Want a real wow for your next summery card? How about a beach, with real sand! I'll show you how simple it is to add a real ka-pow technique to your card in this easy mini photo tutorial. All you need is a clear, quick-drying liquid glue, fine-grain sand (not the gritty, pebbly stuff) and a little drying time. I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set for my saying and my fun little canvas beach chair. The ink colors are Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide, Soft Suede and Soft Sky. First up, let's talk about the background of this...

The Hana Tank + Dress Pattern features the bias binding method of finishing the neckline and armholes. While this method is a great scrap buster, the first few times you try it might be frustrating. It takes practice and a little patience to make sure all those seams lay flat with no puckering.
Welcome to the PDF download (via Google Drive) for my version of the inner part of the Colour Wheel in the 2024-2025 Stampin Up Catalogue. I'm so pleased to say that Stampin Up have given permission for me to share this. Instructions: Download the PDF from Google Drive and save to your computer Print off or copy the page from the catalogue that you will attach the inner circle to. This is page 132 of the catalogue. I would suggest that you download the digital version of the catalogue to print from however a photocopy may be fine to use too. Use Basic White Thick cardstock for this and the inner circle so that they are sturdy. Print the PDF at 120%, as this should fit the page in your catalogue correctly. You may want to play with this scaling a little to suit however this worked just fine for me on my HP printer. Cut out the circle and then use a scapel to cut away the black areas to create windows for you to see through. Use a split pin to join through the centre of both the larger and smaller circle. This is what your printed wheel should look like - you can keep it as an A4 like I have or have it cut into a circle like the one that was gifted to Demonstrators - the choice is all yours! The link is HERE I'm really hoping this actually works and that you will enjoy using this until such time as an official one is available for purchase. Please take the time to go back to my first YouTube video explaining colour theory to fully understand how to use this great tool. If you have any questions or need help with yours, please send me an email using the contact form on my blog. Whilst you are here, please leave some love on my blog and be sure to pop back again soon to see what else I've been up to. Happy Stamping, Rachael xx

Ready to see some inking techniques on cards that will wow you? Learning how to make handmade cards is easy, fun, & rewarding. Watch the video tutorial!
What would I do without my acrylic blocks? Of course they are just the thing for stamping with clear stamps. But they are also perfect for creating gorgeous backgrounds! One of my favorite techniques is using my Stampin' Up markers to color them. I just ink up any old block with whatever colors suit my fancy. Then I get them super wet by misting them with water. If I'm working with card stock, I use tons of water, say 10 squirts. If I'm using watercolor paper, I use less water. In this example I was using card stock, so I drenched the block. Then I stamp it onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. I press down with force to help squish the color around. Sometimes I let it air dry, but when I'm in a hurry, I use my heat gun to speed up the process! And voila! A stunning bit of background just waiting to be stamped upon. Tomorrow I'll post some cards that I made using this technique. Give it a try!
