I love cards that move, don't you? They are so fun and are a nice surprise for the person opening the card! This card moves in cascading circles when you pull on the ribbon so that when it is extended, it looks like this: As you can see in the photo above, the Circle Collection ... Read more

It's Thursday again!! Time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have a beautiful color challenge: Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand and Basic Gray. At first I couldn't think what to do with this combo but then I saw my Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die and started my journey with that (sometimes getting to the finish with a card is really a journey for me, with backtracks and changes of direction, especially with color challenges. How about you?) I knew early on that I wanted to use the Dictionary stamp on the paper behind the hexagon diecut; I stamped it off once before the final stamping onto the Lost Lagoon cardstock. Next I diecut the stems and leaves from Basic Gray and, using the Blossom Punch, punched out the two large flowers. The two small flowers were also punched from Sahara Sand with the blossom punch in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. The center of the flower was stamped in Basic Gray, colored with Lost Lagoon then added a light dusting of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter adhered with a Two Way Glue Pen.. Pearls embellish the centers of the flowers. Stamps: Honeycomb Hello, Mixed Bunch (flower center), Dictionary Ink: Basic Gray; Lost Lagoon Marker Paper: Lost Lagoon, Basic Gray, Sahara Sand cardstocks Accessories: Hexagon Hive Thinlit, Flower Frenzy Bigz L Die (stems & leaves), Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Blossoms Flower Punch, Pearls, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Two Way Glue Pen, Dimensionals, Glue Dots. Here is the Color Challenge 340 this week from Create with Connie and Mary: We would love for you to take the challenge with us this week using this unique color scheme! I really like how these colors can work together to produce lovely results! Just go to Create with Connie and Mary's blog for the guidelines, make your project them upload it to their website! We can't wait to see what you do with it and we are always inspired by the creations of those who participate! Also, while you're there, check out the cards of the other Challenge Team members ... they always inspired me! Thanks for looking! Margaret

I'm so excited to share this project & video with you today. If you're looking to make a few extra special cards for the Holidays, for those extra special people in your life...this Night in Bethlehem Bundle card is the one! For my one of Stamping Club Classes we did an oldie but goodie technique, Polished Stone...but with a twist, using the Clear Wink of Stella Brush. I also shared it at the Creative Connections event in September and a few people have asked about a How'd She DO That? video. So that's what I have for you today! Polished...
Wow, it seems like I can not get enough of the Circle Thinlit Die. Ever since I made Cookie Monster I have had these two in my head. This is just the most fun Thinlit. We have had very cold weather here lately and I have been inside for the past what seems like three weeks. So Stampin Up has kept me from going insaine. I know that most of you are like not again with the Cicle Thinlit, but I held off as long as I could. I just love finding ways to make what we have to work with into something that someone would really enjoy. I think that any young child would love to receive either one of these cards. I truly hope that you like the cards and as always. Leave a comment. That title was cheesy, I know.(wink wink) But I made my daughter a little camera album for Christmas to recap the year...and she loved it! I used my envelope punch board to cut the camera shape out of cardstock as well the pictures. I used my circle framelits to cut the silver glimmer paper lens rings and the acetate lens itself. Everything is Stampin' Up! Pretty easy, really! Thanks for taking a look!

Hello and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday... I have a fantastic little box to share with you today, if you are a follower of Game of Thrones then you will love this box, its a Red Dragon... I am so loving this little chap, His body is a basic Curvy Keepsake Box in Real Red card assembled in the normal way and I have sponged Real Red ink around all the edges. His tummy is the Extra Large Oval punch in Cherry Cobbler card, I assembled the head before attaching this to the box. The Wings are the Extra Large Oval shaped using the small Oval punch. How cute is that tail, its a triangle of card 9 cm x 3 cm, then I used the small Oval Punch to cut grooves in it. I shaped it with a bone folder before attaching it to the box. For the head I used the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and cut 2, (one for the front and one for the back) I then used my paper snips and shaped the head by taking a small groove out of each side and one out of the top. Next I punched out a Large Oval and cut a small groove in it to shape the snout. I used the large circle from the Owl Builder Punch to create the nostrils. For the eyes I used the large circle from the Owl Builder Punch and punched out 2 white and one red. For the Black pupils I used the leaf from the Bird builder punch. I assembled the eyes and added them to the face and then added highlights with a White gel pen. The ears are the wing from the Bird Builder Punch and the fire coming from his mouth is the birds tail also from the Bird Builder Punch, I cut 2 in Crushed Curry and 1 in Pumpkin Pie. To finish the head I used a small Oval behind the muzzle and then stuck the head to a piece of card 1/2" x 1 1/2" (neck) then to tidy up the back of the head I stuck the second head piece I cut out at the beginning. In the process of making some extra-special cards for some extra-special stampin' sisters, my fellow Advisory Board members, at convention in two weeks, but couldn't resist sharing these particular projects with you--shhh!!Aren't they pretty? I used my new Striped Scallop Thinlet die for the Big Shot for the first time, and I thought it really brought them up a notch. Each one is different, because I chose colors for each of their unique personalities. I'm reminded as I work on these of my Advisory Board Retreat gifts, when I didn't know these precious ladies at all yet, and chose their...
I mentioned that my stepdaughter graduated. Well, that means a lot of gifts and many thank you cards in return. I made a small stack of these cards for her to send to her well-wishers. Just so happens they are the colors for the Dynamic Duos color challenge! Wonder how that happened... Anyway I wanted to use my new toys and this design helped me achieve a few different goals this week! I took another photo but the light is hideous and the angle was wrong and it was just an unfixable disaster AND I was out of daylight, so I will post this card again with some other color combinations and letters I played with today. I managed to smash in 4 new items from the 2012-13 Stampin' Up annual catalog - the Floral Framelits, Adorning Accents Edgelits and matching embossing folder, and the new Daydream Medallions stamp set, along with my trusty Broadsheet Alphabet. Love this design. I thought it might work for the Stamp A Stack we have planned but if we have 20 people trying to make 4 of the same design at the same time, even using 2 Big Shots, it will just turn into Armageddon and we don't need that. :) So I used the medallions and framelits again and came up with a more multi-user friendly design. Now I can't wait for the big event! I've been aware of Dynamic Duos and this is just their 8th challenge, and it is a great one. I'll be playing again! I keep trying to do more complicated things and the simplicity suits me well. Thanks for stopping by. Hello and Welcome to our Stampin' Up! Only Challenge - SUO! This time we are challenging you to create your project with the theme Out In the Garden. And, what could be more perfect than these divine daisies!! I've paired the fabulous Daisy Delight stamp set..... with the coordinating Delightful Daisy DSP - and what a wonderful pairing!! I've used the Daffodil Delight daisy paper and paired it with Always Artichoke and a touch of So Saffron and Early Espresso. I've also used the awesome and fun Wood Crate framelits to create a container for my daisies. This card is so full of spring beauty! It's a perfect card to display on the mantle. The card is a z fold so that it stands perfectly, and yet, it can still fit neatly into a standard envelope for postage. Daisys in a crate z fold card You Will Need: Stamp Set – Daisy Delight; Inks – Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder; Extras – Daisy punch, Wood Crate framelits, ½” circle punch, sponge Paper: Card base, Delightful Daisy DSP pieces – 14 x 10cm, 7 x 10cm, 7 x 10cm; Wood Textures DSP pieces – 2 of 14cm x 5cm & 12cm x 2cm, coordinating cardstock for punching daisy heads, Always Artichoke for stalks, Whisper White piece for flower centres 1. Using the Wood Crate framelits and the 2 Wood Textures DSP pieces (5cm x 14cm) , die cut 2 crate pieces leaving off the base flap. You may need to trim the bottom of the crate so it’s straight. 2. Assemble the wood crate using double sided tape on the side flaps. 3. Stamp a greeting onto the top rung of the crate using Early Espresso Ink 4. Score the extra piece of Wood Textures DSP at 2cm and 10cm 5. Adhere the strip of wood textures DSP into the centre of the crate attaching the flaps at each end of the crate. This gives you an extra anchor point for your flowers. 6. Make sure you can fold the crate flat in both directions. 7. Adhere the Delightful Daisy DSP to each panel of your card and fold the card into a Z. 8. Attach the crate to the centre of the card – long side of the crate to the long side of the card. 9. Stamp the greeting onto the front of the card using Early Espresso ink 10. Using the daisy punch and cardstock, punch 10 flower heads 11. Sponge along the edges of each petal using coordinating ink 12. Using a bone folder gently bend the petals to look more realistic. 13. Stamp 5 flower centres onto the white cardstock using coordinating ink, and punch out using the ½” circle punch 14. Assemble the flower heads – 2 daisies offset together to make 5 flowers. 15. Attach the daisy centres 16. Cut very thin strips of Always Artichoke to make 5 stems for the flowers 17. Adhere the top of the each stem to the back of each flower and arrange them into the crate and adhere.
