The invention of the atomic bomb. Rosa Parks and the Montgomery bus boycott. Sure, you can read about these moments in a book, but why not hear from those who were actually there? This monthly mail subscription service sends detailed replicas of historical documents, like Albert Einstein's correspondence with FDR or Parks’ police report when she refused to give up her seat. Each letter comes with pertinent information to explain any additional context and cultural significance. Here's how it works: Each month, a team of archivists scours the world for fascinating documents on a given subject, like foreign diplomacy or women’s rights. Graphic designers replicate them—handwriting, signatures, and all. A letter is then sent via UPS to ensure swift delivery after purchase. Each of the subsequent five letters will be mailed via USPS First Class Mail. Whether this is just a keepsake for history buffs or a creative learning tool, get ready to feel closer than you ever have before to monumental moments throughout history. Designed and printed in Illinois. Giving this as a gift? Print out this card to let them know their subscription is on the way. Customers who purchase the first or second collection will receive the initial letter so they can give it to the recipient. At checkout, purchasers can provide the gift recipient's name and address so the remaining letters can be sent directly to them via USPS.

We can't believe it is the end of our second week already! We had some fun with our friends today and made a Statue of Liberty in celebration of our Nation's Birthday tomorrow. To add a twist to our project we used poms and clothes pins as a paint brush for our Statues of Liberty, as well as a stencil Mrs. Burns made us. We worked on fine motor control while holding our poms and clothes pins. We practiced making our paint jump lightly on the page to get a fun sponge painted look. We also talked about what happens when you mix red and blue! This project's end result gave us three pictures each! One of the stencil, around the stencil, and in the inside cut out of the Statue of Liberty. We had a lot of fun with this project! Here is an example of our work before we separated the stencil from the paper. Here is one aspect of our project - after the stencil was removed.
