A beautiful gift edition of the classic Discworld novel. Eric is the Discworld's only demonology hacker. The trouble is, he's not very good at it. All he wants is the usual three wishes: to be immortal, rule the world and have the most beautiful woman fall madly in love with him. The usual stuff. But what he gets is Rincewind, the Disc's most incompetent wizard, and Rincewind's Luggage (the world's most dangerous travel accessory) into the bargain. Terry Pratchett's hilarious take on the Faust legend stars many of the Discworld's most popular characters in an outrageous adventure that will leave Eric wishing once more - this time, quite fervently, that he'd never been born. Readers adore Eric: 'Packed with references and laugh-out-loud scenes and I enjoyed myself immensely' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 'Rincewind and The Luggage are two of my favourite characters and Death makes an appearance too! He is just brilliant, one of Pratchett's many masterpieces of imagination. The book is laugh aloud funny as all his books are' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 'Fresh and funny and fast paced and so damn entertaining. It reminded me exactly why I fell in love with Pratchett's Discworld in the first place' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 'Rincewind takes the reader (and, this time, Eric and a parrot) on a hilarious, frenetic and fast-paced journey; for running away is his specialty. . . True British comedy and wit, rollicking fun' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 'This is one long sequence of gags that manages to have several shrewd observations about humanity while still being funny' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

I love my new office. And my new Macbook (I may have mentioned that, already, can't remember for sure) and my new-look desk at work. This is it: Yes, you can never have enough flatscreens in front of you. And my new computer lets me drag windows from one screen into the others. It's a lot of fun. And makes me feel like I'm a character in Avatar. Or possibly a mission controller at NASA. Or just a geek. Sadly, though, it's recently been bought to my attention that I'm really punching above my weight. I've been comprehensively outclassed by none other than Terry Pratchett: I guess that sometimes you just have to admit that you're out of your league...

On 18 February 2009, over a year after he had been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's, one of the world's favourite fantasy authors became Sir Terence David John Pratchett, OBE. On 12 March of this year, Sir Terry (or Pterry, as many of his fans know him) passed away in his home in Broad Chalke (a very Discworldly name), Wiltshire, England. Sir Terry's coat of arms, from File 770. Sir Terry inspired a few generations of writers and artists with his fictional universe of Discworld, a planet shaped like a disc carried on the back of four elephants on top of a giant turtle. Far-fetched as the world seems, the people who lived in it were very real, rounded characters who contained whole worlds in themselves. Art by Paul Kidby, from The Last Hero Sir Terry created stories that would stay with us our whole lives, and jokes that were so funny we sometimes didn't notice how profound they were. His books were famous for passages that were short, sharp, and full of truth as well as humour. In his memory we include our favourites here, along with illustrations from fantasy masters who also had a great impact on our lives. Art by Alan Lee 'Geography is just physics slowed down, with a few trees stuck on it.' - Feet of Clay Art by Donato Giancola 'If you trust in yourself. . .and believe in your dreams. . .and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.' - The Wee Free Men Art by Wayne Anderson 'Apes never admired the sleek of the fur and the burn of the eye, because they were too well aware of the teeth of the mouth.' - Lords and Ladies Art by James Gurney 'Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.' - A Hat Full of Sky Art by Brian Froud 'Freedom is like having the top of your head opened up.' - Feet of Clay Art by Kinuko Y. Craft 'Humans need fantasy to be human. To be the place where the falling angel meets the rising ape.' - Hogfather Thank you, Sir Terry.
In Pratchett’s satire of religious institutions, the god Om is reborn in the body of a tortoise and must enlist the help of his prophet, Brutha. Artist and Discworld fan Omar Rayyan explains how he illuminated a new edition of Small Gods
