We gathered up 40 of the BEST Christmas Treats to share with you today! Lots of these are so adorable and easy to make.
For the past three years, my boys and I have been "boo-ing" our neighbors! Ring the bell and run... That may be their favorite part. :) It all started four years ago. We had only lived in our sweet neighborhood for a few months, and one of our neighbors surprised us with some yummy Halloween treats on our doorstep. We've continued this festive tradition with our neighbors ever since. I found these adorable printables on Pinterest. You can download them for free from Amber over at Crazy Little Projects. I found the "Boo" sparkly ghost decoration at Party City for $1.49. I ran into Dollar Tree to get some wrapping paper this afternoon, and I stumbled upon these Halloween balloons. I thought they would be the perfect addition to our BOO goodies. This would be so fun to do in school during the month of October. Our sunshine committee always did "Boo Buddies." Each teacher was paired up with another teacher, and we brought our Boo Buddy special treats and goodies the week before Halloween. I love "You've been Boo-ed" because you can get your students involved. Any teacher, principal, or member of the sunshine committee could start it. The class would put together a little bag or basket of goodies for another class and secretly deliver it. When the class receives it, they put the "We've been Booed" sign on their classroom door. Then it's their turn to "BOO" another class. {Crazy Little Projects} What goes inside of the goodie bag? ANYTHING YOU WANT! Here are a few ideas: Halloween stickers, witch fingers, pumpkin pencils & erasers, caramel apple lollipops, pumpkin muffins, Halloween cookies, a Halloween game for the class to play, Halloween coloring pages, etc. The Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, Target, Oriental Trading, and Party City have tons of Halloween party favors if your school isn't allowed to give out candy or edible treats. Hope you and your students have fun!

Hello my friends! I hope your Monday is going well so far! I just wanted to share a quick project. When my daughter was in Pre-School a few years ago, I made these as little favors for her class. I decided to make some this year. I used surgical gloves. You can find them at Walgreens, Walmart, Rite-Aid. For the fingers I used Smarties. Then I filled them rest of the way with mini Hershey candy bars and mini Reese's peanut butter cups, and Hershey Kisses. I had to add a little ring. Once filled, I just tied them with craft ribbon. Easy peasy. I would keep them away from small children. These are great for older kids and adults. Thanks so much for stopping by! I would really love to hear from you! Have a great week! Lots of Hugs, Laura (The Queen)

I'm addicted to Halloween candy. Every. Single. Year. I can't help myself. The number of trick-or-treaters that we get at our house goes down each year, but what if it goes up again? And what if we run out of candy!? Once we had to run to the store on Halloween night to get more candy because we ran out, and I'm pretty much scarred from that experience. (But in case you're wondering, the candy was already on sale. Bargain!) Now I buy two or three big Costco boxes of mini chocolate bars at the beginning of September each year (and I
It feels great to get something accomplished. I found these Halloween treats over at Ladybug's Teacher Files. Kristen had them for a free download - which I truly appreciate. I was a little nervous about using so much color, but there are 5 per page. Her picture is much better than mine - just saw the marker spots on my kitchen table in the background. Michael's (craft store) had packs of 15 glow bracelets for only a dollar, which when I was able to use my teacher ID discount became even cheaper. I ended up grabbing up 8 packages since I didn't know how many casualties I would have. Only snapped 3 of them as I was sticking the connectors to the bottom of the sticks before I taped them on. I'm pretty proud of myself. I love a good deal. I did exactly what Kristen did and added 3 bracelets for each little note. Isn't the note adorable?!? "A bit of light for Halloween night!" I'm sure my school kiddos will love their little treat! My own boys are just glad that I have an extra whole package for them to use on Halloween night and for the sword fights they use them for in the dark laundry room. Hope you have a good day!

Well, it's four days after the storm and Connecticut is slowly getting back to normal. Many of my co-workers and neighbors are still without power and/or water and the clean-up is taking its toll on everyone's spirits a little. We've certainly seen worse storms, but this one was just so widespread that its just going to take time to get everything up and running. That apparently includes the start of school. Teachers were supposed to return to work this past Monday, and the first day of school was scheduled for tomorrow. We had a slightly extended summer vacation when they canceled our work day on Monday but we went in yesterday for meetings and today to set up our classrooms. (Don't you love how they think we can really get it all done in one day?) After a flurry of activity today trying to get everything ready for tomorrow, our principal announced that there were still too many downed power lines and road closures for the children to safely make it to school tomorrow so they have decided to push back the first day to next Wednesday. Yikes! I certainly could use some more time to get the room ready, but now we're starting the year with 3 "snow" days under our belts. What can you do? I feel like I'm already joining the party late because so many of you have already posted pictures of your beautiful classrooms and mine is still not finished. Since you've let me peek into your world, I thought I would post a few pics of what I've done so far so you can take a look at my home away from home. The door to my classroom. This is what you see when you first walk in. Our school was completely remodeled a year and a half ago - how great are the cubbies? The famous Pinterest clock wall with foam clocks from Target. I LOVE this idea. What a great visual way to remind the kids when things are going to happen while also supporting their emerging time-telling skills. The front of my classroom with my BFF the Smartboard. How did I ever teach without one? My reading corner. I still need to add some pillows (and perhaps a couple of Pina Coladas...) My new Word Wall inspired by all of the great circle graphics Kristen uses at Ladybug's Teacher Files. My favorite summer "makeover" project - my guided reading table. My sister helped make the table skirt (and when I say helped I really mean came to my house and sewed it while I held the fabric) and I got the ottomans on sale at Target. I'm very into teal and lime right now so I'm lovin' it! I'll post some more pics when I'm finished. I hope your school year is off to a less bumpy start than mine. Have a great night!
We just finished our state testing and woo-hoo does it feel GREAT! With only 30 teaching days left, I am starting to make a list of all of ...
I can't believe meet the teacher night is only a few weeks away. I have been so indecisive about my whether to change my classroom theme to camping and what to give my kiddos for meet the teacher night. I have come up with a cute S'MORE gift idea that would be perfect for any camping theme. Click the tag to print out your own tags. I have also come up with another tag idea, but it uses gummy bears with a tag that says, "I'm beary excited to have you in my class." This tag is also A FREE DOWNLOAD. Another thing I have always wanted to do, but just never had time for was a new student welcome book. I just finished it up today! It has a cover, a letter page for the students, a letter page for the principal and teacher, and a fun little M&M meet and greet game. I know when a new student enters my room in the middle of the year they are nervous, scared, and excited. This is a great way to make them feel comfortable and welcomed by their peers and teacher. Check it out at my Teachers Notebook Store for only $2.00! Click the picture below for a direct link with sample pages from the book.
Say goodbye to your students or classmates and hello to summer with these fun Have an A-MAZE-ING Summer Maze Cards! A fun Cricut Project.
Over the years, I've seen many versions of the welcome back poem that goes with a goodie bag. It's one of those, "Oh, I want to do that next year," projects that I forget about by the time the next year rolls around. But since I'm super motivated to make big changes this year, I finally decided to hop on the wagon and do a goodie bag for the first day. Instead of grabbing an already created version and using it to create my shopping list, I went a little backwards. Instead, I thought of all of the things that I would like to put in the bag, bought them, then sat down with a version of the poem a teacher gave me a few years ago. I don't think anyone knows who the original author is since it's been around for so many years and edited to fit everyone's needs, but whoever began this, teachers around the world adore you and if the creator happens to be you, send me a message so I can credit you for the years of inspirations! Anyway, since I now had the items and a poem that only fit a few of them, I sat down to revise the poem for my classroom. That seemed easy, and perhaps I should pretend it didn't take me hours to get it just right, but it did. I'm very happy with my final poem and of course, it wouldn't be right if I didn't add some polka dots as well! I've used the polka dot borders for EVERYTHING this year! You can get them at Free Polka Dot Classroom Labels. So for my bags I included the following items: white lunch bags (Target) fifth grade specific pencils (Really Good Stuff) Welcome bracelet (Really Good Stuff) - These were a big hit last year Eraser Sharpener Lifesavers, Smarties, Laffy Taffy, Starbursts You can grab the poem here: Welcome Back Poem for Back to School I can't wait to surprise the kiddos with these on the first day!

Sometimes you just need to know someone appreciates you! Here's a simple and fast way to let others know you're thinking of them. It really doesn't get much easier than this! Buy a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and print out these tags on cardstock. Click here to print your own tags. Cut tags apart and tape them on the peanut butter cups. Of course I used coordinating washi tape, but any tape will do. Hand deliver to your people! These tags also have a 'We appreciate you' option. Open download and choose which page to print. Click here for download. **Confession: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are my favorite! I can eat an entire bag and not even feel sick! Isn't that terrible? I can't believe I just shared that?! So, if you happen to like this candy and plan to make these treats, print out the tags BEFORE you purchase the candy, so you're ready...otherwise you'll eat the whole bag yourself and never get around to handing them out.
