I had so many things on my business to do list over the weekend that I didn't really get to dig into my demonstrator pre-order until late in the day on Sunday. It was my reward for checking so many things off the list! I ordered mostly Christmas things but I did get the Sale-a-Bration set Hippest Hippos and the coordinating Hippo dies. You'll be able to earn both of these items for free starting on July 1st! I love every single one of the Sale-a-Bration rewards this time and really had a hard time choosing what to get. How cute is this little guy out in the water in his boat? I'm using TGIF Challenges color combo to make this a great Father's Day card. I started with a Crumb Cake base, then a layer of Butterfly Kisses DSP. Next is a Stitched Rectangle in Basic White. I lightly blended a bit of Pacific Point ink onto the top portion to color the sky. Using the little waves die I cut a few strips of Basic white and then blended Pacific Point ink to create the water. The boat is die cut from Crumb Cake and the propeller is cut from silver foil, the flag is stamped and then hand trimmed and popped on dimensionals. The hippo is stamped and colored in with Blends markers and then die cut. I gave him some cool Pacific Point shades and then tucked him into the boat. I snuck in a punched cloud using the new Real Red & White glimmer paper that will be in the upcoming June-Dec. Mini catalog. The final touch is a Pacific Point candy dot to bring just a bit more Pacific Point to the card. When will I ever use them all up?? There are so many great possibilities for this stamp set and matching dies. It's a great addition to the cute and fun animal offering Stampin' Up! has right now. Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today? Stamps: Hippest Hippos (SAB) Ink: Memento Black, Pacific Point Blends: Crumb Cake light, Ivory, SU1000 Paper: Crumb Cake, Pacific Point, Crushed Curry, Basic White, Butterfly Kisses DSP, Basic Black, Silver Foil, White Glimmer paper Accessories: Hippos dies, Stitched Rectangle dies, Cloud punch, dimensionals, candy dots (retired)

At first this stamp set baffled me; what would I do with it? Well leave it up to the creativity of others to spark my own! I got some ideas online and all of a sudden I couldn't stop! I shared all of these cards and tips on making them on this week's Tuesday FB Live. Look! The card above is my favorite. It truly makes me smile! Hi Everyone, It's Techniques Tuesday and I am hopping with the Crafty Collaborations Group and the technique, this month, is 'Scoring'. So, I have made a pretty card with my current favourite, Shaded Summer, in my favourite combination, pink, white and black and used the scoring technique on the mat layer. Let me show you what I did. Materials 1 piece of magenta madness card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", 1 piece 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" 2 pieces of basic white card 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" Scraps of black and white card for die cuts Shaded Summer stamp set Summer Shadow dies Stitched So Sweetly dies Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine Basic Rhinestones Multipurpose adhesive Simply Scored Scoreboard Dimensionals Instructions On the long side, score the pink card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make a landscape card base. I have used my Simply Scored to make the score lines on the white mat layer. I laid it on the board at an angle and carefully scored in 1/2" measurements in different directions . You can see in the picture below that I have changed direction a couple of times. As long as you go slowly, it's easy enough to do. Hover your score tool along the line until you reach the card and then carefully, score to the point that you want. I then moved 1/2" and scored again and kept repeating this until I had filled the mat. I then added this layer on dimensionals to the card front. Die cut the third largest stitched rectangle in magenta madness and the full flowers and leaves in white and the intricate layers in black. Stamp the sentiment in the centre of the magenta rectangle and add to the card front. Stamp another sentiment on the remaining white card and adhere inside the card. I also added one of the intricate black flower layers inside too. Layer up the flowers and leaves and add to the card with dimensionals on the back of the flowers, I adhered the leaves so that I could tuck them in and around the flowers. Add some rhinestones to the flower centres and scatter some more around the card front for some added bling. It is SALE a-bration (also known as SAB) time again!!! That means you can earn FREE stamp sets, paper and dies with a minimum purchase of $60 or $120 before tax and shipping. And this amazing bundle of the most gorgeous designer series paper and a stamp set are one of the $120 items that you can earn. I have been featuring this all week, so make sure you check out my Facebook or Instagram page. I have a few more projects with this bundle coming this week, so make sure you subscribe so you catch them! Now to the pretty card! So in my video I used Sweet Sorbet, but I also did it in Orchid Oasis. Which one do you like the best? If you want to make this card, you can purchase the supplies from my on-line store! All supplies I used are provided below. For the Orchid Oasis card, just swap out the Sweet Sorbet for Orchid Oasis. The card base is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. I then adhered the Basic White panel (4 X 5 1/4) to the cardstock layer (4 X 2 3/4) and the DSP layer (4 X 2 1/2) and then ran it through the cut and emboss machine with the Timeworn type embossing folder (you can run them all through separately too and then glue together). This then was glued to the card base. On the Basic White card stock that was cut using the deckled rectangle die (cardstock was about 4 1/4 X 2 3/4), I stamped the image of the flowers in the bottom left corner. As the stamp set is distinctive, if your ink pad is juicy, you may want to use a dauber to apply the ink so that you get the details from the stamp. Using my blending brushes I added color being careful to add the color slowly. You can always add more, but you can't take it away!! I then stamped the sentiment in the top right hand corner and then die cut it out using the Charming Sentiments dies. The Basic White panel was then attached to the card stock layer (4 3/8 X 2 5/8) and the sentiment was popped up using dimensionals. I finished the card front off by tying a little bow and adding some embellishments. For the inside of the card, I stamped the flower and did the shading again in the bottom corner and then added a sentiment from the Amazing Phrasing stamp set which is also a SAB item that is free with a $120 order. Check out the other SAB items here . Remember these are while supplies last up to August 31. When they are sold out, they will not be available again so don't wait!! It can sometimes be difficult to pick a color scheme or layout for a card - that's where online challenges come in handy. They take some of the decision making out of card making if you choose to lean on them. I looked to this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge
Ok, who wants to see a sneak peek of new products coming in the January - June 2021 Mini Catalog? ✋ After attending a virtual 3-day program introducing the new Mini and upcoming Sale-a-Bration brochure, I was fortunate to be able to pre-order some of the products. And the first bundle I chose was the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle, including the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set and the Brilliant Rainbow dies. My mom, who passed away in July, loved rainbows, so this set has special significance for me. There are 14 stamps in the set , and 10 dies, and you can create all kinds of rainbows - big, small, and in-between. So what did I make first? A fun set of mini cards! I love to include a mini, 3" x 3" card when I sell retired products. So I'm always making these, and I love how these turned out. Using one of the dies, I cut four colors - Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape, giving me 4 sizes of each color. I merely combined them for the cards. The Stitched Shapes die is retired (but will never leave my stash!) and it's the perfect size for this little rainbow. I stamped the greeting along the bottom in a color matching the largest arc of the rainbow and also made that the card base. Then I just popped up one of the little clouds, included in the dies. Cute? YES! But then I started playing a little more... This time I stamped the rainbow and stretched out the photopolymer greeting (yes, you can alter the shape of these pliable stamps), then used a piece of the FREE Sale-a-Bration coordinating Sunshine & Rainbows patterned paper to mount it on. And then: This time I cut the rainbow with the largest die and some Rainbow Glimmer paper (how fitting is that?) and mounted it to a watercolored piece of Basic White. And look at that cute border: Mini rainbows! LOVE! Can't wait to get your hands on some of the new products? Well today is your lucky day! For just 3 more days you can join Stampin' UP! for the ridiculously low price of just $75 and get $125 worth of product and FREE shipping! Join now and you'll get to pre-order products from the new Mini Catalog starting December 1st! Happy Tuesdsay, peeps! I had stamp clubs yesterday and so I had been busy in the last week trying to create some samples to show all the beautiful SAB products my gals had to choose from! I have to say that the Hippos and Rings of Love were the favorites! But here are three samples I randomly chose to share today: This holiday card uses Rings of Love DSP because it reminded me of a wintery, snowy woods. I added a sprig from Nature's Prints, inked with Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler markers and backed on a Stitched Rectangle panel that was stamped with a rectangle from Watercolor Shapes. The sentiment is from the new Brightest Glow, also diecut and stamped with Watercolor Shapes. I added a Cherry Cobbler border (Blossoming Happiness dies) and some red rhinestones. I am also entering this at the Global Design Project, where they are looking for "shapes"....I have lots of rectangle shapes here! My second card uses the ducks from the SAB set Stylish Shapes. I stamped them in Soft Suede on a panel that was diecut from the Scary Silhouettes Dies and added a sentiment from Happiness Abounds. I had a piece of Crumb Cake I had embossed with the Timber EF but never used, so I diecut a square panel from Stylish Shapes for the background, then mounted everything on a piece of He's The Man DSP and a Crumb Cake card. For interest, I diecut a little banner, cut it in half and tucked it into little slits on either side of the image, then added some metallic brads: Finally, this pretty pattern from the Rings of Love DSP just makes me smile....I love all the BLUE! I had a wee little piece of the embossed Crumb Cake left from the card above, so I made a couple more little banners, added a baker's twine bow and a sentiment from Nature's Prints and Watercolor Shapes: That's it for today! If you have any questions about the cards, shoot me an email! Cassidy is at Summer Assembly this week; it's a camp put on by Christian Endeavor, and she is following in her mommy's footsteps, as Dana went for several years as a member of our church's youth group, and has fond memories of it! Cassidy was a bit apprehensive to go away for that length of time, but so far she seems to be having fun! Pray for her to grow in her faith in the Lord and to be a good witness! Truthfully, she looks so grown-up here, I can hardly believe it! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
I have a new, favorite bundle from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog... Welcoming Window. Okay, I admit it, I love windows on cards! Welcome Window This bundle has so many possibilities, you have t
Hello there stampers! Happy Friday! Welcome and thank you for joining me on my blog today. I've just had a very well deserved and much needed Christmas Break with my family and some time away camping in our caravan, with 4 other families. Lots of fun in the sun, trying out my new stand up paddle board that I got for Christmas, swimming in the lake, swimming at the beach, boating, knee-boarding, 4WD, and lots of all-round summer fun! Was so good to be away in the great outdoors of Australia. Over at Just Add Ink, to kick off the first challenge for the year we are commencing 2021 with a blog hop to go with the new challenge. Our theme for this hop and the challenge is 'Just Add Summer'. With all that fun in the sun I've just had for the last two weeks the new challenge seems very fitting and it's perfect for us in the Southern Hemisphere where we are right in the middle of Summer. While most people, including me, usually see Summer as a time for being at the beach or the pool and enjoying lots of time outside, and I do all that. But one thing I love that happens quite regularly here in Melbourne are the amazing summer storms. After days of extremely hot weather there is nothing better than a summer storm to feel alive and refreshed. One thing that usually comes with those storms are the stunning rainbows that shine so brightly against those dark grey clouds. So with that my projects for today's blog hop all use the new Brilliant rainbow dies from the new 2022 Jan - Jun Mini Catalogue. Ive used some non-traditional rainbow colours and then combined those gorgeous rainbows with some fabulous background scoring techniques. A super easy way to add details to any project with not much effort. For each rainbow I've used the Stampin' Up! colours - Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo. How gorgeous are these colours together? I just love the combo and they look extra amazing against the crisp Basic White. The big rainbow dies are such a statement. I love how when using them you don't really need much else to go with them. Here I've used the cloud dies (part of the Brilliant rain Bow Dies) and die cut the clouds out of vellum. I've then used White Bakers Twine, some Adhesive Backed Sequins and the embossed Happy Birthday from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set. I just added scoring lines around the edge using my Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer, just lining up the edge at the 1/2" mark and then spacing the next line 1/4" apart. Super easy and just score on all four sides. My next card I created a grid background using my Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Tool. My lines are 1/4" apart and it was very quick and easy to do and makes an awesome grid pattern. The rainbow is again die cut with the same colours and also finished off with the same embellishments and trim. This Happy Birthday comes from the Art Gallery Stamp Set. My last card uses the 'tag' rainbow die to create a fabulous border. I die cut 5 of the tags in Basic White to make the border and then used that same die to then get the rainbow 'inserts' in each of the four colours. While there is a smaller die in this set that makes a border for you, I liked the bigger size for more of an impact. This time for the scored lines I made a diagonal pattern spaced 1/2" apart. I again used my Stampin' Up! Paper trimmer to score from corner to corner and then just lined up the scored lines on the 1/2" line and continued the lines across the card in both directions. While my cards are quite CAS I really love the bright colour combo against the bright white. It then makes it a whole lot easier to mass produce if you are making a lot of them. Change up the Happy Birthday for another sentiment and you've got a card for all occasions. Next up on the blog hop is the fabulous Tristan Dawes. Make sure you click your way around to everyone on the hop as there are lots of amazing creations and lots of different takes on our 'Just Add Summer' theme. Hello, crafty friends. Today I am sharing a new creation using a new bundle from the upcoming January - June 2022 Mini Catalog called Let's Set Sail. This is a 9 piece photopolymer stamp set that has a matching Sailboat Builder punch and can be found on page 70 of the new 2022 mini catalog. I paired the Let's Set Sail stamp set with a new Sale-a-bration item called the Sunshine & Rainbows 6" x 6" DSP. You can get this fun DSP for FREE with a $50 order starting on January 4th and running through February 28, 2022. I stamped my sailboat using Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody inks to match a striped piece of DSP from the Sunshine & Rainbows Sale-a-bration DSP. To create a little interest and texture to my stamped scene, I added a Basic White piece of cardstock that was embossed with the Macrame 3D Embossing Folder. To create my sun, I used a Blending Brush with Daffodil Delight ink. And lastly, I added some twine from the Playful Pets Trim Pack and a few Matte Black Dots- both from the Annual Catalog. I love the font used in this stamp set. This is a super easy stamp set to work with and I love the brushed texture it created when stamped. There's only a few more days left before the Holiday Mini Catalog ends! Don't miss out on your favorites! And don't forget to use my Host Code when you shop for extra PERKS! Place a $45 order using my December Host Code and receive the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon (item 156485) and 24 sheets of the Pattern Party DSP ( 2 each of the 12 different 6" x 6" designs) as my thank you gift.
