Every Monday night for the next few months, a group of us will be showcasing Stampin' Up! products to use in your Christmas crafting. Tonight I have a couple of simple Christmas cards to share. I have used the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper, and a few other co-ordinating products, that will be available in the upcoming Mini Catalogue that goes live in a few weeks. I have created two cards that would be easy to make multiples of (if you're so inclined!). CARD #1: Starting with a Real Red card base, I added a Garden Green card layer. The bird-patterned paper is embossed with the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder. Here's a closer look at the embossed detail: For the sentiment panel I cut a strip of one of the other patterned papers in the Nests of Winter pack. It's a birch pattern, to complement the embossed pattern on the top paper. I sponged the edges of both DSPs with Gray Granite ink, and adhered them to the Garden Green panel. A thin strip of Real Red card was added to the join between the papers. On a piece of Gray Granite card, I stamped the bough, and cut it out with the co-ordinating die, using the Winterly Tree Tops bundle. I coloured the image with Shaded Spruce and Real Red Stampin' Blends markers, and my Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker. The sentiment, from Trucking Along, was stamped directly onto the Designer Series Paper, using Real Red ink. I added a few Earth Tones Shimmer Gems to complete my card front. Inside the card I added a Basic White card panel, decorated with a bird die-cut from another piece of Nests of Winter DSP. CARD #2: This card is my favourite of the two. I'm not as drawn to the red and green colour combination, as I am to neutrals with splashes of those two colours. I have used the same two patterned papers as on my first card, but in a landscape orientation. This time the papers are matted on a Gray Granite panel, and a Thick Basic White card base. The ribbon dividing the two patterned papers is White Diagonal Trim, that I have coloured using my Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends Marker. The sentiment was created with two stamps from Greetings of the Season - one stamped in Garden Green ink, and the other in Real Red ink. Earth Tones Shimmer Gems finish off this card, too. Oh my goodness, this Bundle is TOO cute! It's called the Sophisticated Sled Bundle and I must tell you, the dies are over the top darling! Let me show you what I mean... Look at the skates in the picture above. The dies cut out the white skates with little slits for the laces. Then there are other dies for the laces. I used Pretty in Pink cardstock, cut out the laces, and then tucked them into the little slits in the skates. They fit perfectly and look so realistic. There are separate dies for the blades, and I used

Can I start by saying I absolutely love this dsp! My favourite sheet is the one I’m using here, I always struggle to use the really pretty ones, I just don’t want to cut them. I decided to take the plunge and cut up a whole sheet to see how many cards I could make. The answer is 11 and I wasted the tiniest little scrap no bigger than a finger nail.Isn't it beautiful? I love the colour palette, the imagery and that there is some white space within the design. I cut it as follows - I like the varie

It's Christmas in July, and it's certainly not too early to start making your holiday and winter cards! In fact, doing so might just make you feel a bit cooler on these hot summer days! My
You're going to be seeing quite a few Reindeer Fun Christmas cards from me this year. This bundle is part of the Reindeer Days suite, being released on 4th September, and it is hands-down my favourite new Christmas offering. For this week's blog hop, I am sharing a card made with the cutest-ever dies from Stampin' Up! The three layering dies stack to make a reindeer head. I've also used the delightful Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper, for some added cuteness. I just LOVE cardinals, so had to feature a row of these beautiful birds. We don't have cardinals in Australia, but I've been lucky enough to see them in the US (along with hummingbirds, woodpeckers and roadrunners!). Check out the gorgeous Pool Party 5/8" Pom Pom Ribbon, that I used to make my bow. It's coming out on 4th September, too. Here's a close-up of the little reindeer head, that makes me smile every time I look at it. I die-cut the base layer from Early Espresso card, the middle layer from Basic White card, and the top layer from Pecan Pie card. I cut an extra nose (using the base layer die) from Real Red card, and inlaid it into the Basic White piece. I couldn't resist adding some (retired) Shimmery Crystal Effects to the nose. To the ears, I added a little colour using my Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends marker. The bow was cut from Real Red card. Once assembled, the cute little reindeer head was mounted on a Basic White circle, and a larger Pool Party circle, both created with Spotlight on Nature Dies. The Pool Party card panel behind the circles was decorated with a stamp from Reindeer Fun, in Pool Party ink. I also sponged the edges of this card piece, and the DSP layer, with Pool Party ink. Hopefully you won't get sick of me using the Peaceful Season bundle for my Christmas sentiments this year. It's a goodie! I stamped "Merry" on Real Red card, using Versamark ink, then heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. "Christmas" was stamped in Real Red ink on Basic White card. I used co-ordinating dies to cut out both words. Next up on tonight's blog hop is Claire Daly: If the link doesn't work, or if you'd like to see a full list of participants in this week's blog hop, head over to Sharon Davern's blog. Sharon does a wonderful job of co-ordinating our weekly Heart of Christmas blog hops. Listed below are the current Stampin' Up! products I have used to make this card. I can't yet link to the new products, as they won't be available until 4th September, but perhaps you can make a wish list now! The sale, on selected Designer Series Papers from the Annual Catalogue, is in its last week, so don't miss out if there are any beautiful papers you've been looking at. For this week's Colour Creations blog hop, we have all created projects showcasing Cherry Cobbler, Stampin' Up!'s deep red. There are some beautiful new Cherry Cobbler papers coming out on 4th September, so I have created a couple of Christmas cards to give you a sneak peek. CARD #1: This card features the glorious Season of Elegance Specialty DSP as a background. These papers didn't jump out at me when I saw them in the new Mini Catalogue, but in real life they are very special. I matted a panel of the Cherry Cobbler DSP on a slightly larger piece of Gold Foil Sheet. The card base is Very Vanilla. Here's a close-up of the sentiment, created using the Peaceful Season bundle (already my firm favourite for sentiments this Christmas). I stamped "Merry" in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla card, and cut it out using one of the label dies in the bundle. The Faux Glass Dots (also coming out 4th September), either side of the stamped sentiment, were coloured with my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker. I attached Adhesive Sheet to the back of a strip of Gold Foil Sheet, before die-cutting the word "Christmas". Once cut, it was easy to remove the backing paper and use the die-cut as a sticker. No mess! The beautiful gold Christmas tree was created with the new Decorative Trees Dies. I cut the base tree from Gold Foil Sheet, and the intricate swirly overlay from Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper. The tree was added to a Very Vanilla circle, cut using an Everyday Details Die. The slightly larger Cherry Cobbler circle was cut using a Spotlight on Nature Die. I used new Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon to create the bow. The gems in the background are more of the Faux Glass Dots (coloured using my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker), and some Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems in gold. CARD #2: The background on this card is Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty DSP. I sponged the edges in Cherry Cobbler ink before matting the panel on a piece of Very Vanilla card. I added a wide strip of Season of Elegance Specialty DSP across the card front before adding the tag. The stars were cut, using a Decorative Trees Die, from Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper and Season of Elegance DSP. After cutting a tag from Very Vanilla card, using a Greetings of the Season Die (an Online Exclusive set), I repeatedly stamped a sentiment from Decorative Trees in Cherry Cobbler ink. The Christmas tree was cut from Gold Foil Sheet (for the base) and Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper (for the decorative overlay, in a checked pattern to tie in with the background on my card). Tiny baubles were die-cut from Cherry Cobbler Glimmer Paper, part of the new Festive Glimmer Paper pack. The ribbon at the top of the tag is the new Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon. After adhering the tag to the card using Liquid Glue, I popped a Glue Dot under the knot of the ribbon, to keep it in place. The card base is Cherry Cobbler, so I added a Very Vanilla panel inside, on which to write a message. Using Versamark ink, I stamped a sentiment from Peaceful Season onto the Very Vanilla piece. After sprinkling gold embossing powder over the inked portion, I melted it with my heat tool. Next up on tonight's blog hop is Amie McIlroy: If the link doesn't work, or if you would like to see a comprehensive list of participants in this week's blog hop, head over to Catherine Proctor's blog. Cathy does a fantastic job of co-ordinating our Colour Creations shares every week. Listed below are the current products I used to make my cards. The new products will all be in my online store on 4th September, so if you love them, make sure you add them to your wish list!
