Hi everyone ... my card today is a pyramid card. These are fun and are fairly simple to make once you know how. I have included a few different angles of this card today ... the front on photo above and then 2 photos of it side on which you can see below. Ok so how are these made, you will need: 2 pieces of card 10.5cm square (4inches) color 1 1 piece of card 10.5cm square (4 inches) color 2 1. Fold all pieces of card in half to create a triangle .... unfold. 2. Postition the 2 pieces of card that are the same color side by side as per the diagram below so that the fold starts from the centre (where the two cards meet) out towards the lower outside edges. 3. Place the 3rd piece of card (the different colored piece) so that the fold runs along the join of the previous 2 pieces. Adhere this piece so that the right side is over the square on the right and the left side is under the square on the left ... see diagram below. 4. Cut a slit as indicated this is so that when the card is folded in upright position the card remains closed (this is optional) 5. Decorate your pyramid card as desired. Recipe: Stamps: Bee - Stampendous Paper: Lavendar Lace & Elegant Eggplant - SU; White; Floral Stack Pack - DCWV Other: Black Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Purple Brads; White Gel Pen; Foam Tape

Today I am joining stampers from around the world taking part in Kylie Bertucci's Monthly International Blog Highlights. I have chosen to use the Forever Fern stamp set and the coordinating Forever Flourishing dies on a teepee card. The Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) is from the Forever Greenery Bundle also. Teepee cards look intimidating but are really quite easy to make. Card Measurements Card Base: Comes in two pieces: a) 20cm x 10cm scored at 10cm landscape and from 10cm score to corner diagonally on each side (as per photo below) b) 10cm x 10cm scored diagonally corner to corner (as per photo below) DSP or 1st layer: 9.5cm x 9.5cm squares of SDSP or DSP (x2) each square CUT diagonally corner to corner (as per photo below except you will need to cut both 9.5cm x 9.5cm pieces). You'll only need 3 of these triangles to decorate your teepee. Preferably choose DSP that doesn't have a specific direction or otherwise one of your pieces will be upside down. Inside layer: 9.5cm x 9.5cm square cardstock Scraps: Whisper White to stamp flowers and leaves on and Gold Foil The photo above shows how your pieces will fit together and all your score lines and the photo below shows the actual position they should be in to glue them together. The inside of the card is shown above and shows how the insert for your greeting and the velcro are placed and attached. To make the card into a teepee fold the two flaps (from the 20cm x 10cm piece) one over the other. The velcro will be on the inside on one (here it's the left one) and the other piece of velcro will be on the outside (in this case the right hand one which is why you can't see it). Once you have glued your cardstock pieces together, you can add your DSP triangles and any further embellishments you desire. Add velcro (as shown in inside card photo) to enable card to be opened and closed. You could also use a brad. This card will also fold flat for posting and will fit inside a C6 envelope. Don't forget to join in the fun and vote for your favourite entry (preferably mine 😉). You can vote for your 5 favourite entries by clicking on the heart in the top right corner of each entry. Click on the image below and you will be taken to the blog hop. Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog. Please leave a comment at the end of the post. I just love 3D items, and this one is no exception. It 's been a while since I've made a Pyramid card, so I reviewed a tutorial on You Tube here Although this is a 3D card, it folds closed for mailing. Supplies Used: Stamps: Snow Place, Peaceful Pines Inks: Black Memento, Real Red, Markers (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie) Papers: Garden Green, This Christmas DSP, Whisper white, Real Red, Gold Glimmer Accessories: Snow Friends thinlets, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, Medium star punch, X-acto knife (non SU), Silver Tinsel Trim (retired), dimensionals, glue dots
I had a couple requests for instructions on my little teepee card shown in the CTD challenge, so here you go! I'll post the directions first, then the picture! It's rather long but it goes quickly! Again, thanks to Sue Selfridge, my fellow Rubber Dubber, for her demonstration of this card. Start by cutting 3 squares of cardstock; in this example, I have cut these 4" so when it is unassembled, it will still fit into an envelope. Score each square diagonally. This is the time to stamp your pieces if you like: Lay one piece diagonally on your work surface, right side down. The crease should be going up & down (vertically). Lay the next piece on top, (as shown), again right side face down. Make sure the edges fit next to the folds snugly; you don't want them right on top of each other, but next to each other so they can be folded easily. Adhere the piece down, making sure you don't put adhesive on the areas that will be exposed on the other side! Now, flip the whole thing over, and adhere the other square the same way, but with the right side facing out. Again, make sure you don't put adhesive on the exposed areas! Now fold your card together to see how it fits: Now, if you just wanted to display your card, you add your decorations and adhere everything together! But if you want to mail your card, you will need to make a little slit for the outer corner to fit into. This way it can be unfolded to go into the envelope. I just marked two pencil marks on either side of the overlapping panel when it was in place. Obviously, I have moved the panel so you can see the marks. I then cut a slit with my craft blade. You could also just use your cutting blade or a pair of scissors. Now, you can tuck the corner of the panel into the slit. Just make sure if you decorate this panel, do not glue down the top layer of cardstock at this corner; it makes it a bit too thick to try to get into the slit. Just tuck the bottom layer under. Now to make a smaller layer for decorating, I cut another square 1/4" less than my original square. So I have cut this square 3 3/4". Then I cut it in half diagonally: On the diagonal side that you just cut, measure down to 3 3/4". I made a mark--you can see it next to the arrow. Now cut across the cardstock, from the left corner (shown at bottom center of photo), to the mark. This will give you a panel to layer. If you want three panels, you can do the other half, then you'll have to cut a second square and repeat the steps. So here is my finished card: I hope this was helpful! I can't wait to see what you come up with! I would like to add some ribbon, but can't quite figure out how to do that, so if anyone has some ideas, let me know! TFL! Well what a busy week! I have been busy getting ready for this months Craftea Afternoon workshop. This month we are making Pyramid cards with a festive twist! Each card contains a secret compartment to fill with sweats and goodies (I forgot to take a picture of this part tho!!!! typical!) Here are a couple of my samples! The arms velcro together in order to keep the card standing. The wonderful thing about these cards is that you can fold them flat to post (great if you aren't including sweets! unless you flatten them too!) These are the lovely cards made by my very clever ladies! Aren't they beautiful! So much creativity! If you would like to have a go at making a standard pyramid card then here is one of my tutorials. Sorry it's so short today! Hope you are all well and had a creative week! I shall be popping by Handmade Harbour as usual to see what some fellow bloggers have been up to so please do pop by and say hi!

Hello, Crafters. This morning I uploaded my video which shows how easy it is to make TeePee Cards I’ve seen these made several different ways but it always struck me as being rather complicated and put me off trying! Hi Everyone, I have had lots of requests for a tut for the Teepee card, instead I am going to give you the template I made for my card. There are lots of templates and tuts around blog land, but they use either 2 or 3 pieces of card and you have to tie or velcro the card together, undo it and flatten it out to go into an envelope, then hope the recipient can work out how to assemble it or add instructions in the envelope with the card. My version uses one sheet of A4 card and with the addition of an extra crease line can be completely assembled and stuck together, it then folds flat for posting and will just pop back into shape once taken out of the envelope. Now I am not an expert template maker, I only usually do them for my own use, and often have to tweak them while working on the card, but hopefully this will be OK and at least point you in the right direction. Just click on the pic to make it bigger then right click and save as. DST - Double sided sticky tape If you want to dangle things from the top of the card, you will need to snip a small amount from the point and add your dangles before sticking the card together. There is also a template for cutting the backing paper (which will be slightly smaller than the shape it is going onto) to decorate your card, again you may have to trim or tweak it a little. Here is a pic from the side so that you can see how the extra crease works, just push the other two sides together, the crease folds in and you can just pop it into an envelope. Hope all this makes sense and you find the templates useful. Please don't post this template on any websites, forums, blogs etc. instead if you know someone who would like this then please direct them to this blog, thank you. I also found out yesterday that I had won the Scrapbook sisters half yearly challenge draw. It seems that all the challenge winners for the past six months are entered into a random draw for a stack of fabulous goodies and I won Woohoo!!!, here's a pic of all the crafty yumminess that is heading my way. How lucky am I?

I have the cutest cards to share today!!! I love this card so much and it's so easy to make. It's such a cool card and I promise anyone you send it to will be impressed with this card. I learned how to make this card from Rachel Tessman who shared a version made with the December Paper Pumpkin. These card do fit into a standard size card envelope if you position everything correctly. My first couple that I made I made the mistake of putting them on the wrong panel. Check out my video where I show you what not to do. So you can be successful every time! The DSP on all of the cards is from the Best Dressed package. It's a beautiful package of floral DSP that I simply LOVE! You can find a full supply list under the video. The card stands simply by inserting the last corner into a slit we'll make in the card. Isn't that awesome! You could also use Velcro or small magnets to hold it closed as well. Measurements: 3 pieces of 4"x4" Cardstock Score Diagonally 3 Triangle pieces (3 3/4" x 3 3/4" square cut in half diagonally) Create slit in one square. Place one square at 1 3/4" on Paper Trimmer with score line going from bottom left to top right. Cut slit about 1/2" from bottom to score line. Check out the video below for all the details on this amazing card! Thanks for looking, see you soon!!! I found this great YouTube video HERE but I modified measurements to better fit into a A2 envelope. I also added DSP to one side and the bottom of the teepee. The best way to figure this out is to do a template. The bottom small pieces must be added before the squares are connected. * Magnets were purchased HERE. ** Add your embleshments after you finish the card. Keep in mind that you should make this adjustment AND how the card fits in the envelope.
Have you ever tried a Tee Pee or Pyramid fold card before? This is definitely a WOW but you'll be amazed at how little effort this takes to make!!

Every month for my Stampin' Up Clubs I share a couple of demonstrations. These are fun projects to share and I always promise to put up the details on my blog. For this month I shared how to make these "Pyramid" cards. I absolutely love them and thought they were SO hard, but they aren't as the girls learned!! These "cards" are mailable because they can be flattened and inserted in an envelope! You might want to include a little explanation on how they are reassembled, but they ARE mailable which is NICE!
