I got design idea for this card from fellow Demo, Wendy Klein. I never would have thought to use Designer Series Paper for the detailed dragonfly thinlit. It's gorgeous in person, and I can't get a photograph to do it justice. Stamp the images from Timeless Textures stamp set in Smoky Slate ink. Stamp the splatters in Versamark and then use Copper embossing powder. Sponge Blushing Bride and Smoky Slate inks over the images. Cut the solid dragonfly thinlit (backing) in Copper Foil Cut the detailed overlay from Falling In Love DSP. Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing one of the quick and easy cards we made at the Stamp-a-Stack last Sunday. I CASEd the idea from Mary Fish over at www.stampinpretty.com when she did a similar card using the butterfly thinlits. Check it out ... I just finished putting 10 of these together last night, with the leftovers from Sunday. Seriously. So quick! Standard card base of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Top Whisper White layer of 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" Sweet Sugarplum Layer of 3 1/2" plus two ticks x 4 3/4" plus two ticks :) Any DSP of your choice cut 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" - I used patterns from the Falling in Love pack Step 1: Run the top Whisper White layer through the Big Shot using the Dragonfly Dreams thinlits. I used the magnetic plate plus the precision plate for this cut but be warned - you aren't SUPPOSE to use the magnetic plate with the precision plate. Why? The pressure is a little too much for the clear cutting plate and it warps it quite badly. Why do I use it? This one particular die just needs the extra pressure to cult all the way through. With other plate combinations I need to keep adding card stock shims underneath and … well … it's just a pain … so I sacrifice a clear plate and if it warps it warps. It's ok … I can buy another one *lol* Step 2: Stamp your sentiment using Rich Razzleberry ink - I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Rose Wonder set Step 3: Tape the DSP square to the back of the white base - TIP - apply the tape to the back of the white layer, not to the DSP … I can pretty much guarantee if you put the tape on the DSP you'll end up with tape showing through the hole you just cut! Step 4: Use your bone folder to curl the dragonfly wings up. You have the wing between your thumb and the bone folder … like the old days when we used to curl ribbon with our scissors … Step 5: Use a small piece of foam strip on the dragonfly torso and attach it to the DSP Step 6: Attach the white layer to the Sweet Sugarplum layer with dimensionals Step 7: Attach the Sweet Sugarplum layer to the white base using snail adhesive. Step 8: Attach some rhinestones to finish it off Done! LOVE how quick it comes together. This is a great card for most occasions making it a great one for a Stamp-a-Stack! OK … guess I should run. Hi everyone, I am so glad I got a few minutes left in today to blog and share a little cute card with you. I had to make some cards and quick today. Now whenever I am strapped for time which is let's face it, nearly every time I make a card, I tend to look for something cute to case and today was no different, only in that I cased myself !!!! I made this beauty while away last November to fabulous Cuba and while I loved it, I wasn't quite happy with the sentiment placement which was a result of a poorly positioned stamped elements, basically I didn't have room to add the sentiment between the stamped lace and stamped bee. So I thought I would re hash that card at home with all my supplies on hand and this is what the second lot turned out like. This time I added more layers behind the centre panel and popped the bees up onto some dimensionals. This gorgeous bee is from the stamp set Dragonfly Dreams If you are a long time visitor of my blog you will know that I have a sweet friend, Carol who helps me stamp when I have tons to make. Well recently she was laid in hospital with a nasty infection but wanted to do something with her time and was limited as to what she could do. I stamped and coloured quite a few bees and she kindly cut them all out for me... thanks Carol <3 p=""> I love the FREE Delicate Details stamp set and used it as a background you can just see it peeking out here... And of course the wings and lace got some glitter treatment, simply dab some glue on the pieces and sprinkle with some dazzling diamonds... love the bling I do !!!! I will bid you farewell now and go and make some tea for the builders, they are working hard and we are making progress. Last time I updated you there were no floors and no ceiling in there. Well, by Tuesday we had firm floors once again, all electrics and plumbing were in and ready.... then at the end of today we even have some ceiling IN. We had a couple of set backs, the new roof had a few leaks which have now been dealt with so by tomorrow we should have a full ceiling ready for the spotlights to be fitted. Exciting stuff but so time consuming, I didn't realise I would have so many decssions to make I thought all I had to do is organise my craft stuff *laughing hard* ready to move in there. as you know over the last few days I've been focusing on the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and thinlet dies and I thought I would show you how to take it to the next level. Background Using the sponge brayer sponge tones of blues and greens gradually building up the layers to build depth of colour tone blend. The take a short bristle brush and some water and taking excess water off the brush flick the water in a fine spray across the card and blot with kitchen roll. Continue to do this until desired effect achieved. By blotting the ink is removed and white spray is left. Cut card equally in three pieces and mount on night of navy cardstock with small border. Mount this onto whisper white card base. Dragonfly Using a piece of cardstock and the ray from the Everyday hero stamp set stamp a circle of rays in various tones of yellow, blue and green, keep stamping till the desired effect achieved. The centre will be darker than the edge. Then die cut the dragonfly and stick to night of navy cardstock and fussy cut out. Now using clear embossing powder emboss three times to build a thick layer. The second time sprinkle some dazzling diamonds while embossing powder hot. Leave to dry completely and press underneath something heavy for a few hours to flatten dragonfly. Add some dimensionals and stick Dragonfly to card at an angle. Hallo allemaal! Het weekend staat weer voor de deur en ik ben, naast de wekelijkse voetbalwedstrijd van zoonlief, het hele weekend vrij. Bovenaan het lijstje staat het opruimen van mijn hobbyruimte van 2 x 2 m. Er is de afgelopen weken weer het een en ander binnen gekomen en om het kwijt te kunnen moet er weer wat opgeruimd worden. Nee, ik heb er niet zo veel zin in. Maar goed, we gaan snel naar het kaartje van vandaag! Crumb Cake Sahara Sand Soft Suede Early Espresso Ken je dat? Je hebt iets nieuws en het brand in je handen? Nou dat heb ik dus al een week of twee met de set Dragonfly Dreams. Ik wilde zooooo graag kijken hoe deze zou combineren met de set Awesomly Artistic. Vanochtend hield ik het niet meer en heb er toch mee gestempeld. Het is een prachtige set met een libelle, achtergrondstempels en gave teksten. De bijpassende stansen zijn verschillend in grootte en enkele daarvan zijn opengewerkt. Super mooi! Deze zijn vanaf 4 januari verkrijgbaar als de voorjaar/zomer catalogus live gaat. Ik heb gestempeld met mijn favoriete bruintinten en heb ongelooflijk veel plezier gehad. De set Awesomely Artistic (die nu te bestellen is uit de jaarlijkse catalogus) is zo'n gave set om de layering techniek mee toe te passen! Je kunt hem combineren met allerlei beestjes en figuurtjes maar de Dragonfly Dreams is toch echt wel een aangename aanvulling. Hier ben ik vast niet snel op uitgekeken. Ik wens je een heel gezellig weekend en hoop je snel weer te zien bij een volgend blogberichtje!

Good Morning Everyone, It's Sunday, so that means we have a Share it on a Sunday for you. This week we are creating Monotone projects. Now, i'll be honest I have a tendency to overthink this theme and think it needs to be 'more' than it is. So I jumped in with both feet and just created, using a selection of brown tones and a splash of vanilla - I love how this has turned out. Measurements Crumb Cake Card Stock 1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8" Early Espresso Card Stock 1pc - 5 7/8" x 2 1/4" scraps Sahara Sand Card Stock 1pc - 5 7/8" x 2" Very Vanilla Card Stock 1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" scrap Take the Crumb Cake card stock and fold along the score link. Stamp the butterfly cluster all over the card front in crumb cake. Add a cluster to the large piece of very vanilla in the top right hand corner. Ink up the meadow flowers in early espresso ink and add the top half of it to the bottom left hand corner. Stick this panel to the inside of the card. Ink up the meadow flowers again in early espresso ink but this time stamp onto the strip of Sahara Sand. Stamp this towards the bottom of the strip. Stamp the sentiment Above and layer this strip to the early espresso piece. Adhere this to the card front towards the left. Stamp a large Dragonfly onto a scrap of very Vanilla and cut out using the Dragonfly Punch. Once the ink is dry, add lots of wink of Stella to the wings. You will pull a small amount of the brown but that's ok. Cut out two smaller dragonflies in early espresso Cardstock and cover with more wink of Stella. Add all your dragonflies to the card front with dimensionals.
