I thought this was great. Ferrin Gallery in Pittsfield, MA has a current exihibition titled “teapot interpretations” (all media). I was looking through the photos they have online and I…
Awhile back I had gotten into the habit of using beautiful teacups with my morning coffee. I was so sad when my favorite chintz teacup broke, but tried to be optimistic---it meant I had a reason to buy MORE teacups! When I stumbled across these, I couldn't resist. They were lovely with all my favorite elements--roses, chintz pattern and the color pink! I was so happy to have found them--they are large in size and just help me to start the day off right... They came in a beautiful box pictured below and satin cloth, that is wonderful for storing them if needed. Here are my teacups posing with my pink pearls that my husband bought me a few years back as a birthday gift. My daughter, Naomi, took these photos (Naomi Elizabeth Photography). She has quite a knack for photography and finding the beauty in everyday things. One time she took close up shots tulips leaves (yes, just the leaves) and it just looked amazing--like art! These photos were taken on my deck and capture our redbud tree making its welcoming appearance for spring in the background. Yesterday I had posted the shot above this one for my Facebook timeline cover and several people wanted to know where I got them from so I promised to blog about it. You can get these charming tea pretties at Amazon by clicking HERE. These make a great gift for mother's, sisters, and daughters alike! Hello everyone, I hope you have time to join me for a relaxing afternoon tea today. One of my favorite teapots is already for our tea. And of course we want to enjoy our tea in a pretty teacup with a beautiful bouquet of lilacs.Lilac season is just starting here. Dainty tea sandwiches are already. Pick your favorite teacup. Peony season is not here yet this year but very soon! Help yourself to some homemade scones. Let's have a seat in the garden, shall we? These vintage wicker chairs are so comfy! Maybe you would like a bouquet to take home with you? I am joining Mosaic Monday at Lavender Cottage today. Thank you for visiting! Carolyn
It's been a week of contrasts. Happiness over my daughters new house and sadness because my youngest uncle Peter passed away much too soon. He was one of the people who made my life brighter. He was kind and generous, a bon vivant, keen gardener, amazing cook and collector or art and porcelain. We could talk for hours. He always managed to put a smile on my face, even when he was very ill. From the very beginning, somewhere in 2009, he followed my blog. Keeping in touch with his 'favourite niece', as he used to say:-) I will miss my 'favourite uncle' very much! I am fortunate to have so many happy memories: walking hand in hand with him (a hip teenager) as a toddler, listening to The Beatles, helping him out in his restaurant and drinking wine in a beautiful vineyard in Wahlwiller. I will cherish those memories forever. A big hug to my aunt, who I wish lots of strength, to get her through this difficult time in her life. On the photo's you can see how our breakfast table looked like on Christmas day. My uncle would have loved it. It really felt more like a spring table, with the pastel colours and floral china :-) Wishing you all lots of Love, Happiness and Health for the new year ! I hope 2013 will be a good one! Love, Madelief x
