A Tangled Birthday Party with Pascal cake pops, Maximus rice krispies, hanging vines, sun emblem banners, princess dress costume + crown topped Rapunzel cake
So, this post is a little late....and by a little late, I mean about five months late! Colbie's cute birthday party was back in April when she actually turned three! But, I'm just barely getting to blogging it now! I know, I know, took me long enough! :) When I asked Colbie what type of birthday party she wanted, she told me "a Rapunzel Unicorn party!" So we combined it and made it work! My sweet friend Sara from Sara Cakes and Cupcakes made the adorable cake and cupcakes (she's so talented!). We also had a surprise visit from Rapunzel! One of my sweet brides is a professional princess (Pretty Little Princess Events) , and I couldn't help but have her come! Colbie was so in love with her, as you'll see from the pictures! We had so much fun with story time and a performance by her, face painting, dancing, and a super yummy cake! For her second birthday I went a little crazy on the decorations, and I thought this year I was toning it down a bit. :) I did sort of! Most of these decorations were made from dollar store plastic table cloths and fake flowers! It was so fun to dream and come up with! I hope Colbie felt like a little princess! The best part of all was being surrounded by Colbie's best little friends! It was truly a little princess party with everyone dressed up! Looking at these pictures (and having forgot the work that went into it) I'm ready to start planning next year's birthday party! :) We'll see what are sweet little wonderer comes up with! :) Sara is so amazing!! It was so cute watching Colbie sit so patiently while Rapunzel painted her face! Colbie adored her! I made these cute little felt headbands for all the girls that came! My crafting skills need a little work, haha, but it was so cute to see all of them wearing them! My favorite decoration of all! The Rapunzel "hair" on the tables! One of my favorite things about being a photographer.......being able to have really good pictures of moments like this! Cake time!! Thank you so much Rapunzel for the amazing party!! xoxo, Trisha

( Quote from Tangled, which you probably wouldn't know unless you've seen it a bajillion times like I have.) Happy 5th birthday to this little girl!!! We had a "Tangled" birthday party for Hannah last Saturday. She had about 15 little friends here. I tried to save money by making most of the decorations, so don't mind the homemade looking stuff. I think Hannah really liked it, and I suppose that's all that matters. I wish I could say that I came up with all these ideas, but I didn't. I found a lot of them on the internet. Here was the cake. It's supposed to be Rapunzel's tower, but Hannah made sure I knew that it didn't look exactly like the tower in the movie. Hey, it was easy, and it somewhat represents a tower (despite the fact that it was a bit crooked). Good enough, I'd say. Here are the goody bags for the kids. The kids really liked drinking out of those fancy cups on the table. I got this Pascal template from Disney's website to make Pascal blowers. I also found these flags here on the internet, printed them out, and glued them to that yarn. I was going to do a "Pin the Something..." on this Rapunzel but decided at the last minute not to, so it just became a decoration. Onto the party.... The kids started off by coloring a Rapunzel and Flynn Rider picture. Then we went outside and hit a Flynn Rider pinata with a frying pan. I think the kids liked doing this the best. Then we played tug of war. It only lasted like a minute, though. The birthday girl hitting the pinata. Then we went inside and opened the presents (Hannah's favorite part). And we sang happy birthday and had cake and ice cream. And here is Hannah on her real birthday (Monday) with a yummy cheesecake. Ok, yummy to me but maybe not so yummy to the kiddos. Why don't kids love cheesecake like I do? I'd say she had a pretty good weekend. And to top it off, my mom and step-dad came into town on her real birthday. What can be better than having her grandparents here on her birthday (maybe having ALL of her grandparents here)? I can't believe my little girl is 5. Can time please stop? Seems like just yesterday I was kissing her little chubby cheeks for the first time.

The best parts of being a kid are the endless energy and imagination. Give them pipe cleaners and craft glue and they’re creating masterpieces; though sometimes after a few months of being cooped up during the winter they need a little spark to get them going. Here are a few craft ideas to keep little hands occupied.
