Description The Veritas Grinder Tool Rest and the Veritas Grinding Jig can be bought at a saving of $7.50 when ordered as a set. The Grinding Jig works with any power or hand grinder that has a tool rest. The back plate is offset for short chisels, such as Japanese or western butt chisels. The brass clamping bolts have nylon washers to prevent galling; other parts are made from hard aluminum, further hardened by anodizing to prevent wear. High-friction pads ensure solid clamping without inadvertent misalignment. Fits most tool rests. The grinder tool rest can be used with 6" or 8" utility bench grinders and many belt sanders/grinders. It mounts directly to the bench in front of the grinder and can be readily folded out of the way for freehand grinding. The 4" wide table straddles wheels up to 1" wide. It is grooved for sliding jigs and center drilled for rotating jigs. The slotted arms allow a wide range of angular and height adjustments. Spring-loaded gyratory handles lock the rest solidly in position and can be rotated out of the way after locking. You can easily move it from one grinder to another or quickly remove it from the bench. Accurately machined, anodized aluminum construction. This rest is completely compatible with the Veritas Grinding Jig and Veritas Skew-Grinding Jig. Included is an angle-setting gauge to set the table to the common bevel angles of 20°, 25°, 30° and 35°. Made in Canada.
To square my disc sander’s table to the disc, I use an inexpensive welding magnet.
Most tablesaw jigs for cutting finger joints (also called box joints) mount to the miter gauge and must be tweaked every time they are reattached. I took a different approach, making a simple sled to cut one size of fingers. The finger joint jig ensures repeatable cuts without tweaking, and it rides in the miter slot

In Stock What is the Jointmaker Pro?The Jointmaker Pro is nothing more than an adjustable back saw in a frame. Rather than the blade moving forward and backward as is typical with every handsaw in the world, it is held in place and the stock, rigidly attached to linear tables, is moved over the top of the blade. The angle of attack is adjustable based upon either the thickness of the material, the width of the material or the hardness of the material, or any combination of the three. What makes the Jointmaker Pro so unusual is that it is a handsaw that is cutting from the bottom up. PRECISION CUTTING Blade with high qualityAs the core part, the high quality of the blade is the guarantee of cutting performance. If you were to take the blade and put it in a hand saw, it would work just like a dozuki crosscut pull saw. The blade is one of the finest crosscut saws made on this planet, it is patented and each tooth has four separate grinds with 28 teeth per inch (Crosscut A). Multiple blade types for choiceThere are four types of blades, Crosscut A (standard part) is the most commonly used blade, whose kerf is as small as 0.4 mm, and will satisfy most cutting requirement. Crosscut B (optional part), is best for the soft woods; Crosscut C (optional part) is a little wider than Crosscut A, this blade was designed for fret wire, but it is also used for cutting dense woods; Rip Blade (optional part) gives an incredible finish whenripping your stock, it can be used for dovetails making. NYLON GEAR The gears are nylon. This is a perfect application for nylon gears. There is no backlash and it is a low-load and low-rpm mechanism. SLIDING STRUCTURE MOVES SMOOTHLY The JMPv2 uses cylindrical guide and linear bearing system (sealed bearing), the accuracy of parallelism of all the parts is high. The system needs no adjustment or lubrication (assembled in factory). The operation is easy with lttle noise, which ensures the smooth cutting experience. Table sliding parallel with bladeThe parallelism accuracy of the sliding direction of the table, the blade and the guide rail is very high. The straightness accuracy of the cylindrical guide rail is within 0.025 mm. This parallelism accuracy can complete the fine cutting of the miniature stock. A clean and tidy cut can be obtained by this sliding system. Even if you put a small piece of paper by the side of blade on the table, then pushing the fence forward and back, you cannot find any gap between the paper and blade at all. Silent linear bearing, the cutting can be operated by one handLinear sealed acetyl bearings provide a sliding process with low friction, which avoids the clogging caused by dust getting into bearings. The noise is smaller than power tools. The cutting can be completed by one-hand operation. SIMPLE ADJUSTMENT OF BLADE HEIGHT, ANGLE AND TILTING The blade height and pitch can be easily adjusted via the keel assembly The adjustment mechanism of the keel assembly features gears with minimal backlash, which can not only ensure smooth rotation, but also the accurate setting of the blade height and pitch. The blade can be freely tilted via a trunnion assemblyThe blade can be tilted via a trunnion assembly up to 45° by left or right side. The four included stops can set the tilt angle quickly for repeat cutting. THE WOODEN FENCE AND JAWS The Fences and Trap Jaws are made of Poplar. The trap jaws can be used to hold the wood stock against fence quickly for cutting accurately. They are consumable items and replacements are available to order or you can make your own. SPECIAL PROCESSING WITH SELECT MATERIAL Anodized aluminium sliding table The sliding tables are made from anodized aluminium, which makes them not only have good anti-friction and high hardness but also the exquisite appearance of matte finishing. High-hardness cylindrical guide barThe cylindrical guide is made of 40Cr steel which is T235 hardened and tempered . After chroming, the surface of the guide bar is bright, good-looking, rust proof and hard. Japanese high quality bladeThe Blade Teeth are processed with a high-frequency heat treatment, so that they have high hardness and excellent cutting performance, allowing them to achieve fine cutting on various soft and hard wood. One of the best ways to turn thick boards into thin workpieces is by resawing them at the band saw. But if you’ve ever tried to resaw using a fence to guide the board, you know that the blade can sometimes drift, leav-ing you with an uneven cut. This simple jig takes care of that problem.
This winder stays with our design philosophy: make simple products that work exceptionally well. Six sealed ball bearings allow the winder to spin almost effortlessly while a well-balanced main winding assembly allow users to to opt to wind with or without a table clamp. Hard maple and premium maple veneered plywood are finished with Danish oil. A modular unit: An important design element that demonstrates quality to me is the ability to disassemble & service tools with little effort. Every tool that receives regular use will need to be cleaned at some point. The ability to quickly disassemble this winder sets it apart from any winder on the market at this price point. You can take the entire unit apart in less than a minute. Suppose you drop the winder and break just one part. Rather than throwing the entire unit away, you can easily purchase just the part you need from this website. Try that with an imported winder. Want to add an "art yarn" guide? Simply loosen the yarn guide set screw and replace the standard yarn guide. It's that easy. Yarn Capacity: The amount of yarn that this winder (or any winder) can hold depends on the tension placed on the yarn as it is fed into the unit and the thickness of the yarn. You should be able to get around 1 pound of fingering weight yarn on this winder. Ten ounces is about the maximum capacity of worsted weight yarn. Thicker yarns will be less. We have found that the capacity is about twice that of our little blue plastic winder. About the belts: Urethane belting is a commonly used cheap power transmission method for this industry. These belts are designed to last about 10 years. If they stretch you can cut, heat the ends, and weld them back together. There is be a little "flashing" that will need to be cut. We also sell replacement belts. Our warranty: Each jumbo ball winder we sell has a one year warranty from date of purchase against manufacturer's defects. You can tell when your item was produced by referencing the serial number on the bottom. We warrant each unit for the year on the bottom plus one year.
