First Presbyterian Church is one of two landmark downtown churches in the small city of Tecumseh. This is the eighth oldest Presbyterian congregation in Michigan, having been founded in 1825 and the present church building was dedicated in 1869. I shot this in the late afternoon today, as I drove home from the nearby town of Tecumseh. The farm is located on Allen Road, which was no doubt named for this family, who likely established this as one of the first farms in the area. View On Black

Wood had this house built next door to his parents in 1899, though he only lived here for a short time. The architecture has elements of the earlier Queen Anne style as well as the later Colonial Revival style. Leon and Mary Rosacrans were subsequent owners of the home.
