I am frequently asked to created masculine cards. I think both of the cards today can be used for that purpose. I used another die that is included in the Palms Dies Pack for the inside. I love the simplicity of the second card. What do you

Hello my stamping friends. My share for you today features a card inspired by my recent visit to Texas to visit France "Frenchie" Martin. We took a walk in the evenings and stopped by the dock to watch the sunset. There's nothing better than the sunset on the water. I used the Paradise Palms stamp set plus the Let's Set Sail for the greeting on the front and then Handsomely Suited for the inside greeting. I have a video for you today to show you how I made this card. Measurements: Basic Black: 4¼ x 11 scored at 5½ for the card base, 4¾ x 4¼ Basic White: (2) 4 x 5¼ Instructions: Make a mask for the sun with a 1" circle. I made mine out of a post-it note that is sticky all over. Place it on the 4 x 5¼ Basic White layer. With blending brushes and So Saffron, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Gray Granite and Starry Sky blend your sunset and water. You always want to start on a scrap paper before blending on your project. Once you are happy with sponging, remove the mask on your sun. Lightly sponge some So Saffron and Mango Melody over it to soften the sharp lines. Die cut 2 grassy pieces from Basic Black along with one palm tree. I used adhesive sheets on the back before cutting to make adhering easier. Adhere the grassy pieces to the sponged layer, trimming off the excess. Stamp the greeting onto the lower left corner with memento black ink. I used the Stamparatus so that I could stamp it several times to make it nice and dark. Adhere to card front. Adhere the palm tree to the card front. Stamp the sentiment on the inside layer with Starry Sky ink, and then either some birds or palm trees in memento black ink. Stamp the palm trees onto the envelope in memento black ink. Thanks so much for stopping by!! I really appreciate it. I have a video for you showing exactly how I made this card HERE. If you missed the video tutorial, I've pasted the replay at the bottom of this blog post! Or watch it on my YouTube channel. After using Stampin' Up! I used the Stampin’ Up! Paradise Palms Stamp Set Bundle from the upcoming January-June 2022 Mini Catalog to create a retirement card to share with you today. My card base is Night of Navy cardstock, 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2". I cut a piece of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Paradise Palms Stamp Set in Night of Navy ink. I ran it through my embossing machine using the upcoming Hive 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered it to the card base with liquid glue. Next I cut a piece of the Abstract Beauty 4″ x 6″ Specialty DSP (available Jan 4). It measures 4" x 2". I adhered that to the front with liquid glue. Then out of Night of Navy cardstock I cut a single palm tree from the upcoming Palm Dies. I adhered the trunk with liquid glue and the fronds with Dimensionals that I cut up real tiny! At the base of the trunk, I placed 5 of the upcoming Pebbles Enamel Shapes, hoping to create the look of a cobblestone path. For the inside... I stamped another sentiment and image from the Paradise Palms Stamp Set. The sentiment is stamped with Night of Navy Ink. The palms are colored with my Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Markers. The white cardstock is cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I'm entering my card at NBUS Challenge #34 (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) as this is the first time I have used the stamps and dies. Because of the patterned paper I'm entering Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper January 2022 Challenge. I'm also playing at Alphabet Challenge "T" is for trees. Thank you for stopping by today. Are you having people in for New Year's Day or are you going out? I've invited a couple in to have my traditional beef fondue with mushroom sauce, curry sauce, spinach salad and garlic toast. Whatever you're doing, enjoy! "Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV

Hello & welcome! Today is Sending Smiles bundle post 4 and my team project for Just Add Ink challenge 619. This week's challenge is to create a masculine card. It's Father's Day in Australia this Sunday so perfect time for anyone looking for guy card inspo. I went with a tropical sunset scene birthday card with a blended ink background - yes I'm pretty obsessed with them and sunsets at the moment. Take a look. This is the type of card I'd make for my darling man, friends or family. What is a 'masculine' card anyway? Truth be told, I tend to make cards for the actual person & what I think they'd like rather than any definition. I think my card is pretty neutral and can think of many people I'd give it to. Ink background - I masked off the setting sun with a die cut circle mask, then used Blending Brushes with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade & a tiny bit of Night of Navy to create the sunset. Sending sentiment - I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy then coloured it with light & dark Tahitian Tide Stampin' Blends to create some graduated colour. Tropical details - The die cut Palm trees and border add some touches to remind me of trips to Hawaii. Inside I've kept it simple but interesting with a couple more die cuts from the Palms set. I love the Sahara Sand (base) with the Night of Navy elements. Well that's just made be want to get away to a tropical island, but I'll have to content myself with the beautiful sunsets and sunrises we've been having in Sydney through Winter. Hopefully they'll continue. I hope my card has inspired you to create your own sunset or palms card for a loved one. Once you're finished here, head to the Just Add Ink blog to see all the team's projects. To create your own version, check out the full supply list here in my store to see what you'll need.
