UPDATE!! I forgot to add one of the cards I made with this set in my original post... here it is! This card was made with stamping in Stazon on one of the vellum papers in the Wonderful Romance DSP set. Isn't it gorgeous! Hi Stampers! I want to share a fun stamp set today that caught my eye because of the images I could color. I think coloring, especially with our alcohol markers, Stampin' Blends, is one of my new favorite techniques! The Blends apply color so easily and you can do some amazing blending with the different shades of colors. I also chose this set to feature today as we are on the day before the big one, Valentine's Day! It's always fun to celebrate love and this stamp set will help you celebrate all the special couples in your life! Here are some fun projects I recently worked on using this set, "To Have and To Hold." This first card is a great example of what the Stampin' Blends markers can do. I used the darker and lighter shades of Night of Navy and Old Olive for the clothing. I used the bronze marker for the man's hair and I actually used two markers for the woman's, first the dark shade of Daffodil Delight and then, right over the top of that, the light shade of Crumb Cake. It helped me tone down her "too yellow" hair! The Ivory and Bronze markers are a "must have" for skin tones! I wanted to try something a little different for this card. I stamped the image, then used my light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends marker to color around the stamped area, trying to create a focal point. I love the simple color scheme of this and thought it ended up being a wonderful anniversary card. For my last one, I wanted to create a Valentine-themed card. I opted not to color the people this time as I didn't want to introduce any more colors into the color scheme. I used some of the Valentine framelits from "Be Mine" bundle and used some "Petal Promenade" Designer Series Paper for my background. This card was pretty easy to make, but still powerful in it's design. Here's a picture of the stamp set itself so you can see some more of the stamps! This is a great set to add to your inventory, especially if you make anniversary or wedding cards! It's a bonus if you like to color! My supplies are listed below and a click on any of them will take you to the online store! I hope you are looking forward to Valentine's Day tomorrow. My family and I will be traveling all the way to Cincinnati, OH for a very special treat. Our son-in-law is in a doctoral program for Vocal Performance (think opera, symphony soloist, college professor ;) ) and he's having his first recital. We are so looking forward to a fun family time and of course, celebrating all he's accomplishing! If you haven't already found "Big Sky Stampin" on Instagram, look for me and I'll be sharing some sights from our trip! Have a wonderful day! Sarah
There are two stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s 2019 Occasions Catalog that feature images of the backs of people's heads - To Have and to Hold is a wedding-themed set, while Artfully Aware is themed around love and support for those in need. For today's card, I used the sweet

This oil on panel signed with the initials of B.F and dated 1816 is a rare testimony to Freemasonry. The portrait of this elegantly dressed frank-looking aristocrat firmly holds a compass. On its left a grave bell with the date 1816 and the initials BF. The compass and the bell carry all the symbolism of Freemasonry. Freemasonry, since its beginnings in England in the 18th century, was able to integrate painting very early on to illuminate its attire and many painters were received in dressing rooms. Some left their mark in the annals of classical art. There is no pictorial current of this kind. On the other hand, many symbols, allegories and signs are used by different styles of paint-how Some Freemason painters have marked with their work tools the memory of many visitors to museums or books . The symbols have taken different forms, and for what concerns us, they have naturally found themselves in graphic representations. Freemasonry has gradually taken objects, often related to the construction An illustration from 1754, The Mason forged using the tools of his lodge, consists of a sun (the head) a religious book (the bust), two globes and a white apron (the pelvis), two columns (the legs), two squares (the arms), and a compass and a lead wire (the hands). This calendar features scenes from Wellfleet,, Massachusetts on Cape Cod, photographed by Anne Brown, Emily L. Ferguson and Julia Cumes. This calendar is available in a number of sizes and three paper options. All printing is done by Robert Manz using archival pigment inks and really nice papers. Coated card stock is appropriate for a calendar that you will use for a year and perhaps not save. The paper is 230 gsm bright white and the print quality is beautiful. Unfortunately, paper costs have gone up since we last published calendars and I have had to adjust prices accordingly. Card stock is our answer to the increased cost of paper this past year. For 90% plus of the quality level of coated card stock (that means coated to optimize for inkjet printing) I can hold prices on this paper constant. I can also use a heavier weight, 270 grams, that will minimize risk of warping. Rag paper is acid free and luxurious to feel. I print on stocks ranging between 200 and 300 gsm using papers from Hahnemuehle, Moab and Epson. A print on one of these is expected to last longer than you or I will :-)). For reference, the image size on a 13x19 calendar page is approximately 8x11 with some small degree of variation depending on the crop. also, please note that the page sizes given are the full size. Each calendar consists of 14 sheets, center hole punched at the top for easy hanging, and NO staples or wire binding. Just paper :-)) (Shipping note: I am afraid that there is a flaw in the Etsy shipping calculation system. For this listing the shipping estimate for an 11x17 or 13x19 is accurate, but there is usually an overcharge of $2 or $3 for an 8.5x11 because I am able to send it flat rate. If you are in Massachusetts there is no major difference, but if you are in Texas or California, it can be a few dollars. I ALWAYS refund the difference; I appreciate your patience :-)) Robert )
