. #EARN || Sell Your Insta Caption I'm VERY in to maintaining my feed on Dallas Love List. I think it is the biggest asset Dallas Love List has, so I'm not willing to just throw any old photo in there. I don't make a lot of money on Dallas Love List, but one way I do, without compromising my feed is by selling out the caption and bio link for 24 hours. If a company contacts me to collaborate together, if we aren't able to work out a trade (i.e. food/drink in exchanges for social share), I tell them I'd be willing to sell them my instagram caption and I'll use a relevant photo. For example, a company that conducts paid research groups contacted me asking how we could collaborate. I suggested they purchase the caption. Turns out, it was a great campaign for them because a bunch of my followers DID signup for the research groups! Bingo-bongo - everyone is happy! #DallasLoveList 458 || If you like cash money, this post is for you 💰🤑👉🏻 I have partnered with @BecomeAThinker to bring awareness to paid research focus group opportunities in the Dallas/Forth Worth area - You'll actually get paid cash 💰 for your opinions! Visit BecomeAThinker.com (link has been added to my profile) to view the most recent focus group opportunity right here in Dallas! Sign up in their participant database to receive advance notice of research studies delivered straight to you email! #ad A post shared by Dallas Love List (@dallaslovelist) on Sep 14, 2017 at 8:24am PDT 4. #SAVE || Find Flexibility in Monthly Bills As a blogger, you have months where you are TOTALLY KILLING IT, and then, of course, months where waiting for clients is like watching paint dry. Having a cell phone plan that is flexible is something that is essential for a blogger who doesn't have a consistent income every single month. I've partnered with AT&T PREPAID to tell you how easy this plan is to maintain when you need flexibility in your life from month-to-month. There is no annual contract or credit check, and you get unlimited data, talk & text for $60/month with AutoPay. Plus, you're on the AT&T Network, the nation’s best data network, reaching more than 300 million people in North America. Oh, and did I mention you can even BYOD -Bring your own device - INCLUDING the iPhone! CB and I are on the same plan, and I've been talking him into bringing his small business on a multi-line prepaid plan which can save up to $75 a month. He could add up to five lines for a consumer account or ten lines for small business and make one easy payment each month. You can still have a phone at all times, still have access to your instagram and blog at all times and still be connected and working on growing your own personal brand, wihout having to spend a small fortune on your wireless bill. Plus, you'll have the ability to change your plan on months where money is tight! 5. #SAVE || Cover Events Repeat after me, "As a blogger who has worked so hard to build a following, I should never pay for any events I attend!" If you want to attend an event, just ask for tickets in exchange for coverage! Promise them a blog post covering the event, or perhaps, instead, a ticket giveaway prior to the event and insta story shares while at the event. 99% of the time, I'm able to find a press contact on the website of the event I'm wanting to attend. Also, I did this long before I started Dallas Love List. Take the Untapped Fort Worth Festival for example, that had nothing to do with Dallas Love List. I got those tickets via Venus Trapped in Mars! All I did was email, ask for something specific (i.e. two GA tickets) and what I'd give in return - a full blog post recapping the event. Friday night fun @tasteofdallas repping @dallaslovelist! Snap pic, sip cocktail.... repeat! 😍 A post shared by Sarah Webb / Venus Trapped (@iamsarahwebb) on Jun 9, 2017 at 7:10pm PDT Have you found any other, awesome ways to save money as a blogger? Do tell, do tell! Thank you to AT&T for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
